Chapter VIII
I can see home. I think the New York City skyline, and it has never looked so... refreshing. Don't tell New York I said that, he'd never let me forget. I'm warning you reader... For the entire plane trip, South has been sleeping on my shoulder, which caused it to fall asleep with in the first hour. Del and Arthur read the whole time, while I was left staring out the window, listening to music with a head on my shoulder.
Suddenly, I heard the sound of a phone's camera going off. I snapped my head in the direction of the noise and narrowed my eyes at the culprit, Delaware. He was smirking at me with a camera pointed my way, and mouthed 'blackmail'. I just glared at him, mentally strangling Del. My eyes flicked over to where Arthur was sitting, watching us with an amused look on his face. I rolled my eyes and went back to looking out the window, and seeing that we were now over NYC and heading to one of the airports, I forget which one.
At the felling of the plane's wheels touching the runway, South's head shot up from the sudden awakening. Now I can finally feel my shoulder, again. I could hear Del laughing at South's reaction.
Soon, we were leaving the plane, and heading towards the baggage claim. On the way, Arthur suddenly screamed, and I quickly turned around to see a laughing Alfred, and a furious Arthur, yelling him about not sneaking up on people and scaring them. "HA, good job, Alfred, I've been wanting to do something like that all week!" I proclaimed, standing tall with my arms crossed. South was laughing of to my right and Del was shaking his head, but I could see a smile on his face.
"Don't encourage him, You bloody wankers!" Arthur scowled, storming off to get his suitcase.
"HAHAHA, don't be so grumpy Iggy! Remember, you're staying at my house for a little bit, too!"
"I can easily leave early, so don't test me!" Arthur or 'Iggy' yelled back at us.
"Come on, let's catch up to him," Delaware told us, following after Arthur.
Soon, we were in Alfred's car, heading back to his house. Alfred and Arthur were sitting in the front with Alfred driving, I was sitting behind Alfred, South in the middle and Del behind Arthur. Alfred, while driving I might add, was animatedly talking to Arthur about things, constantly jumping from topic to topic. The back of the car's atmosphere was comfortable, all the tension between us from before had been resolved. If Alfred noticed he didn't say anything.
As soon as we got back, I raced into the house heading for my room. "HOME SWEET HOME!" I shouted, gaining the attention of a few states near by. South came in after me, laughing softly, and shaking his head. Del came in after us, followed by Alfred and Arthur.
"So, how was your week?" Alfred asked, smiling at us, slinging his arm around Arthur's shoulders, much to his unhappiness.
"Shit," I said bluntly, "It rained almost the whole week."
"What North means to say is that it could have been worse," Delaware 'corrected' me.
Alfred laughed, before saying, "Well, it looks like you three are getting along better now, so that's one good thing to come out of this."
"At my expense," Arthur muttered under his breath, but it didn't go unheard by Alfred.
"But, Iggy, you're the one that wanted to do this in the first place," Alfred pointed out, causing Arthur to frown, and leading the two of them to get into an argument.
"Haha, they remind me of an old married couple," South commented, smiling at our country and his 'father'.
"They're more like siblings to me," Del said, offering his opinion and shaking his head.
"I don't care, all I want is to ignore everyone and sleep," I stated.
"Why?" asked Del, turning to look at me.
"Jet lag," and with that, I turned walked to my room, ignoring everyone I passed on the way there and opened my door, closed and locked it, and promptly fell onto my bed and slept.
And this is the end to the story of how Delaware and I started to get along. Now fuck off, reader, I'm not sure how you did it, but you've been listening the whole time I've been telling the story to the rest of the states.
"AND ME!"
And Alfred.
Good bye and never come back please. I mean it. Leave. Damn it, why are you still reading this, fuck off. You are not amusing me.
