How do you feel about winning this writing competition?
Definitely shocked. I didn't expect to really win, I just entered because I thought it would be fun to do. So when I found out that I won, I super excited.
Is this the first competition you've ever won?
For writing on Wattpad? Yeah, it is. I've done other comps, usually much shorter, but this is the first I've won.
What was your favorite part about the competition?
Having allies was definitely interesting, but my favorite part was actually writing out scenes for the prompts given. It was really fun to take this spur of the moment character and write more about her.
Would you participate in any future competitions? If so, would you still try to win, or would you do it just for the fun of it?
Yeah I would, I'm actually signed up for the Mortal Instruments comp. Since I already won this contest, I'm just participating for the fun of it. Although I wouldn't mind winning again, I think it would be cool to see someone else win as well.
How long ago did you join Wattpad and how did you find the site?
I joined Febauary 2014, the hour before Valentines Day. I actually found the site through a friend who was obsessed with Wattpad at the time, and she spent months telling me to make an account on here until she made me one (that still exists), but the account password was lost, so I made this one as a place to put all of my writing.
What is your favorite part about Wattpad?
I think that my favorite part is how interactive it is. I love going to the clubs and helping others, or being helped, and I love being able to get feedback from other users on my stories, it's really helped me improve my writing.
What's your favorite story of yours?
Probably either Quote Boy or Demon Chasing.
What's your favorite story of another author (either on or off of Wattpad)?
On Wattpad, I love He She It by vangoghoe. Off Wattpad, I really like John Green books and His Dark Materials series.
What's your favorite genre to write in and why?
Definitely fantasy, because there's so much room to create worlds and people and you can write about impossible things without people wondering why certain things are happening.
Do you write simply for the fun of it, or do you hope to make a career out of it someday?
I write for the fun of it, but I'd love to make a career out of it at some point. At the very least, writing will always be a hobby.
What are you currently working on?
Currently, I'm working on two romance stories, Quote Boy and Rowan & Blake. I'm also trying to do a drabble a day, but have been failing for the last two days.
When you aren't writing, what can we find you doing?
Listening to music for sure, music is like the hydrogen to my writing's oxygen. I also like volunteering at different places, so there's that. I've recently become interested with designing clothes, so I do that now while listening to music. Otherwise, I'm probably getting something to eat.
If you could say one thing to your fans, what would it be?
Just one thing? Well, I'd have to say thank you so much for everything, for all of the votes and comments, and especially the feedback I've gotten on all of my writing, it's been really helpful and really constructive instead of negative. I find it a little hard to wrap my head around the idea that I would have fans, but either way, I want to say thank you for taking a look at any of my work and that I hope you enjoyed it.
