Chapter 8

Peter woke to loud clanking. The sounds of dishes banging together (don't) and people talking. With his spidey senses making the noise worse, it began to give him a headache. Although his eyes were closed, he covered them and rolled over.

"Hey, the kids awake!" Clint exclaimed from the sofa which faced almost opposite from the couch Peter was on. Peter flinched cause of the noise and threw a pillow, but he completely missed it since he wasn't looking.

"Oooh, is Peter grumpy?" Clint teased. Peter slowly opened his eyes and gave Clint a deathly stare. Clint bit his lip and looked away, trying to ignore the look Peter gave him.

"Pete, you want waffles?" Natasha asked after a few minutes. She was in the kitchen but Peter heard her clearly.

"Sure." He mumbled. Natasha didn't respond, she just started to make the waffles. Everyone continued talking at normal volumes, but it was like screaming to Peter. He knew about his enhanced senses, but they've never been this bad. He opened his eyes but immediately regretting it. It felt like the light stabbed his eyes and took them out of his socket. He covered his face with his hands, hoping all this pain would go away. Fortunately he had calmed down, allowing himself to fall asleep.

"Kid?" Tony asked, hovering over the sleeping kid. It was almost 2pm and Tony was getting worried. Peter never sleeps in this late and the last time he did was when he came to the facility injured after a mission. He passed out in the doorway and didn't wake for another 15 hours. This time is different. He wasn't injured or sick. There was no complaints from Peter or notifications from FRIDAY that something was wrong. Also, Tony was the one to worry a whole bunch if something was wrong with his loved ones.

"Kid, gonna wake up?" Tony said a little louder causing Peter to groan and to whisper something.

"What was that?" Peter covered his ears and replied with a little louder of a whisper.

"Senses are going crazy. Sounds like you're yelling, please whisper. Also turn off the lights." Tony knelt down to Peter frowning. He told FRIDAY to turn off the lights but through his phone, in fear FRIDAY wouldn't hear him or he would hurt Peter. The lights dimmed and Peter slowly opened his eyes.

"Hey." Tony whispered.

"I don't know what's going on. Don't ask." Peter whispered back. Tony nodded and then changed his position to be sitting on the floor, rather than uncomfortably kneeling.

"Can you get up?" Tony asked. Peter just shrugged and covered himself with blanket more. He tried to turn himself into a small ball, but his body ached and gave up halfway. He winced at the pain, causing Tony to feel the same, yet on the inside. Anytime Peter was upset or at least not smiling and laughing, Tony felt the same. All the happiness and joy Tony had, came from Peter. Peter was always laughing and in a good mood. Tony felt proud of himself for keeping his kid happy, but in times like this, his insides broke down and all he felt was pain.

"Alright, all the avengers are gone on a mission and won't be back till tonight. I can cancel the press conference tomorrow, if that's what you want?" Tony asked. Peter didn't reply, he just sat there. Sat there hoping someone else could say what he wanted to say for him.

"Um, you don't need to do that. I- I'll get better." Peter croaked. Tony nodded and began to get up, but was stopped by a soft touch on his leg. He looked down and saw Peters first two fingers touching him.

"Don't leave." He whispered. Those two words broke down Tony even more. It was like someone took a box with all his happiness and destroyed it. Like they lit the box on fire, then repeatedly hit it with a hammer.

"I'm not leaving. I'm getting you water and food. Natasha made waffles, but left them in the fridge for you. I'll stick them in the oven real quick." Peter nodded and tucked his arm back under the blanket.

Tony walked into the kitchen avoiding every creak in the floor. He memorized the floor and where the creaks were, incase literally anything like this happened. He opened the fridge quietly and pulled the plate of waffles out, placing them on the counter. He closed the door quietly, but Peter winced, causing Tony to blame and yell at himself a whole bunch in his head. More carefully, he turned the oven on and put the waffles on an oven safe pan. After putting them in the oven, he filled a cup up wit water and headed back to Peter.

"Hey, I got water." Tony said, setting the cup on a small table next to Peters head. Tony decided to take his shoes off, and then sat on the floor next to the couch Peter was on. Peter tried to sit up, but winced the entire time. Tony had to help him up a few times, but after a minute, Peter sat up. Tony looked at him worryingly but Peter just blinked. He handed the cup to him and Peter slowly drank the cold water. The cup was taken away from him and set on the table.

"Whats going on kid?" Tony asked, although he was pretty sure he already asked the question a million times. He just wanted to know that his kid was okay.

"I just woke up like this. I don't know." Peter replied in a raspy voice. Tony nodded and they sat in the silence for a while. Finally after what felt like an entirety, Tony said.

"Get some rest, that's the only thing you can do right now. I'll work on a medicine while you're sleeping." Peter didn't say anything. He just moved his head in what looked like a mix of a nod and a shake. He slowly positioned himself back to laying down, but groaned at the pain. Tony stood up, covered him back up with the blankets and kissed his forehead.

"I love you kiddo. Fell better." And with that, Peter was out, into a deep sleep.

The smell of burning food woke Peter. He opened his eyes and found himself in a dark room. He was all sweaty from the blankets on him.

"What time is it?" Peter whispered to himself as he turned to see the clock. 1:47AM. He didn't remember anything. All he remembered was falling asleep after Ned was over. Did he really sleep that long? He sat up and felt no pain. He felt perfectly fine, except for hot, for many reasons. He was covered in a heavy blanket and the oven was running for some reason.

"The fuck?" Peter got closer and saw some type of burnt food on the tray. He turned the oven off and touched the handle to take the food out.  Instead of what he thought would happen, heat shot through him, stinging his hand and causing a buzzing in his head from the spidey sense.

"Holy shit! Jesus fucking CHIRST!" Peter shouted, rushing over to the sink, then pouring cold water over his red hand. While muttering more swears to himself, Tony rushed out of the elevator looking for Peter after hearing his scream.

"Pete? You alright?" Tony whispered, unaware of his condition.

"What? Why are you whispering?" Peter turned the water off and covered his hand with a cold, wet towel.

"Your senses aren't all crazy anymore?" Tony asked, raising the volume his voice little by little. Peter just shook his head and Tony sighed. He walked over and flicked on the lights that hovered over the island.

"Why is it so late? Did I actually sleep for like 30 hours?" Peter asked, sitting on a stool.

"Uh, well you woke up with you senses going crazy. Your eyes were sensitive to light and if I talked like this, your eardrums may have exploded."

"Oh, that happens sometimes. I dunno why, though. Too lazy to research it." Peter smiled, adjusting the towel on his hand. Tony let out a sigh, which had an annoyed and mad tone added to it.

"Oh hey, isn't there a press conference today?" Peter asked.

"Uh yeah, you should get some sleep for it. It's gonna be long and you'll be tired and bored there." Tony advised.

"I just slept for what, 30 hours? I don't need to sleep!" Peter complained.

"Yeah, I said the same and look at me." Tony chucked quietly to himself and Peter just sighed.

"I'll be in the lab if you need anything." Tony said after a minute, then started to walk away.

"Hey wait, can I stay in there with you? I mean, I have like nothing to do right now." Peter quieted down, feeling a tad embarrassed. Tony turned around and a grin spread across his face.

"'Course kid," Peter ran up to Tony, "hey, I've been meaning to talk to you about this, but I wanna add some upgrades to your suit, and I want your input." Tony wrapped his arm around Peters shoulder and Peter replied with a nod. They walked into the elevator and Peters mouth started spilling with ideas for what to do with his suit. Tony chuckled at his excitement, and by the time Peter was only halfway done with his ideas, they reached the lab and Tony just told him to write it down. Peter scribbled down all his ideas and gave it to Tony. After reading through it, Tony laughed a little and started working, with Peter along his side.

For the next few hours (they were so busy they didn't keep count, for all they know, they could've been in there for five days), Peter and Tony worked on upgrades. Of course, most of Peters ideas were either not used or criticized. Some of them were 'Red and Gold suit' or 'Suit like iron man'. Obviously, Tony wouldn't give him a suit anything like his own. Leaving Peter with a suit with blasters? No thanks for Tony. They fixed his web shooters, and worked on a new formula for the webs. About half way through, Peter began to get bored, so that left him finding scraps of metal, wood, etc from the floor and building random things. The two both so concentrated on what they're doing, didn't even hear the knock from the glass door.

"Tony!" A voice shouted loud enough for Tony to actually notice.

"Bruce?" Tony turned around in his swivel chair and saw his best friend, Bruce Banner, standing behind the glass. Bruce just gave a smile.

"FRIDAY, open the door." Peters head perked up.

"FRIDAY's working? What happened?"

"Oh, someone hacked it. I'm not sure who though. Probably some dumb college student." Peter just shrugged and continued working while Bruce entered the room.

"Hey, who's the kid?" Bruce whispered, but Peter was too focused to notice.

"My...kid."

"You have a kid?" Bruce said a little louder than he expected, causing Peter to look up.

"Oh, hi Bruce! How was France, or wherever you were?" Peter smiled, getting up and hugging Bruce. Bruce sighed with a 'Good' and wriggled himself out of Peters grip.

"Why so harsh? Let the kid hug you." Tony laughed, finally setting down his tool.

"You know how I am with hugs." Bruce gave a playful glare and then sat on a stool in between Peter and Tony.

"Hey, what time is it FRIDAY?" Tony asked the AI.

"6:48AM, sir." Peter looked up once again, but with surprise and confusion plastered all over his face.

"Six hours? We've been in here for six hours? Damn." Peter softly laughed to himself, then stretched his back.

"Watch that language." Tony raised an eyebrow.

"It's just 'damn'!" Peter gasped, overreacting.

"Hey, also we got that press conference soon. It starts at nine. Why don't you go to your room and do teenager things, like play on that PS4 or watch dumb videos on insta-chat." Tony waved his had at Peter, signaling him to leave.

"It's instagram, by the way." Peter corrected.

"Yeah whatever, I forgot."

"You made the app! How do you not know the name?"

"I make a lot of things, I've lived a long life, you expect me to remember everything?" Peter chuckled and left the lab. Instead of taking the elevator to his room, he went down to the common room. Natasha, Steve, Sam and Bucky were all down there, eating.

"Oh hey guys, what are you doing?" Peter asked, stepping into the kitchen.

"Eating, we got another mission after this. Natasha answered, stuffing a bite of pancake into her mouth.

"When did you get home?"

"About an hour ago, were gonna talk to you and Tony, but we just decided to leave you to be." Steve rinsed his plate off.

"Yeah, and we really should be leaving." Natasha collected everyone's plates and put them in the sink.

"Well you guys have fun, I guess." Peter went over to the fridge and pulled out a carton of orange juice. He poured it into a blue, plastic cup with spider-man plastered all over it. This cup was his and his only. Tony, Bruce, and Steve have alike ones, but with them on it.

"Tell your dad we'll be gone for most of the day." Steve told Peter, placing his plate into the sink.

"Yep." Peter went over to the couch and turn on the TV. Clicking on the Netflix app, he drank from the orange juice, which ended up being sour and probably really old. He spit it out, leaving a stain on the white couch.

"Uhh," Peter panicked and covered the wet spot with a throw pillow, "better, no one will notice." He set down the cup of old orange juice and grabbed the remote.

After a few minutes of looking through movies and TV shows, he finally found one, Flash. Ned has been recommending this show for months, mainly cause Flash is a superhero and so is Peter. He was never big on watching TV shows, but he thought, 'It couldn't hurt' (uh peter, it could do you not know how many people die? Okay but H.R.s death was the saddest, ngl) He pressed play, expecting to only watch half an episode and then switch over to Star Wars, but he ended up watching three and a half episodes.

"Peter?" Tony asked, trying to bring his kid back into reality.

"What?" Peter blinked, turning around, seeing Tony standing behind the couch.

"Its 8:30, get ready."

"Oh shii-shoot," Tony tilted his head, waiting for the swear, "I'll get ready." Peter switched the TV off and ran up to his room. To be faster, he took the stairs and webbed himself up at top speed. He wished he knew there were stairs before cause he'd could've used this option to get downstairs so many times.

He ran into his room and threw his clothes off. Stopping in the bathroom, he saw a black tux laying on the counter. He sighed and took the rest of his clothes off. When stepping in the shower, the water burned his back, causing him to yell a little. After taking the quickest shower, he dried himself off and put the tux on.  He combed his hair out, gelled it and then ran back downstairs.

"You were literally up there for 10 minutes. How?" Tony laughed a little, seeing that Peter got ready so fast.

"I dunno?" Peter panted, tying his shoes that Tony just gave him.

"Okay well, I gotta get ready. If I'm not down here by 8:55, tell FRIDAY to remind me. You can now continue your episode." Peter nodded and flipped over the couch. Going back to the episode he was on, Tony left Peter to get ready.

"Kid, c'mon, time to go." Tony said, grabbing the remote from Peters hands.

"No! No, no, no wait. The flash! Barry Allen, he- he's gonna save the people!" Peter complained, keeping his eyes on the screen.

"Guess what?" Tony asked, his finger hovering over the power button, "I don't care." He shut the TV off right before the flash was going to do something really cool. Peter yelled dramatically , standing up on the couch trying getting the remote back from Tony.

"We have to go!" Peter groaned and got down from the couch. He followed Tony to the garage, who still had the remote in his hand.

"Oh, by the way, we'll get home at about five." Peters eyes widened, and started complaining. Complaining about every little thing in the five minute drive.

"Alright spidey, let's calm down." Tony laughed, wrapping his arm around Peter.

Sorry for my slow ass update, also I'll read over this later for mistakes, don't feel like it now. Okay bye
