Chapter 9

The two, basically celebrities, pulled in the parking lot and into a garage. There were multiple security guards surrounding the building, some holding weapons.

"Alright, first I do a speech, then there's a whole lot of pictures, and then we just hang out and party and I'll probably be drunk." Peter chuckled at the last part and nodded.

"What if I like, don't want to do any of this?" Peter asked, trying to get his point across. Tony knew Peter didn't want to be here, but since he promised the press he'd be revealing a surprise, Peter kinda had to come.

"I know you don't want to do this, if you get bored or feel sick, or anything, there's a back room with just tables and chairs and a mini fridge just for us. Happy will probably be in there most of today, so you'll have company." Peter already knew he'd take every chance to be in that room and not around a bunch of rich and fancy people he didn't know.

The two walked through a gate and there were a few camera flashes. Not everyone was there, so the only ones were there weren't paying attention. Tony directed Peter to the hidden room, and like Tony said, Happy was just chilling in there. He had a laptop out and a movies was playing.

"FRIDAY is hooked up in here, kinda like an Alexa, so if you need anything, I'll get an alert on my phone or watch." Tony waved his wrist around, showing off his smart watch. Peter nodded once more and followed Tony out of the room, behind a curtain. He could hear more people entering the building. Tony told him to relax and not to worry, but being in front of crowds was something he hated. He was always scared of messing up and getting embarrassed. Or maybe him forgetting what to say and totally freaking out. But there was no backing out of this. If he messed anything up, he knew damn well I'd be turned into a meme within two seconds.

"I'll announce myself and say a few things, but once after I say your name, come out from behind and say a few things. There'll be questions, so be prepared for annoying people screaming at you." Peter laughed a little, then let out a nervous breath. His leg bounced, but then he notices Tony was acting the same. Maybe it isn't so bad that he's nervous.

"Alright kid, remember what you gotta do." Tony grinned as he walked through he curtains. Peter heard everything he said, mainly due to the fact that there were speakers behind him.

"Hello everyone, of course it's me, you don't need to know my name since you all should know it. Of course, this gathering was created for a reason, not just for fun. You should all know, I'm announcing a  surprise to everyone here. Now this isn't something ordinary, like me buying a company or recruiting another Avengers. No you see, I'd like to share with you all, my son, Peter Parker!" Peters heart rate inclined as he walked through the curtains. The lights blinded him at first, but his eyes adjusted quickly.

"Hello everyone," Tony handed off the microphone, "My name is Peter Parker, and of course, I'm Tonys son." Peter gave a small smile as questions erupted from the room.

"Yes, the lady in the pink dress." Tony called out.

"If you're Tonys son, why is your last name 'Parker', and not 'Stark'?" She asked.

"Well uh, he isn't my biological dad, he adopted me. Plus, I guess we've never gone over last names really. Having my last name of Parker won't change anything about me being his son." Tony glanced over at Peter, grinning.

For the next hour or so, Tony called on people and Peter answered their questions. Most of them were about how they knew each other and why Tony adopted, but was anyone surprised. With all the talking and camera flashes, Peter began feeling sick inside. A headache pounded every few minutes inside his head and all he wanted to do is join Happy in that little room.

"Tony?" Peter whispered softly on the stage, but Tony still heard him.

"You done?" Peter replied with a weak nod and Tony took the microphone away from him. He announced that there will be no more questions. As they left the stage, even more camera flashes blinded Peter, but thankfully they made it behind the curtain before the whole roar of the crowd.

"You feeling okay?" Tony asked, kneeling down.

"I-I don't know. I just feel sick inside, but maybe I was just nervous."

"Hey, let's send you to the room with Hap. He's either asleep or has his music on full volume in his earbuds, so you don't be a bother to him." He guided Peter back to the room and gave a fresh recap of he room. Like Tony said, Happy was asleep in the chair with his movie still running.

"Have fun, doing whatever you do in here." Tony smiled, then left the room to do whatever he does. Peter sighed and sat down on the metal chair.

"This- fucking- dammit- urrg." Peter mumbled, grabbing at the tie he had one. It was choking him and very uncomfortable.

"Need help?" A voice from behind said. Peter stopped everything that he was doing and turned around, quickly.

"Nick Fury? Hi? I don't think you should be in here." Peter questioned.

"That's alright, I just wanted to continue out chat we had before." Nick sat down on a chair beside Peter, cause Peter to scoot over to the side and away from him.

"Our- our chat?"

"Well yes, I had to leave before due to...an emergency. I'd like to continue what we were talking about."

"I honestly don't remember much of what you said, really." Peter sighed, wishing he wasn't having this conversation right now. He came to this room to be alone and not feel sick, but a sick feeling grew from deep inside his stomach.

"Have you told anyone? Tony? Natasha? Maybe Clint?" Nick asked, leaning closer.

"No, I-I haven't told anyone. You're talking about the 'Hail Hydra' whisper thing, right?" Nick only responded in a nod, then leaned back.

"It's safe." Nick said into his wrist, and soon after, multiple SHIELD agents came into the room. One of them carried Happy out, but he was still asleep.

"What's going on?" Peter asked, looking at everyone around him.

"We just need to keep you safe." Nick said, in an assuring tone. One of the agents handed him a black brief case and Nick opened it. Inside, there was a syringe and some sort of blue liquid.

"What is that? What's going on? Where's Tony?" Peter panicked and stood up, only to be pushed back down into the chair by an agent.

"Don't worry, you won't feel a thing. Why don't you bite down on this," an agent handed him a dirty rag and Nick shoved it into Peters mouth, "you'll be alright, Peter." Another agent took some high tech handcuffs and cuffed him to come sort of device they planted into the ground. Two hands were on Peters shoulders, holding him down, put Peter tried his best to wiggle out of them.

"Hold still." Nick commanded, as all the blue liquid was in the syringe. He gave a evil smile and without hesitation, shot all the liquid inside of him. Peters eyes went wide, in terror, then they closed.

"Is it working, sir?" One of the SHIELD agents asked.

"Of course. You," Nick pointed at the one who was holding down Peter, "stay here until he starts seizing. Stark will come." They nodded and tightened their grip on Peter, but Peter didn't move. He just sat there, lifeless. Lifeless, until a harsh gasp came out of his mouth. His forehead was covered in sweat and he was shaking.

"On my way out." The agent let go of Peter as he talked to the microphone on his wrist. He collected the leftover supplies from Nick and ran out of the room, leaving Peter.
