William Smith's Plans
I got to school. There were a lot of children already there, playing around or gossiping to one another. This school is a noisy one, but one way or another, it calms me...
However, the things that Bill told me concerning Jane and Simon doesn't.
-----
"What does Jane feel about Simon?"
"Why do you want to know that, Sherry? Isn't it a better idea to ask the person herself?" He giggled.
"It was because she's being unreasonable and irrational towards me because of him!" I explained.
"Ah, she's jealous, no?" He beamed a smile. It was a wide smile, no one can consider it fake. It's not fake, but behind that smile, I can tell he's crying his eyes out.
"Yeah, but why?!" I grabbed him by the shoulders and shook him. I saw Simon flinch from the distance.
Bill softly removed my hands from his shoulders and put up a pitiful smile. "Isn't it because she likes him?" He asks for confirmation, his voice is soft and mellow.
I wanted to comfort him, but none of my words will ever reach him. The only one who can comfort him is that person herself. No matter what, I can never be a replacement for her. I couldn't do anything in front of this pitiful man.
"I'll tell you now, Sherry." He started. The atmosphere is gradually becoming more tense, his smile fading away with every word that comes out of his mouth. "Jane is a really jealous woman. I know you can't help being in most situations with him, but it's better if you make efforts."
He pats my head, walking away. Neither of us looked back at each other. The atmosphere was tense as he left me alone.
-----
I sighed as I sat down on my seat, dropping my bag loudly.
"You really don't like school, do you?" And as usual, the annoying seatmate started opening his mouth again, putting his nose where it doesn't belong. Again, I don't see what Jane sees in him.
"Well, for a reason, I guess your existence has something to do with it!" I retorted.
"To be fair, this place is peaceful before you came." He sighed, turning his head to the window with his left palm supporting it, looking all bored. For me, it has become his usual pose to put his head on his left hand and look out the window.
"My mind was also peaceful before you started running your mouth off." I protested, clicking my tongue in annoyance.
"Not my fault your mind was noisy in the first place."
I took my bag and raised it over my head, already ready hitting him with it, but an arm held mine before I even drop it down on his stupid hard head.
"Bare with it. He's just always like that." Bill chuckled. His grip on my arm is weak, but with enough resistance, he caught my attention and ultimately lowered my strength.
"I can't let this guy off ruining my mood early in the morning!" I tried to justify myself.
"If he's bothering you that much, why won't you change seats with me, then?" His smile rarely fades away. Even if he's against scary old dudes, he doesn't fight back. Instead, he just befriends them so easily. So why... did his smile fade away whenever Jane and Simon are concerned together?
"Good idea!" I cheered. He and I both hooked arms with each other in unison. I guess smart minds think alike.
I hurriedly took my bag and rushed to where his seat is, somewhere in the middle, surrounded by classmates which I don't even interact with. It's easy to go and make a first impression on them. I'd say this is really more peaceful than being beside that loudmouth!

"Hey, what are you planning, William?" Simon scoffs, not even looking at Bill. His eyes are still glued to the window, and his left hand doesn't seem to budge either.
"Hm?" Bill innocently looked at the guy in question, despite the other not even glancing at him. "Nothing?" He answered.
