Chapter 28 (Multiple POV)
Harper POV
Sleeping was the only time she got to see Blue anymore. She often dreamed of the first few days they were together.
It was the first time they had gone to Yellow and Robbie's house.
She looked over from Blue's lap, down at the pile of books, noticing some from before. Had he carried those along? The one with the person on the front seemed smaller. So, these must be Yellow's books. Harper smiled at Robbie, Yellow really was teaching Blue.
Her lizard snuggled up to her, placing a book in front of us. Like last night, he read the words aloud, but they made no sense. She just listened to his deep voice, and looked at the pictures, chewing on a hard granola bar.
Robbie was in Yellow's arms, but she put him down, and padded off. He looked after her, but stayed close to me. “I know those books,” Robbie said with a wide smile, touching a page; Blue gently moved Robbie's hand away. He did the same if I tried to touch them. “Mom brings them out whenever she wants to give me something new.” He pointed to the cartoonish human eating some kind of fruit. “They're books about us.”
She nodded, she already knew that. "He's trying his best to care for you," Robbie said, she already knew that as well.
Watching Blue flip pages that she couldn'tread was boring. Her head started listing to the side, and leaned heavily into Blue, trying to concentrate on the pictures, but that deep voice was so soothing.
Even then, waking up to a sharp hiss, Harper had known she wasn't in danger, wasn't in trouble. Not really. Yellow was standing in front of them, she looked angry. Harper pressed into Blue, hiding her face, but not before seeing the granola bar glued to the page with whatever honey substitute was in it.
Blue gurgled an apology, and Yellow tried to take off the bar, hissing and tail thumping as the page ripped in two.

Zlelzon POV
Sleeping was the only time he got to see Piper anymore. He often dreamed of the first few days they were together
Mouth hung slack at what was happening, the furry head beneath scales scales cheek was so soft, making a good pillow. Her hair was just starting to grow back, and was no longer spikey like a hatchlings first scales.
She snored softly, had trusted the large reptilian enough to sleep on him. Blue felt honored, and hoped this was only the start of how she would trust him.
It was ruined when Yellow woke her up, pointing to the ruined book. Blue knew about the dropped human treat, had he moved it, it may not have stuck. But he didn't want to move and risk waking his pet. "I'm sorry, I'll buy you a new one," he offered, stiffening as Piper pushed her face into his neck. Even with their blunt teeth, a neck bite would hurt. But, she wasn't trying to bite, she was trying to go back to sleep. "She's so cute, how can you be mad?"
Yellow sighed, "I'm not mad at her, I'm mad at you." But her words melted into a soft coo as Piper yawned and blinked slowly as she looked between us. "Why are humans so cute!" Yellow whisper shouted as Piper fell asleep again.
