Chapter Seven

"You should have worn more sunscreen," Layla says shaking her head at her burnt friend. Taylor glares at her.

"I did, many times." She says and Layla shakes her head. She rubs the aloe in on Taylor's back. "Cold." She says as the gel makes contact with her skin.

"Ok, now just wait for it to dry," Layla says. They both walk out of the bathroom, Taylor only able to wear swimsuit top.

"Damn, you burn quickly," Chloe says. Taylor nods her head and starts waving her arms to get the gel to dry quicker.

"That's just going to make you colder," Leland says putting on a shirt.

"I know, but then I can get a sweatshirt on." She says still waving her hands. Analyze laughs as she walks past her. Taylor glares at her. She's already tan.

"Ok, what did we have planned today?" Leland asks knowing the answer.

"Time to go with the fish," Carson says pinching his nose and swaying down to the ground. The group laughs at him.

"Yes, but we need everything packed for the boat." He says grabbing his backpack. "We are on the boat until late, so whatever you think you may need or want grab." He says and brings to pack.

Taylor walks over to the couch and bends to pick up her bag, but her side protests. She winces and instead squats down to grab the bag. She packs sunscreen and aloe as her first things. She then packs some warm clothes knowing that on the water can get cool. She also packs another swimsuit just in case.

Once she feels she's packed everything she realizes she's dry enough to put on a shirt. She grabs a nice cream colored shirt and goes to put it on, but she can't extend her arm up. She grabs it with her left hand and tries to get it over her head. "Let me help you," Analyze says seeing her struggle.

"Thanks." Taylor says with a laugh. She helps get it over her head and then Taylor begins to try and get her arm through the hole. "This is so much work." She says as Analyze is trying to help. Once Taylor gets the shirt on she realizes that it's killing her side. "Layla?" She asks. She stops packing and walks over to her.

"Yeah?"

"Do you have a crop top by chance?" She asks.

"Um, maybe. Why? You don't wear them." She asks confused.

"I can't have something tight on my side. It's making it hurt." She says and Layla nods. After helping her out of the shirt, she quickly walks to her suitcase.

"Let's try this." She says holding out a wavy bold blue one. "Step into it. It might be easier." She says bringing it down to her feet. She helps Taylor get it on and once it is, Taylor smiles.

"I'm never stepping in front of another fight again." She says.

"Good," Layla says and looks at the outfit. "That's cute. The shorts and top go together."

"Yeah, and the straps are right on my suitsuit, so no sunburn pain." She adds looking down at herself.

"Did you get everything packed?" She asks.

"I think so. I have the sunscreen and aloe." Taylor says trying to think of anything else she may need. "Julia and Leland said they'd pack the food, so I'm pretty sure I'm done." She says with a nod of her head.

"Well, Austin's bringing the bags down. You can hand him yours." She says before walking back to her bag. Taylor looks down at the bag on the ground. She stares at it wishing it to come up to her hand.

"What are you doing?" Chloe asks with an amused look.

"Wishing I had powers." She says and squats down to grab her bag. She's about to put it on her shoulder and thinks other wise.

"Don't we all." She says with a light laugh. Taylor nods and walks to the front where the door is. There are two bags on the floor. Instead of putting her's there, she walks out into the hallway. As she rounds the corner Austin almost slams into her.

"Sorry." He says moving to the side quickly. "I can take that down." He says, but Taylor shrugs.

"It's ok, not like I'm going to be helping in there." She says tilting her head back to the room.

"Alright, wait up though." He says and jogs to get the other two bags. "Why is this one so heavy?" He asks pulling it up over his shoulder.

"It's probably Julia's. She's the only one with bright pink." Taylor says with a laugh.

"It's going to sink the boat." He says as they step into an elevator. Taylor laughs and shakes her head at his comment.

"Just wait, Leland and Julia are filling up two coolers." She says. He looks over at her with wide eyes. Taylor busts out laughing, but her side begins to hurt. "Oh, no more laughing for me." She says with a smile. Austin looks at her side with concern. "Don't give me that look. I'm fine." She says and walks out as the door opens.

"How's it feeling today?" He asks as they walk through the front doors and into the heat.

"Alright, doesn't like to be touched and my right arm can't move too much, but other than that it's fine." She says walking to the van. The side door's already open, so she just slides it in with her left hand.

"This is going to be a full car." He says adjusting the bags to make more room.

"Yeah, but taking the truck is going to be a waste of gas and then paying for the parking is going to spike up." She says beginning to walk back to the hotel. They walk side by side up to the room just thinking to themselves.

As they round the last corner Jack runs right past them and then Carson runs into Taylor. Taylor falls to her butt with Carson falling onto her legs. "Ow, ow, ow." She says feeling pain in her side.

"I'm gonna kill you two," Leland says jogging over the accident.

"It's fine. They didn't mean to." Taylor says with a wince. Carsons already up and is looking ashamed. Leland continues to glare at them so Taylor pushes her leg out and kicks him. He looks down at her and she rolls her eyes.

"I'm really sorry Taylor. If I'd seen you-"

"I know. It's fine. I'm alright, just pay attention when you decide to go off chasing someone." She says and lifts herself up. Leland helps and makes sure she can walk before looking back at the boys.

"I'm gonna drown you guys. Just an FYI." He says in a warning voice. Carson looks over at Jack with fear. Taylor laughs lightly at them and walks back to the room. The rest of them follow behind and Julia hits Carson in the back of the head, as well as Analyze to Jack. They both say ow, but shut up when they see their looks.

"Ok, I think we have everything," Layla says coming out of the bathroom.

"Hope so or you're screwed," Leland says grabbing Taylor's keys off the table. Everyone begins leaving the room and heading down to the main floor.

"You should sit in the passenger seat," Austin says getting Taylor's attention. She looks at him confused. "You wanna try and squeeze in with the rest of us?" He asks and she shakes her head.

"Definitely not. I'll end up with bruises everywhere." She says and he laughs.

"They're not that bad...." He says and she raises his eyebrows. "Ok, maybe they are a little rough." As he says as Jack and Leland smash into a wall.

"Boys get yourselves together." Layla scolds. Jack laughs at Leland for getting scolded by his girlfriend.

"At least I have a girlfriend." He says back. Carson, Julia, Austin, and Layla ohh at him.

"Shut up." He says his face getting red. The group continues to laugh, but Taylor notices him glance over at Analyze. She's laughing with Chloe about something.

"Who's driving?" Leland asks holding up the keys. Carson jumps up, but Leland pulls the keys back. "I don't trust you driving come on now." He says. Carson slumps his shoulders childishly.

"I can just need to know where." Austin offers. Leland tosses him the keys and looks at Taylor.

"She can deal with the GPS." He gruffly says. Taylor smiles at her brother shaking her head.

"It's not hard." She mumbles and he turns back to her.

"She hates me." He says causing Layla to laugh and pat him on the back saying it's alright. Taylor rolls her eyes as the two open the van door. Taylor grabs her door handle and pulls it open. She grabs the handle to pull herself up, when pain shoots through her side. She lets go of the handle and glares at her side.

"You alright?" Austin asks walking up behind her.

"Yup, thanks." She says rushed.

"Want some help?"

"No, I've got it." She says looking back to the seat and cursing herself for being short. Austin looks at her and without telling her what he's going to do he grabs low on her hips and helps her up into her seat.

"You were taking too long." He says with a smile and walks over to the driver's seat with Taylor's eyes on him.

"Let's go, we wanna see the fishies." Carson says from the back. Taylor grabs the GPS and they begin driving.
