Chapter 4

*3rd POV*

Night had taken over and the helicopter was long gone. Creatures chittered into the night air, only make Jake even more paranoid. Izzy was fine with the night and the animal noises. Jake held a small contained of matches in his mouth and took off his first layer of clothing, wrapping it around the tree branch he had carved. He began soaking it in sap which he found on the trees.

"Jake, don't do what I think you're doing." Izzy hissed.

They were being stalked by more than just the four of us.

As soon as he ignited the spear which lit up the forest, making, Neytiri, Tsu'tey, Stitch, Jasiri and Izzy wince at the bright light. "Jake!" Izzy hissed.

Jake and Izzy soon discovered the pack of Viperwolves snarling around them. They were black dog like creatures that had a hyena like laugh. They hissed and snarled at the light, while Jake waved it back and forth in front of them, barely keeping them at bay.

"Jake, stop." Izzy pleaded as a Viperwolf had interest in Izzy.

Izzy noticed this and gently held her hand out to it and it nuzzled her hand.

Izzy smiled softly and put her forehead on it's knowing what gender it was. "I see you sister. I see you."

The Viperwolf had ran off happily as Izzy smiled softly.

"They're going to die. We must help." Neytiri demanded quickly as she and Tsu'tey were readying their bows.

They felt torn between the creatures and Izzy and Jake's lives, but they were presented to them by Eywa for a reason. They'd kill only if necessary.

"We cannot interfere. If it's to be the way they die, then he shall die." Stitched hissed at them.

The creatures got closer and closer, following Izzy and Jake as they backed away. They climbed the trees and had fully surrounded them. Jake tried his best to cover themselves from every angle, but it was impossible, as it always left somewhere around them defenseless.

Tsu'tey and Neytiri could sense that Izzy was not harmful even with the dangerous creatures.

"If we do nothing, the male will set the entire forest on fire. They are the will of Eywa, and we will do what we must to save them. Eywa forgive us for what we're about to do." Neytiri and Tsu'tey prayed and began to run.

"Neytiri! Tsu'tey!" Stich and Jasiri hissed, reaching for their arms, but they were too quick. They groaned in annoyance.

*My POV*

The Viperwolves were surrounding us still. "We don't have all god damn night. Come on!" Jake yelled. "Come on!"

"Jake! They don't like the fire!" I hissed.

Some of the Viperwolves jumped from the trees, lunging for them. Jake smacked the first one with the end of the stick, making the creature yelp out in pain. I felt a sting my very soul and hissed quietly.

Another made a lunge at us, but Jake stabbed it with the end of the spear that he had made sharp. Causing the Viperwolf to cry out and whimper. I hissed again. It moved away from Jake, with the spear still stuck in it's side. Tears filled my eyes feeling the suffering of the creature.

Neytiri and Tsu'tey knew what they had to do. Not only would it do the work of Ewya, but it would put an end to the suffering of these creatures.

One snarled Viperwolf snarled at Jake and I and jumped on Jake just as he took out his knife from his pocket. The two fell to the ground and Jake struggled with the creature. I hissed at the bright light of the fire.

Jake managed to slice at it's neck and tossed it away to suffer. Jake rushed in front of me to protect me. More of the wolves charged at me and Jake and two Na'vi's jumped out of the tree line, bows and arrows ready. The female Na'vi aimed and let her arrow fly, hitting the one Jake was struggling with in the heart allowing it a quick death. I hissed again and held my chest where my chest was. The Viperwolf quickly ceased from snapping at our faces any longer.

Jake and I looked up unsure of what had just happened, tossing the creature off of him, only to discover the arrow. We quickly looked around and noticed Neytiri and Tsu'tey. We were surprised to see them protecting us. I immediately knew who they were.

For Jake it was surprising as he had only heard how terrible Na'vi people supposedly were.

Both Na'vi swung their bows, to knock the Viperwolves, hoping to not have to kill any more of them. The male Na'vi grunted as one charged at her from the dark forest and knocked into his chest. The creature knocked them backwards, down a slight knoll on the ground. Jake and I gasped and watched weary of whether to help or stay put. But as they tumbled, the male Na'vi quickly managed to get on top of the Viperwolf and stabbed it over and over with the dagger he pulled from his belt.

I gasped in pain and held my chest where my heart was, tears filled my eyes as I did so.

Jake and I see the male and female Na'vi fight more Viperwolves.

When the danger was clear, they turned around and covered their eyes slightly to block away the unnatural firelight that glowed on the ground. Jake stood to his feet, armed with his dagger, ready to take on the two of us if needed to. I stood up, and stood next to him with an unamused looked. The female Na'vi rolled her eyes at Jake while the male Na'vi and I stared into each others eyes curiously.

We felt drawn to each other, but we shook our heads and looked away from each other.

The female Na'vi grabbed ahold of the fire stick

"Ah, stupid Sky People. Careless. Reckless." The female Na'vi insulted looking around for someplace to put the spear after removing it from the creature. That was what really got my attention as it whimpered in pain.

"Hey, wait! Don't! Jake called out to the female Na'vi as she threw it, making the light go out in the small body of water next to us. Jake chuckled angrily throwing his arms up. "Great."

I could hear the whimpering of the few Viperwolves and I felt their suffering, and the male Na'vi quickly got to work to release them. All while the female Na'vi had dealt with the torch. I sighed and bent down next to the creature with the male Na'vi as I shushed it gently, as the male Na'vi pulled out his dagger.

"We see you, brother and we thank you. You are free to be with Ewya now." We bowed our heads, I feel free from the unneeded pain and suffering, weird.... The female Na'vi joined our sides and rested her hand on the creatures eyes, closing them. They didn't seem to mind my presence.

Jake paid no mind to us as he went into the pool of water for the spear, picking it up and sighing at the fat that there was no way it was going to relight it now. When he lifted his head he began to see what he failed to before. Seeing the luminescence from the plant life all around him. Everything glowed int eh darkness, making it seem not so dark. How had not seen that before? It was a beautiful sight to be seen.

The male and female Na'vi along with me were busy checking all the head or suffering animals and making sure they were at peace. Removing arrows, and putting them out of their misery.

"What do we do with this Moron, now?" The female Na'vi gestured to Jake annoyed as we sent the last one to be at peace with Eywa.

"Which one of us is the Moron?" I asked, they gestured to Jake and I nodded.

Jake then interrupted as he began to speak. "Look, I know you probably don't understand this, but uhm..." Jake bent down on his knees as he spoke. All three of us ignored his words. "But thank you. Thank you, for saving me and my friend." Jake repeated quietly. I facepalmed.

We turned to him and sighed. "That was pretty impressive, what you did when you first came out." Jake chuckled as he met the female Na'vi's narrowed eyes. "We would have been screwed if you two hadn't came along. It was..."

*3rd POV*

Neytiri nudged Tsu'tey's arm gently causing them to look at each other rolling their eyes at Jake. Not wanting to hear any more of Jake's blabbering they began to walk away from Jake. Specially not wanting to listen to his thankful speech. They hoped maybe they could get away and be able to just watch over them from above again. Jake stopped talking realizing that neither of them were listening and was walking away. He watched them for a moment, but quickly got up to follow.

"Jake!" Izzy called out as she raced after him. "Hey, wait a second. Hey, where are you two going?" Jake called after them.

*My POV*

I raced after Jake as he chased after the two Na'vi's. "Wait up! Just....Hey, slow down." Jake jumped forward and tried to grab the female Na'vi's arm. "Look, wait up I just wanted to say thanks for killing those things." His hand barely brushed against the female Na'vi and she felt insane sparks, the four of us felt it for some reason.

The shock alone, plus him touching her in general made her turn around and swing her bow, smacking him across the face with it. The male Na'vi and I cringed slightly and Jake grunted, falling to the ground.

"Damn!" He hissed, feeling his cheek. I smacked him upside the head.

The female Na'vi pointed the end of her bow at Jake. "Don't thank. You don't thank us for this." She shook her head, and narrowed her eyes, like she was staring into his soul. "This was very sad. Very sad only."

"Okay." Jake put up his hand in defense. "Okay. I'm sorry. Whatever I did, I am sorry."

I rolled my eyes and hit him again. He grunts. The male Na'vi walked towards us. "All this is your fault. They did not need to die." He scoffed.

"Our fault?" Jake scoffed back. "They attacked us. How am I the bad guy?"

I lost my temper at that. "Your fault!" I yelled at him, pushing my hand at him. Jake backed away as well as he could being on the ground. "You're the one that lit the fire, those creatures didn't like it, I tried to tell you, but you didn't listen!" I yelled at him.

"Ey! Whoa!" Jake said holding his hand out to protect himself.

"Your fault." The male Na'vi hissed.

"Easy, easy. Shh." Jake said.

"You're like a baby. Making noise, don't know what to do." The female insulted him, and Jake pushed her bow away.

"Hey, shh. Fine. Fine." He said as he go tup from the ground slowly. "If you two love your little forest friends, why not just let them kill our asses? What's the thinking?" Jake asked, making the both of them stiffen and looked at us confused.

"Why save you?" The male asked quietly, making sure that was what he wanted to know.

"Yeah. Yeah, why did you save us?" Jake asked, looking into the female Na'vi's eyes once again. But they looked away and the four of us caught each others eyes. We all stared deeply into each other's eyes.

*3rd POV*

Jake too, along with Izzy, felt strangely comforted by Neytiri and Tsu'tey, even though they had threatened him mere moments ago. Like when you meet an old friend, and yet, they'd never seen them before in their lives. They were sure of it.

"You have a strong heart." Neytiri stated softly. "No fear."

*My POV*

We all smiled at each other before the two Na'vi's walked away.

Jake smirked to himself, both of us thinking about the female and male Na'vi's. But Jake quickly realized they were walking away again.

"Well, if I'm like a child, then, uh, maybe. Look, maybe you should teach me." Jake said using the moment he felt to his advantage.

I looked at him surprised. "Sky People cannot learn, as you do not see." The female Na'vi explained with the roll of her eyes and they kept walking.

"Well, then teach us how to see." Jake insisted.

"No one can teach you how to see, and female here, already knows." The male Na'vi said.

I smiled at his words, thankful.

"Whoa." Jake came to a quick stop seeing that he was on a connecting tree trunk high above the ground. I quickly jumped over to they were walking on with ease.

Jake weighed our options to turn around and go back, but his stubbornness and otherwise. The two of the Na'vi's in front of us kept walking away with ease. "Look, come on, can't we just talk? Maybe, us and you two? Say, like where did you learn to speak English? Dr. Augustine's school? Ugh, whoa!" Jake asked and nearly tripped as his spear got caught in the vines of the tree. His body swiveled back and forth like he was going to teeter off the edge.

I yelped as I almost fell with him, but strong arms wrapped around me, and I noticed it was the male Na'vi. We stared at each other for a few moments, before we smiled at each other and let go of each other.

The female Na'vi saw him struggle and quickly swung around, grabbing a hold of him and pulling him upward. Me and the male Na'vi realized her head met his chest and they were very close. Much to close for her liking and yet her body betrayed her. She felt her cheeks flush hot and tried to hide her blush by scowling at him.

The male Na'vi and I watched curiously at their interaction. But...we felt...jealously?

"See? Like a baby." The female scoffed. "I swear, he'll get himself killed." She explained and she rolled her eyes stepping away from him, her blue cheeks still tinted pink.

We all began to stay together. "I need your help." Jake said softly reaching out and touching the female and male Na'vi's hands, along with mine. All of us felt the tingle of electricity rush through our connected skin.

"You should not be here." She sighed and shook her head, stepping backwards away from Jake, the male Na'vi following as they stepped away from Jake and me.

I stood next to Jake. "Okay, take us with you." Jake stated gently.

"No. Go back." The male said harshly, figuring he needed a stern warning. "It's against the rules. Sky People are not allowed."

"Jake, they said it was against the rules, we have to get back." I said softly.

"No." Jake followed after them as they tried to walk away again, grabbed the female's hand and not letting go.

"No!" They shouted and the female ripped her hand away. "We refuse to endanger our people." They hissed and took their hands and pushing at our first chests. "Go...back." They started angrily and their voice softened as we felt the presence of Eywa.

We quickly looked into the sky to see hundreds of Seedling's floating towards us. I smiled softly. The two Na'vi's were confused as they looked up and smiled. Jake turned to see what the three of us had been looking at, seeing the small spirit like creatures beginning to surround me and him. When the two Na'vi's opened their eyes, we all saw Jake swat at one.

"Don't do that!" The female Na'vi hissed reaching out and holding his hand down. He didn't fight her hold, but as more came down he reached out with the other hand and swatted at another one. "No! Don't do that!" The female Na'vi said sharply, holding onto his arm tighter.

I watched in amazement as the Seedling's surrounded Jake and I. The female Na'vi known as Neytiri and the male Na'vi known as Tsu'tey watched in amazement as well.

Jake and I raised our arms, allowing the spirit's to land on us gently.

"W-What? What are they?" Jake asked curiously, keeping very still and while I was smiling wide.

I heard Eywa's voice in my head again. "My child, you and your friend are the chosen ones for Tsu'tey and Neytiri, but stay alert, your friend seems to be keeping something from you."

I was confused, what would Jake hide from me?

Neytiri and Tsu'tey heard voices saying that me and Jake were the chosen ones.

"These are Seeds of the Sacred Tree. Very pure spirits." I said softly noticing that Neytiri and Tsu'tey quietly still in awe.

"Uh-huh." Jake said, not willing to move even his mouth. Jake and I chuckled a little as Neytiri and Tsu'tey began to look at us, inspecting us very closely. The Spirits lifted from our bodies. "What was that all about?" Jake asked.

"We will always do your will, Great Mother. Come." Neytiri and Tsu'tey said simply. Jake and I didn't move so, they grabbed our hands and pulled. "Come."

"Where are we going?" Jake called after them.

They ran ahead and down another path leading him towards their home. Jake accidentally touched one of the glowing mushrooms on our way by, making it glow even more. He was intrigued by the plant and continued to hit more of them as he wondered down the path after me, Neytiri and Tsu'tey.

Neytiri and Tsu'tey stepped across a small brook over mossy covered stones that illuminated as their bare feet touched them. Tsu'tey offered his hand to me, I smiled and took it as he helped me up.

We turned to see Jake playing with the mushrooms. Neytiri, Tsu'tey and I had small smiles curl upon our lips.

"Come." Neytiri called out and Jake immediately turned towards her.

The four of us began moving quickly through the forest and we were getting closer to their home. Jake couldn't shake the feelings he had for Neytiri and I couldn't shake the feelings I had for Tsu'tey, and Jake didn't even know Neytiri's name.

"What's your names?" Jake and I called out.

The warriors heard our voices, gaining their attention, prompting two of them to threw a rope at our feet.

"Shit!" Jake exclaimed as the ropes tripped both of us to the ground below. Neytiri and Tsu'tey skid to a stop and quickly ran back towards us.

Jake and I undid the ropes from our feet and Jake pulled out his dagger as warriors rode in on their direhorses. Jake tried to run dragging me to make an escape, but were quickly met with pointed bow and arrows of warriors on the ground level. The direhorses surround us, and the people riding them aimed their bows. Jake chuckled nervously and dropped his dagger from his hand and we raised our hands. I prayed to Ewya that we wouldn't die.

Neytiri and Tsu'tey leapt over the tree and down into the circle where Jake and I were surrounded and growled at them. "Calm people, calm." They assured them sternly. Than the Na'vi's Ryan and Skylar climbed off their direhorses and walked quickly towards Jake and me.

Neytiri and Tsu'tey ran forward and jumped in front of us, placing their hands on their chests. "What are you doing, Ryan? Skylar?" They asked sternly, holding them back and looking into their eyes. Their hands reached up and grabbed theirs.

"These demons are forbidden here." Ryan and Skylar spat at us, and looked at Neytiri and Tsu'tey calmly. Neytiri and Tsu'tey pushed them backwards and gestured to Jake and me.

"There has been a sign from Eywa. This is a matter for the Tsahik." Neytiri explained as her eyes narrowed.

That's when I knew, Jake and I were screwed.

"Bring them." Ryan and Skylar huffed ad climbed back aboard their direhorses. Neytiri and Tsu'tey looked back at Jake and I giving us sympathetic looks.

"What's going on?" Jake asked concerned as we were surrounded again. "They're taking us to their home." I whispered to him.

"Neytiri, Tsu'tey come." Ryan and Skylar commanded, reaching their hands down towards Neytiri and Tsu'tey. They sighed and grabbed ahold, allowing them to pull them onboard with them, wrapping their hands gently around their waists.

"Wait!" Jake called out after them.

"Jake, for once, shut up!" I told him harshly as I slapped him upside the head.

"Come now, we ride, home." Ryan and Skylar commanded.
