-Chapter Three-

Reverend walked down a sewer hallway and it opened up into a large round room with hunters and huntresses standing, walking, speaking and going about their business. There were countless hunters. Some dressed in rags, some as warriors, others in formal attire. From all over Europe. From all over the world. Some halflings- half vampire half human, others humans themselves.

Some gentlemen tipped their hats to Reverend. She did the same in return just once. Some pointed having never met Reverend before. Here she was legendary. As the first hunter of vampires and with great success she has a reputation. Still many wonder as to why she isn't head of the organization.

Reverend walked away across the vast room and into another hallway. Down the steps and her heels echoed along the stone walls and she went under the arch way quietly into the war room as another hunter exited. She went in and leaned against the wall patiently with crossed arms. She didn't want to interrupt the ongoing argument she had walked into.

Hezelwiggins hopped down waddling away towards the globe and hopped up onto the rim but neither of the men heard his clutter. It was funny to listen to two men bicker.

"Sir! We've found him! Why the hell are you not allowing us to go bring him back!? If we know he's still alive then there is an even higher likely hood that the vampires know he's alive too and where!", yelled a blonde haired man slamming his hands on the table to get his point across.

"Because he left the Vatican years ago, the man did his time, I do not want to bring him out of his personal peace", replied the elder man. His grey hair pulled back by a leather strap halfway. He wore round glasses and pressed them up looking at the map on his table with markings and notices.

"Sir we need to try! Even hearing his name will frighten the vampires and support our cause!", said the man.

"I'm not looking to bring that man back into this war, he's done his duty", said the elder man.

"Why? Why? You sound like you are protecting him! This is war sir! War! And it will affect him either way! Wether he's with us here or elsewhere! The vampires have been hunting for Van Helsing for decades! They will find him unless we get to him first and I know where he is!", said the man

"No one knows where he is young man! And I can't send you off on some wild goose chase! I don't have hunters to spare for some nonchalant of uncertainty!", yelled the old man.

"Send me! Just send me! I will be willing to do it!", said the man.

"Snyder, you are a very capable hunter, but I cannot have you go off on your own! The only one who I permit to do that is Reverend! You might be a halfling but if you were to fight a vampire on your own then you wouldn't last thirty seconds! Humans would barely last ten! I don't have hunters to spare! And if what you say is true there will be more than just one bloody vampire coming for Van Helsing", said the old man.

"Sir we can't risk it! If he dies you know it will bolster the vampire confidence and they will spread his remains everywhere for us and all to see!", yelled Synder.

"You are being paranoid", said the old man.

"I have this!", said Snyder slapping down a paper towards the elder man. He wasn't letting up. He tapped it speaking.

"This is a signed order for a group to hunt down Van Helsing and it has his general location! They already know where he is!", snapped Snyder.

"Where did you get this?", asked the old man looking at it.

"I got it off of messenger who was supposed to deliver it. To whom I don't know. But this is proof. If anything else we need to bring Van Helsing here and protect him! If you say he's earned his peace it's about to all go south if we don't do anything!", hissed Snyder.

The old man glared at him and grumbled scratching his bread frustrated. There was always a chance that Intel was false and it was just a rouse to be a trap. That had happened in other occasions before similar to this one. Good hunters died each time. If it was true though.....

"When Reverend comes back have Isaac send her here", said Trent.

Reverend who was waiting silently smirked as the room suddenly cooled several degrees and both men gained goose bumps. The old man jolted.

"Good God! For heavens sake Reverend what have I told you about coming in unidentified! Christ!", hissed Trent the old man sitting back in his chair.

Reverend shrugged, "You were preoccupied I didn't want interrupt your.......intriguing conversation", replied Reverend. But she was amused by their reactions. She enjoyed taunting and teasing. It was within her nature to be superior to others.

"Ack.....I can't argue that", mumbled Trent glancing away.

The Irish blonde turned back staring towards Reverend. He had never met her before. He had heard stories. Many stories throughout his childhood of the mysterious hunter who goes by the name Reverend. Reverend didn't pay him any mind and sighed, "I will be on my way then", said Reverend.

"You don't even know where he is", said Snyder.

Reverend extended her hand snapping her fingers for Hezelwiggins to get going and he hopped off the globe and waddled after her. Trent sighed, "Reverend take him with you", said Trent.

"He's very able", said Trent.

Reverend rolled her eyes, "I'm not playing babysitter", she said.

"Missieur I'm honored to be working with you, but you don't have to worry-",

Reverend turned looking back pausing but she looked away, "That is where we differ.....I worry", replied Reverend.

"May God kill me if I don't", she said quietly.
