Taking a deep breath, I turn on my heels and sprint towards the exit, hearing a loud screech behind me. I kept my gaze in front of me, not daring to look back to see how far the creature was from me. I was able to make it a foot away from the exit before a burning sensation ripped through my leg, making me fall to the ground. I twisted around to see the small monster on top of me, one of its arms digging into my leg.

It let out a screech, sinking its other arm into my side. The burning tar smell filled my nose, bringing tears to my eyes. Its arms dug into me, the burning increasing until I could physically feel it sinking into me. Through the tears, I could see it melting my skin away. It moved again, bringing its first arm off my leg, and crawling up closer to my face. I tried pulling myself away, too afraid to touch it and burn my hands.

It pulled itself up until it hung over me, dripping tar landing on me. I shut my eyes and let myself just go completely still, the pain blinding my thoughts until everything became black. The thing was too quick.
