I opened the door to the store and Colby walking in behind me. As we started our daily chores Tabitha cane in and I'm sure she was drunk.

"Get out," Tabitha pointed at the door

"What?" I questioned

"Get out," she repeated

"Why?"

"You're fired," she slurred

"You wish," I replied before turning back to Colby "can you go to the back and get me three snickers, and 7 skittles packages?"

"Yeah," he smiled before walking into the back

Tabitha ended up falling asleep on the table for one of the booths. We both ignored her.

As we continued our process Tabitha got up and left but Jacob and Amber both came In.

"Uhh Bri?" Colby called from the front since I was in the back seeing what we were out of

"Yeah?" I called walking to the front

I looked at our two coworkers

"I thought you guys quit because you hadn't been here forever,"

"Well We're back," amber smiled sarcastically

"Okay well you know what to do," I told them grabbing Colby and I's aprons.

I handed him the brown apron and he slipped the strap over his head. I did the same and then helped him tie it because he still couldn't do it.

Work was a bit slow today unfortunately. We had four workers and couldn't really do anything. Eventually it was closing time

"You all can leave," I told them "me and Colby can close up the shop,"

"Beats me," Tabitha got up and left. Soon Amber and Jacob followed

Then it was just the two of us.

Today was a long work day so the sun was setting outside. I plugged in the radio that I brought and I played a hit radio station.

We both sang the songs we knew and made fun of the ones that were overrated.

Soon our chores were done and we had nothing todo... yet we stayed in the store... alone.

I sat on the counter and watched as Colby walked back in from emoting the trash outside.

"So do you have any plans tonight?" I asked

"Mmm," he thought for a moment before answering "no I don't think so, why?"

"Well I was wondering if you wanted to come over to my place to hang out,"

"That'd be fun," be replied looking at the time "we should probably get going,"

"Yeah,"

I opened the door to my house to see my mom not drunk but kind of anxious.

"Mom?" I asked with Colby still standing behind me "Are you alright?"

She shook her head no.

And with that all to familiar footsteps came down those stairs.

"Hey honey bunches!"

"Dad?"
