Jaylen POV

  "Jay hurry up." Jade said rushing me. "I'm coming, I'm coming." I said as I laced I my shoe and walked out the room. "Thought we was gonna be having air for dinner." Cory said as I sent him a confused look. "I'm quite sure y'all could've just simply ordered something. Childish. Are we walking or you driving?" I asked as I turned to Bobby. "I know a nice spot not to far from here. We can walk." He said as I nodded my head. "We really need to get you a driver's license." Jade said as we walked.

  "Now you came here to vacate, not to get on me. One thing at a time please." I said with my hands up. "Don't worry bae, I'll teach you." He said pulling me close to him. "Aht aht. Not too much" Cory said breaking us apart, earning a laugh from Bobby. "You're such a blocker." I said shaking my head. I pulled out my phone to text Dion and Malika. "We want you're attention. Pay attention to us." Jade whined. "I'm listening, I'm listening." I said beofre I bumped into some one. "Then you would've heard me say look out." she laughed. "I'm sorry." I said to the guy as I looked up at him. Upon inspection, he looked so familiar. "You look like somebody I once knew." I said as he laughed. 

  "It is me Jaylen." he said as I started to cry. "Darren?! Darren!" I yelled as he pulled me in for a bear hug. "I've missed you so much." he said as he cried on my shoulder. I really missed him. My sister cleared her throat. "I'm sorry." I said wiping my face. "Darren, this is my sister Jade, my brother Cory and my boyfriend Bobby." I said motioning each and every one of them. "You really got your life back Jay." he said through tears again. "Wait, did I hear that right. Did you just call him your boyfriend?" he asked as I nodded my head. "My baby done found love! I'm so proud of you!" he said swinging me around. I missed this. "Darren, you're embarrassing me." I laughed.

  "I mean the way you used to talk about relationships, I was beginning to think you would've died with 7 cats or something."  he said as I laughed. "Not another word." "Just saying. It looks like you guys were on your way somewhere so I won't hold you up." he said beginning to walk away as I grabbed him. "Oh no you don't. We just ran into each other and I'll be damned if you go. Bring your ass." I said as he began to walk. "Thank you so much for everything you've done for our brother." Jade said as she hugged him. "I have to thank him for giving me hope. You're brother is amazing." he smiled as we continued to walk. We all took our seats as everyone continued to have conversations among each other. I would glance over at Bobby every now and then only to see him smile at me. "You two are so cute." Darren whispered into my ear. 

  "Stop it." I blushed. "I'll tell you everything later. For now let's just live in this moment." he said as I nodded my head. We all laughed and cracked jokes while we ate. "I gotta finish running some last minute errands. Lemme see your phone." Darren said as he started to get up. I quickly handed my phone as he put his number in and texted himself. "I'll meet up with you later and we'll get into some things." he said hugging me. "It was nice meeting everyone. I'm glad you got your life back Jay." he said waving to everyone as he turned to walk away but stopped. "Oh and you two are so damn cute. I've never seen you smile so hard." "Darren move." I laughed as I flagged him off. "I'm going. I'm going. I'm so glad I found you Jay." he said as I smiled. Everyone also said their goodbye's as well.       

  "I thought you said he was dead bro." Cory asked looking at me confused.  "That's what I thought too. He said he'd tell me more later. I'm just really happy to see him." I said as they smiled. "Well seeing you happy makes me happy. Plus you two seem to have a great friendship.  I want to go to the arcade, y'all ready?" Cory asked as I nodded my head. Bobby paid for my meal (something he refuses to let me do) as Jade and Cory paid for theirs. We walked back to my place to get to Bobby's car. I rode shot gun of course. "Ight so we're playing basketball. Everyone is for themselves." Jade said once we arrived. I shrugged to Bobby as he pouted. Luckily, there was just enough courts freed up for us to all play.

  "Y'all ready?" I asked as everyone grabbed their tokens. "Go." Cory said as we inserted them and the balls came down. Everyone but me missed their first shot, how I know? They all let out a frustrated groan at the same time. I tuned them out and kept going. "Let's see them scores." Jade said confidently as she walked around. "You cheated." she said as she looked at my score. I had 50 points. She had 46 and both Bobby and Cory both had 42.  "It's not my fault I'm better then y'all." I shrugged. We played a few more games before calling it a night. "Thank you for driving us home." I said about to kiss Bobby when jade yanked me back. "Not so fast romeo." She said as he laughed. "Goodnight y'all." He smiled as he pulled off. That's the disrespect right there *facepalm*.

  "Wake up! Wake up!" Jade said jumping on my bed. "Stoooopppp! It's too early!" I groaned as I rolled over. "Don't care. It's my birthday! Now get up!" She yelled as she snatched the covers off me. "It's also about to be your death day. "Uh huh. You're off today so you can make my cake. I can't wait to try it." She said as she danced around the room like a sugar filled 5 year old. "Well I guess you're right. Lemme brush my teeth and get myself together." I laughed as she walked out the room. After doing such, I made my way into the kitchen, where her and Cory were sitting at the counter like little children. "Any idea on the flavor?" "Surprise me." she smiled. I decided on a citrus flavored cake. I started to gather my things and went straight to work. Within a half an hour, I was placing the cake in the oven. I didn't let he see the flavor I put in it (had Cory distract her). 

  "It smells so good!" she said as we were watching TV. "Do you want whipped or regular icing?" "Whipped!" she said as I smiled. I got up and got that started. "Wait, you're making that from scratch?" "Yeah. I hope you didn't think I was gonna go to store." I laughed. I checked on the cake first. It still need a few minutes so I decided to let that just start on the icing. Mid way through, I took the cake out. Now that my icing was done as well, I decided to let it sit for at least five minutes so that it'll be consistent. I looked in my cabinet for my pastry pipe and decorating icing. I had Cory keep jade in the living room while I finished the cake. He told me earlier where he put the candles. "OK. It's all ready for you." I said as Cory brought her into the kitchen. "Hold on." I said as I called my mom. "OK." I said as he removed his hands and we all sung happy birthday. 

  "Make a wish." I said as I watched her blow out the candles. "That cake looks so good. Who made it?" my mom asked as they pointed to me. "Wow Jaylen! That's amazing. I had no idea." "Me either. I guess I'm full of surprises." I said shrugging. "Wait is that filling in the middle?" she said as she cut it. "Just a little bit. Eat it." I smiled at them. "OH MY DAMN! Sorry mom but this cake taste like heaven!" She said as she pretty much devoured that whole slice. "Yo, you're really the truth little bro. This is good as hell." Cory said as he did the same. I smiled as I watched them eat. "I'm sorry. Did you want a piece?" she asked me as I shook my head no. "It's all for you. Enjoy it." I smiled. "Well I'm gonna let you guys go. Enjoy your Birthday Jade." "I already am mom." she said as she hugged me. 

  After they ate their cake, we decided to go go-carting. "So you pretty much know how drive." Cory started. "Bump allat. How did you beat me on my birthday. You're supposed to have some sympathy." Jade said as I laughed. "Look at the high score name." I said pointing to the screen. It was actually her name instead of mine. A smile formed on her face. "Oh, well you can erase what it just said from the record. She decided to go to this entertainment complex after that because they served alcohol. Yes, she did buy me a cup. "Thank you so much for making this the best birthday ever! I love you so much and I thank God we finally found you." she said as both her and Cory hugged me. "I missed you guys too. Now that you know where I am, you can always come visit." I smiled as we walked to our Lyft. 

The Next Day

   I was now on my way to the studio to meet Benji. Jade and Cory was exploring the city so this was the perfect time to make my rounds. "Ji!" I said scaring him as I hugged him. "Jay. I'm glad you came. Even though you've been trading on the kid" he said as I laughed. "Now why you lying? Every time I texted you to meet up , you was so 'busy at work.' " I said as I shook y head. "Now don't be trying to play me cuz I do." he said hugging me tighter. "Yea yea yea." "Here's 2 EP's to make up for it." he said as he handed me a flash drive. "Thank you for my fix." "No problem but tell me what you think about this song right here." he said as he one of the buttons on the control panel. "   Wasted my patience, I took my time. Better off to take it off my mind (Better off to take it off my mind)." he sung as I instantly fell in love with the song.

  "Offline, feeling confused. Feelings on display and I got lost in the view. Reading into things, cause I know how you do." the second half of the song started. When it was completely finished, I was in awe. "What ya think?" "I love it! That better be on here." I said holding up the flash drive. "It is." he said laughing. I took a deep breath before starting my next sentence. "Ji, I have to tell you something." "You're not dying are you?! You can't leave me." he said pulling me in for a hug. "No fool! Its about my past and how I ended up in Denver." I said as he got silent. I gave told him everything as it happened, leaving out nothing. "So uh yeah. That's my life." I said once I was finished. He tightened his grip on me as I felt something drip on me. "You're so strong." he said as I looked at him. He was crying. 

  "Anyone else would've cracked under all that but you didn't. You don't have to worry about me going anywhere. I'll protect you as well. You're the only person that pushed me to chase my dreams and do more with my life so I'm forever indebted to you. If I catch that Bryheem nigga, I'm killing him. No if and's or buts." he said as I nodded my head. I mastered the art of not telling people how they should feel in situations like these. "I have to meet this Bobby nigga again though. Can't have you out here with anybody." he said as I laughed. "Shut up but you two will talk in depth. I'll make sure of that." I nodded. "Good and if you ever feel unsafe in any situation, call me." he said sounding exactly like Roman. "OK. I got ya." "Thank you for telling me everything Jay. I really appreciate it." he said as I smiled. He played me some more songs before I decided to leave and go meet up with Darren. "You better not abandon me like that again!" he yelled as I walked out. He's so childish. 

  I'm not going to lie though, I was nervous as hell to meet Darren again. Don't know why but I was. I texted him to let him know I was outside. In a few minutes, he came downstairs to meet me. "Jay!" he said as he hugged me tightly. "I honestly thought you were dead Darren." I said once we took a seat on the chair. "I know. Let me start from the beginning. So after he shot me and left me for dead, a woman luckily called the police. They ruled it as an accident because they didn't have enough information to arrest and charge anyone obviously. That same woman paid for my medical bills. Selectively of course. After finding out I had no family, she begged me to come stay with her. Though one night, I snuck out and went back to the house because I left my bag of money there. Repaying her for everything that she has done, I moved here." 

  "With no way to reach you to tell you I was OK, I started to get my life back on track. I prayed every night that you would be OK and finally make it out. Looks like it worked." he said as he leaned on me. "I got in touch with my mom. She's doing better now. Though I told not to come up here due to safety reasons." I knew all to well what that meant. "I'm glad you got reconnected with yours as well. The three of you have similar looks." he said as I scoffed. "I look better but whatever." he laughed. "Jay I'm not gonna lie, laying there on that cold ground and helplessly watching my life pass me by was scary as hell. I still wake up in cold sweats from time to time." "If it makes you feel better, I killed him." I said as he looked at me in shock. "Yup. It was either him or me." I then went into detail about everything he missed up until now. "I'm so proud of you and Allure. I hope everyone else that escaped is living freely."  he said with tears. 

  "Speaking of Allure, would you like to speak to her?" I asked as he sent me a confused look. I video called her. "Hey Jay! What's up?" She said with a smile. "I have a surprise for you." I said as I turned he camera to Darren. "OH MY GOD!" she said as she broke into tears. "Hi Lure! I'm glad you're doing good." he said as I smiled. I let them talk as I went to go raid his fridge. Oh he got snacks. I helped my self to a hot pocket and some ice cream sandwich. "Just raid my crib huh?" he said scaring me as I ate. "Yup. Speaking of things you missed out on, do you want to talk to Roman?" I said as he took a deep breath. "Not right now. Don't get me wrong, I miss him like hell but I have to let things set in. I just ran into and got back in touch with Allure. Too many emotions for one day." he said as I nodded my head. 

  "Tell you what? How about I plan a game night at my house and invite him?" I asked. "I'm OK with that. I'm nervous though. What if he hates me?" he asked as I laughed. "Trust me, he won't. He's actually doing pretty well. He lives in New York now." I said as he smiled, I guess someone was reliving their past. "Come back to Earth..." I said snapping my fingers in front of him. "Whoops my bad. I just hope everything goes well. Enough about me though, what's up with you and Bobby?" he asked with his eyebrow raised. Now I was the one smiling. "You like him don't you?" he said as I laughed. "That'll be a yes." "Shut up but you would be correct. I was reading this book and I-" "Say less. I got ya. Let's go." he said pulling me out of the chair. "Where are we going?" "Imma show you how to clean yourself. Duh." he said plucking me. 

  "I feel weird but surprisingly good. Lowkey scared to fart though." I said as he laughed. "Lemme get some towels because you will not." "Nigga you shut ya face." I glared at him. "Yeah so if you're ever in the mood, there you go. Make sure you sanitize it afterwards. Don't need no infections." he laughed. "You're embarrassing." I face palmed myself. "How did you two even get together?" "Well long story short, I was living with him in Denver. Heard his friend talking about me and assumed he agreed and left to come here. He followed me, thanks to my friends, brought flowers to my place and spilled his heart out. That's my baby." I said cheesing  mad hard. "Aww y'all so cute! First time in a long time I seen you genuinely happy. I'm proud." he said hugging me. We spent the rest of the night catching up and watching movies. I missed him.  

  A few days later.                     

  I can't believe it's Valentine's day and I haven't heard a word from Bobby. No text, phone call or nothing. No flowers, edible arrangements or even some chocolate. I was checking my phone all day, every five minutes to be exact, just to see if he was gonna surprise me but nope. I'm not gonna lie, I was a little bummed to see my coworkers getting gifts from their significant others while I was over here in the Sahara desert. This was my first time even celebrating the day, so you know I was hype. Sighing, I was beginning to finish up for the night when I got a text. It was from him saying:  

  He think he cute (He's actually fine as hell especially in this picture but I'm mad at him). I rolled my eyes as I continued to finish up. "All right you guys, Imma head out. I hope you all have a wonderful and safe Valentines day." I said as everyone said goodnight to me. I walked outside to see him getting out of the car.   I was so deep into my phone that I didn't even notice that we were at his place. "Bo-" "You gonna come in or you staying here with an attitude?" he said as I glared at him. "I'll stay here." I said as he shrugged his shoulders and closed and locked the door. He was really leaving me here. I looked up to see him sitting on the hood of the car looking at his watch, guess he was counting how long I was gonna stay here. Wasn't that long because I swiftly got out as he laughed before grabbing my hand. Once we got off the elevator he stepped in front of me. "Can you close your eyes for me real quick?" he asked as I quickly blinked. "They closed." "Please? For me?" he said as I let out a breath and did just that. He grabbed my hand as I blindly followed behind him.  

  "I've been waiting my whole life, to find someone like you." I hard someone sing. "You can open them now. He said as I did just that and was left speechless. There was a a big balloon that said happy Valentine's day on it followed by a trail of roses leading to somewhere. "Happy Valentine's day baby." he said as I cried tears of joy. This whole time I thought he forgot and he was doing this, I feel like an ass. "I knew how special this day was for you so I had to make sure it was just that." he said smiling as I hugged him. "Thank you, thank you, thank you." I smiled as I kissed him. "Don't thank me yet. Let's get you out of this." he said taking my jacket off me. "Come on." he said as he returned. I followed behind him, taking in this moment when he stopped in front of this gorgeous table setup:    

  "Oh my god!" I said covering my mouth. "Please have a seat. I'll go get the food." he said as pulled out a chair for me. Once I was situated, he went to the kitchen and  got the food. "I hope you enjoy it." he said as he placed the plate in front of me. I love anything he cooks. We said our grace before we ate. "This is so good!" I said as he smiled. "I'm glad you're enjoying it. Took me a minute to decide on what to make but now I'm glad I made the right choice." I simply nodded my head because my mouth was full.

  "You ready for dessert?" He asked as my face lit up. "Yes!" I said a little too excitedly. He brought out a familiar cake. "Its funny, I made something like this earlier today." I chuckled. "I know. It was for me." He said as I let out a breath of realization. "You're so sneaky." "Yup and you love it." He said feeding me a slice. No complaints there. Once we finished dessert he grabbed the plates and came back with a few bags. "I got you something." he said with a big smile on his face. I opened the small box first. It was a gold cross chain, one that I had been eyeing for months actually. "Oh my God! Thank you so much!" I said as he put it on me. The other box was a pair of sneakers with a matching outfit. "Oh and one more." he said handing me another box. It was a smartwatch. "So you don't have to keep stealing mine." he laughed. I was in full blown tears right now. Best Valentine's day ever. 

  "Thank you so much. I really don't know what to say." I said as I hugged him. "Baby, you deserve it all. That smile is all I ever need." he said as he kissed my forehead. I grabbed his hand and lead him to the couch. I went over to the speaker and connected my phone to it. " It be on my mind like what and you be on my mind like fuck." Tank sung as I dance. I slowly took my shoes and socks off. Bobby was now in a trance. I was now taking my shirt off. "I'm thinking about getting you tickets, front row and center so you can see the show. I'm thinking about getting you backstage passes, all access granted because I know you wanna know." Kelly cooed as I opened his legs and whined my body in his lap. His hands roamed all over my body as he kissed me on my neck. 

   "Because you must see the show." I mouthed as I slowly got up from him and the song transitioned. " I'm so hot when I walk I leave smoke in my tracks. Don't leave your man with me cause he won't come back. I'm dangerous." Aubrey sung as I slowly stripped out of my jeans. It was at this moment, Bobby got his ass up out of the chair. " I'mma change your good boy status. Break all your good habits. Momma's going to make you an addict" Shannon sung as I stripped him of his shirt. " I'm gonna make you a new man. Have you talking to all your friends" they sung as I was now unbuttoning his pants. "I'm the type of girl that always get what I want. So be sure before you come up in the dark. Cause you about to see, When the lights go out." Aubrey finished before he attacked me with kisses. He carried me to his room. 

  There were rose petals everywhere. "Don't know what to do, so baby I. Give my heart to you my Valentine." Lloyd sung as he put me down. I pushed down on the heart shaped rose petals. Let's see if Darren's sex class helps.
