As soon as the panelled door was swung open by PJ's long and lanky arm, Dan realised that the night was not going to go as well as he had hoped. It wasn't the crowds of people that he didn't know that bothered him, it was the one person that he did know.

Dan froze and felt as if the ground was sticking him to the one spot. He felt his heart beating in his chest, he knew that this was not going to end well. Phil looked at Dan with a puzzled expression and attempted to snap him out of his daze. "Is he alright?" PJ mouthed to Phil. Phil's response was a worried look and a shrug. "Erm.....I'll leave you two to it." PJ said as he slowly closed the door behind him.

"Dan?" Phil said to him anxiously while turning Dan's head to face him. "Phil I can't go in there." He replied with a stammer as he internally panicked. "Of course you can, cut yourself some slack. You won't be as nervous when you get in there." Phil responded hopefully. His face drooped when he saw his boyfriend's eyes frantically moving and his feet constantly tapping the ground.

The music and noise from the room in front of them became indistinct as Dan's breathing got heavier and heavier. His vision began to blur and all he could see was an unfocused image of Phil panicking. "Dan!" Phil cried. Dan decided to try snap out of it and although he found it difficult, he didn't want to ruin the night and overall just wanted Phil to be happy.

"Sorry Phil, I don't know what happened. Let's just go in." He said while forcing a smile. Phil breathed a sigh of relief as he cupped his hand over Dan's. "You'll be fine, I'm here no matter what." Phil responded squeezing Dan's hand tighter. With those words of comfort, the brown haired boy let go of Phil's hand, took a deep breath and pushed open the panelled door.

They walked in together, Dan keeping his eyes fixed on his feet as the two proceeded further into the room. The room was particularly large with modern style lamps coming down from the ceiling in certain areas. Once you walked in through the door you were greeted by hordes of people dancing and talking. Directly opposite the door was a big snacks table with a marvelous chocolate fountain, several drink dispensers, alcoholic and normal, and bowls dispersed evenly across the table.

On the right wall was the dj's booth where a young male was holding one ear of a pair of headphones to his left ear while bobbing his right arm up and down to the beat. The fluorescent lights coming from the disco ball in the middle of the ceiling covered all of the floor as the two boys made their way towards the left side of the room.

Dan decided to finally lift his head away from the ground and took in the sights. The room was full of people with unfamiliar faces. Besides Phil and PJ, almost everyone else was a stranger to Dan. In that particular moment in time, he wished that he knew no one else. "Just try to avoid, try to avoid." He thought to himself.

After about a minute of walking through the crowd, Phil spotted PJ who was talking to a short haired girl. Dan's heart sank but decided not to say anything and just hope that nothing would go wrong. They both walked over and were greeted by a relieved PJ. "I'm glad everything's okay now! Dan, Phil, this is my good friend Elle. Elle, that's Dan and that's Phil." He said while gesturing towards the two boys. Phil said hello to PJ's friend and then smiled and stretched out his arm to shake hands with the auburn haired girl. Dan put his left hand behind his back and crossed his fingers as he nonchalantly greeted Elle in the same way as Phil did. When their hands pulled apart, the slim girl peered her eyes while tilting her head forward. Dan uncrossed his fingers as he knew there was no going back now.

She retracted her neck backwards and opened her mouth in shock. "Wait, Dan? Dan Howell?"

Sorry for another cliffhanger whoops, I will update soon and you shall find out what happens don't worry! This was a shorter chapter than usual but I felt like it wrapped up nicely.
