Chapter 7
HEADMASTER'S POINT OF VIEW
The Headmaster and seven of his servants decided to check out how the battle turned out only to find Amber lying there unconscious, burns covering her whole body, and none of the vampires he sent earlier in sight.
"Sir, she's right there for the taking!" Tyler spoke up making the Headmaster that much more frustrated.
"You don't think I know that?!" He roared making Tyler dead silent. "Now stop making ridiculous, uncalled for comments." He looks over at Amber trying to figure out how to play this.
She's right there for the taking, but this isn't how I want to capture her...I want so much more...
I need to find a way for her to draw closer to me...to trust me.
If I find a way, even for a little while... her vampire side will like me so much more.
She would want to be with you...smart.
But I also need to betray her.
Why?
Her werewolf side is at surface, if I betray that side of her, her vampire side would love me that much more.
The only question is how...
"Man, have you ever met someone who passed out when they used their powers? Talk about pathetic." Kai whispered making the Headmaster furious. He pulled out one of his gold daggers and threw it at Kai, within seconds all you hear was his screams as he disappeared.
"Does any one else want to speak up?!" He demanded watching all them shake their heads mumbling "no sir."
"Good. Tyler, she's going to need at least a couple days to recover, but once she does I want you do the usual..."
"Sir, as much as I love doing it," Tyler started trying to keep the sarcasm to himself so he sounded for the most part sincere. "But I already lost ten partners..."
"I don't care if you lose a hundred more, keep doing what you're told, but we're going to change a few things. One, you don't kill her or her new partner, I have bigger plans for both of them. Two, do whatever you must to make her think that you're trying to kidnap her, but don't actually do it..."
"Wait you don't want me to kidnap her? But I thought the plan..."
"The plan is still there, but these are the new adjustments. Do you understand?" He asked twirling his second gold dagger. He always carries at least five gold daggers in case his servants annoy him.
"Yes sir!" Tyler concurred.
"Good, because I could have anyone do it, but I'm trusting you. Don't fail me." He finished making Tyler more terrified than before. The Headmaster looks over to Amber who looks like she's barely even breathing.
He has the perfect plan for her.
"Let's go!" He ordered already flying out of the park. The six servants followed in pursuit.
Get ready Amber because I'm coming.
AMBER'S POINT OF VIEW
"Ugh, am I dead?" Amber asked feeling the pain still, but not as bad. She slowly opens her eyes to see the burns along her arms is a faint pink color. She slowly sits up watching the sunrise.
The sun's just rising? Not bad. It was setting when the Headmaster's servants found me. So it's been around twelve hours.
Amber slowly gets up feeling the burns all over her back, but still found a way to stretch. "Okay, I'll be stronger in my wolf form." She said as she transformed, looking down at her fur. As being half vampire and werewolf wasn't bad enough, her fur is also all black.
She remembered when she was nine, she came across a werewolf around the same age as her. He transformed into his wolf form matching his human hair perfectly, but when he saw she was different, having black instead of brown fur, he immediately ran to his parents to tell them. She had to run away, again.
Ever since then she hated her black fur, it shows all werewolves that she's different. So she tries not to transform in front of them unless she has to.
She started running through the trees where humans most likely won't see her. She already feels better as she starts running, feeling both the sun and the cool air touch her fur. Though she doesn't like her fur color she loves her wolf form the most.
After running for several minutes she spots her park and the family playing soccer. She quickly transforms into her human form and steps out of the trees. Fortunately, no one noticed.
She walks up to the lady, who she could only assume is the mother of the two little children and the wife of the man playing with them, but she could be wrong. "Excuse me, do you know what time it is...and the date?" She asked quickly adding the last part.
"It's 6:30a.m. and it's June fifteen." The lady answered smiling.
"I'm sorry the fifteen?" Amber asked again bewildered. The lady just nod.
"Thank you." Amber replied, walking over to her bench, completely in a daze. She flopped on the iron bench. She puts her hand over her mouth holding in her scream as she landed on her back.
"Ow." She whispered so she wouldn't disturb the family.
It's the fifteenth! I've been unconscious for four days!
I've never been out for that long...usually it's twelve hours or one day at the most, but four days!?
On the bright side at least you don't have school.
Why didn't the Headmaster's servants, or even him himself kidnap me? It was a perfect opportunity...
You're complaining?
No, but don't tell me you don't think it's suspicious.
Ugh, I don't know what game he's playing, but I promise it's not going to end well for him.
Or for you.
Must you always pick a fight?
I'm just saying he's very powerful, the most strongest and powerful vampire of all.
I don't care, I'm going to find a way to bring him down.
KNIGHT'S POINT OF VIEW
These past four days all he's been doing was cleaning his house. He finished the first day, but what Amber said about his house shook him to the core. He hates it when someone says his house is messy so he never invites anyone over, but he just had to be nice and invite Amber over.
And what does he get? Her telling him over and over how awful and how messy his house is.
He finally takes a ten minute break from cleaning for at least five hours and flops down on the couch. He thinks back this past two weeks and what happened in such a short period of time and he's happy Amber's gone from his life... for good.
Amber was a serious mess. Everywhere she went she had vampires tracking her down, she lives out in the open where those vampires could find her, she is too stubborn to accept any help from anybody even if it's for her own good, and she drives people away.
She was right about one thing though, I didn't feel free before... and I'm still not free.
Let's take a stroll. It's a beautiful day afterall.
And I need a break from cleaning.
.....
Knight plays with his house keys that's in his pocket. The sun rise is very beautiful, but rain clouds are quickly coming in.
"Excuse me sir, can you help me? My cat's stuck in that tree." He looks up to see this girl around the same age as him, in pigtails with blue ribbons as the hair ties along with a blue checkered shirt with black pants. She looks like the older version of dorthy except her hair is jet black.
"I'm sorry a cat in the tree?" Knight said in an incredulous tone. Cats live in trees.
"Look sir if you're going to make fun of me..."
"No, I'm sorry. Where's the tree?" Knight said sincerely. He didn't mean to offend her, but he's still trying to wrap his head around the situation.
A cat? In a tree?
She couldn't do it herself?
"Right over here." She excitedly exclaimed, skipping to the tree. Knight speed walks to match her pace, but couldn't help to think how crazy this lady is.
She showed him the tree which was so huge you couldn't see the top of it. "My kitty is at the very top..."
"Are you sure it's this tree? How do you know it's at the top? You can't even see it..."
"I saw her go up with my own two eyes. She's up there." She said with a hint of frustration. Knight looks up at the tree that looks like it could reach the rain clouds from where he was. He looks around the tree and doesn't even know where to begin climbing.
"I'm sorry, I can't. I'm sure your cat's going to come down...eventually, but it's too far up..."
"I understand. Well, thanks for playing along I guess. You were the one who went the furthest out of the ten people I asked prior, they all said 'no'. I just," she paused, her bottom lip quivering and her eyes getting watery. "That cat is the only thing I have left. I have no family and no friends...I'm sorry..."
"Say no more I'll help you!" Knight emphasized feeling this wave of compassion overcome him. He understands what it's like to lose family and he definitely doesn't want her to lose the only thing she has left of it.
Knight takes off his shoes and socks and puts it to the side of the tree along with his jacket.
"Really? My hero!" She shouts happily as he starts up the tree. He tries several times, but kept slipping to the point where his hands are slowly bleeding from the bark of the tree. He keeps going. Besides that could easily be healed within seconds.
"Stop what you're doing and turn around slowly!" A new voice demanded and he immediately does what he's told. Knight notices a threat when he hears one.
He was even more surprise when that wasn't a new voice, but the same girl except she's wearing his leather jacket and her hair is in one high ponytail. She looks completely different though she hasn't changed that much.
Knight immediately notices the silver dagger she has in her hand, she doesn't exactly hide it. "So you're a vampire? Why am I not surprised." Knight bitterly replied, filled with relief that he brought his gold dagger.
"Werewolf," she said full of disgust and hatred.
"Werewolf? I didn't know there were such creatures." Knight charged, wanting to hear her explanation for her stupidity. You don't just go up to someone and accuse them of being a mythical creature especially when they could just be human.
Stupid that's what you did!
Wow, way to ruin that for me!
"Don't be stupid I could smell the werewolf on you. Ugh, you smell like wet dog and dirt, the two worst smells in the whole world..."
"Even worse than blood?" Knight countered knowing it isn't. He should have known earlier, but weirdly enough he didn't smell her until now.
Knight hates the smell of vampires, they reek of blood. Like reek of blood.
"Stop interrupting me." She threatened. Knight plays along wanting to actually hear what she has to say. "Now, down to business. Rumor has it that you've been spending time with the girl..."
"Girl?" Knight asked trying to stall for time.
The only girl I've been "spending time" with is Amber, so why am I not surprised, this vampire's looking for her?
"I don't know what you mean in the slightest..."
"Don't play dumb with me I know you were with her, I saw you two together." She smirked and it took everything in Knight not to focus on how she emphasized the word "together".
"And why should I believe you? Filthy liar." Knight spat, seconds later pinned to the tree the silver dagger to his throat.
"I'll watch it if I were you. Everyone knows silver daggers are werewolves weak link, killing them instantly. Now where is she?" She asked not leaving room for argument.
"I'm not going to tell you," Knight said detaching his gold dagger from its sheath on his belt. "And by the way, the silver dagger is a myth, but this isn't." Knight argued throwing his dagger towards her left shoulder.
She screams, getting ready to throw her own dagger, but he stabbed her in the heart, watching her disappear before she could attack back.
"Why do some vampires think silver daggers hurts us... I mean yeah it can, but not like gold daggers for vampires." Knight mumbled to himself. He grabbed his gold dagger, puts on his shoes, and grabs his leather jacket. "Now I gotta burn my favorite jacket."
She found me because she smelt the werewolf on me.
Not to mention that when I finally get rid of Amber she just comes back to haunt me...more like hunt me... because of her, I'm on the vampires radar.
