Chapter 18: Lost

"Ian? Ian where are you? I can't see a thing! Please answer me!" Jason shouted out into the darkness.

No response.

"Ian! This isn't funny! Answer me! Ian!?"

Still nothing.

Jason dropped to his knees. He never wanted to split up, it was almost like he knew that something like this would happen, as if he was physic. Ian was gone, and all he could think about was it being his fault.

Meanwhile, whilst Jason was pitying himself, Ian was as scared and confused as ever. And since he was alone, this feeling decided to take over as he tried to adjust to the darkness.

"Shit..again? Why does this always happen to me?" Ian mumbled under his breath as he kicked the wall in front of him.

I'm the brave one he told himself. I can't be scared

But he was.

He never liked being alone, and what made it worse was that this happened again. His mind started to wander, thinking back to the time where him, Bodil, and Seto got separated. The image of Bodils body replanted itself in his head once again., tears almost breaking free from his eyes. He couldn't let this happen to anyone else, he had to find Jason and the others. And Seto- Nobody has seen him or Ty for hours now..they had to find them too.

Ian looked around frantically for a clock. Luckily, the things were everywhere.

"Jason will probably head back to the meet up..I will too." Ian muttered confidently.

Recollecting his thoughts, he strained up and looked around. He wasn't familiar with the hallway, but he decided to turn back to where he thought he had come from. He started back down the hallway, being cautious and conscious of the area around him. He looked from floor, to wall to ceiling.

How can we even get separated in this place? There's nowhere to go... He thought to himself.

Getting more curious, he got down on all fours and started feeling around the floor, searching for a button, pressure plate, or even a loose board. But he didn't fall, he was sure of it. In fact, him and Jason were standing pretty close to the edge of the wall. He couldn't have fallen towards Jason or the wall without feeling it unless...

He stood up, this time almost jumping into the air. His hands dragged along the walls, testing his own theory. Getting a bit too into what he was doing, he pressed onto the wall, the lights going out as he felt a breeze swirl around him. As he inhaled, his mind started to fog as he fell onto the ground, his vision going black despite the lights coming back on..

Setos head perked up a bit after being in a daze for so long. There was a slight noise that made even Clocky jump.

"What was that? It felt like a whole wall just moved." Seto stated, looking around at the dark grey walls. One seemed to move a bit in his peripheral, but he played it as his imagination.

"It might have been master moving around...he's usually pretty noisy. We will find Ian soon though, I'm sure of it!" He smiles up at Seto, making him grin slightly back.

Things were starting to look up; way more than he had expected.

Jason dragged his feet with him as he walked back the direction he came, sure that Ian would do the same thing. He glanced at the clock to his right. 4:28.

"Ian isn't stupid...I'm sure he will figure out a way to get back" Jason mumbled to himself, trying to make himself feel better.

He started humming, the quiet driving him even more nuts. His eyes darted around the room, like a small animal in unknown territory. He flinched at every noise and hesitated as he turned every corner. The creature of darkness that had taken the lives of two people swarmed his head with thoughts and hallucination.

"Ah!!" Jason screamed, seeing a dark shadow move next to him.

He peaked through the cover of his hands, realizing it was just his shadow. He sighed, trying to keep himself from being afraid, but still failing miserably.

After a few more turns in the twisty corridor, he saw the statue in the distance. He froze, before snapping into a sprint, knowing he had reached his goal. Panting, he rest his hand on the statue, plummeting to his knees. But, his hope wavered, realizing it was still just him: alone.

"He should be here any minute now...So should the others" he told himself.

Sitting down, Jason faced the direction of all three corridors, waiting for someone to return.

Coughing, Ian sat up, his vision coming back to him.

"I was right...I was right!" He blurted.  He looked back at the wall he had fallen out of, now sure that he was in the same one as Jason. His spirits raised, having a boost in motivation once again.

Ian looked both directions, deciding to head to his left, knowing that was the right way.

.......

.......

He was lost; Ian was wandering aimlessly, having no idea if he was even going the right way. He stopped for a split second before punching a wall, his stress getting ahold of him. Quickly recoiling and holding his hand, he regretted his decision.

Despair hanged on him like a monkey to a tree; it weighed him down. He had gotten so used to the feeling of hopelessness that it didn't surprise him when his small blip of hope perished.

His voice cracked as he spoke: "It's no use...we will all die here anyway, all of us.."

He didn't even notice that he had stopped moving. He started sinking to the ground, as if his life force had just left him. He stared blankly at the clock that hung parallel to him as it continued tick tick ticking away.

-Hello! It's been another super long hiatus...again. I've finally had time to myself and got some motivation after revisiting some old YouTube channels and playing Minecraft. I'll definitely be updating this story more often if I can remember what I had planned for this series in the first place-
