Chapter 7- Victory

I looked deep into her hazel eyes, we were thinking about what just happened. The three men were walking around us. If I can still get to the weapons, I could easily elude away from this place. Those stupid bastards forgot to even get their guns from the floor. Her dry white lips were shaking from nervousness, she was horrified. I can see the goosebumps on her light bronze skin as the moonlight shone. I had to do something. If I don't move, they will kill us. I crawled my way to the weapons. Whenever someone would turn around to look at me, I would stop. I was finally there I can now successfully escape. I touched the cold rifle and stood up.

"Hey, you," I shouted.

The three of them turned around and looked me in the eye. I think that only at that moment they realized how stupid they are. They were shocked by what they saw.

"Ha...ha...ha. Good job Mr Lyn." One of them answered while laughing from fear, and also clapping from the shock he received.

"You know, hiding your true emotions can be really painful. So, just surrender to your real emotions, and don't play it cool. You lost, okay? So, shut your fucking mouth and surrender" I replied.

"Wow, that confidence though." He answered back.

"Looks like you've never been to Branklin before big guy. Have you?" I asked.

"Not really interested in visiting that trashy area." He answered.

I was pissed off; my temper scale was rising as I stared at his dumb face. I pointed the gun straight to his face and placed my thin fingers on the cold trigger. What the hell are you doing Lyn? This could get you in serious trouble. Many questions and calculations of the aftermath were discussed between my brain and I. No one is going to know about them if I killed them, why am I scared to do it then? Maybe it's because this is the first time that I get to hold a real gun in front of someone's face. Although this takes my memory and me on a short journey to my childhood that I never lived when my parents used to take me to a shooting camp where they taught us how to defend ourselves, and use a gun properly. That camp was a necessity to all children growing up in Branklin.

"Lyn, what are you doing?" She asked me.

"Getting rid of the trash in our society," I answered.

"Better watch your mouth." He answered me back.

"Lyn, they're trying to pique you." She commented.

"Just stay out of it, alright," I replied.

"Lyn, those guys are dangerous, listen to me." She shrieked.

"Listen to your girl Lyn." He answered.

"Shut it," I replied rudely while holding the gun.

"Alright, alright. You guys need the device, here it is." She said as she held it in the air.

"What the hell are you doing?" I asked her.

"She's using her brain." One of them answered me while laughing.

"Hand it over, gorgeous." The other one said.

She bent over and placed a small black box on the mud. I couldn't analyze the plan that she was going for. Does she even have a plan? She was giving up her hard work, she surrendered to those bastards. One of them walked towards the black box, while two walked towards me.

"Stay right where you are, or I'm going to shoot you both," I said.

They froze in their place looking at me like wolves staring at their prey, I didn't have any idea as of what I'll do next. It was hard to think of a plan b on the spot. The black box was in his hands now, he got the device. I need to think quickly about my next move. He opened the black box to make sure that the device was placed inside, and smiled.

"Guys we got it. We got the device." He said as he held a small round device.

"What should we do now sir?" One of them asked.

"Get him." He answered.

They were slowly walking in my direction again, I was shaking. What is her plan now? What will she do now? The darkness filled the place, it was hard to keep up with their footsteps, but the moonlight made visibility a bit easier. They were getting closer, and closer. I can't just shoot them in the face, I just can't. I dropped the rifle on the ground and stood still.

"Now you're using your brain Lyn." He said.

They took the rifle from the ground and gave it to their leader. This was kind of the end, they will kill us now. I now need to bring my defensive skills to life. He kicked me on my abdomen as I fell on the ground. He held the pistol straight to my face.

"You have the device, what do you want from him? Leave him alone." She said.

"You are free to go, we just need to teach this guy a small lesson." He answered her.

"Oh really? How about I give you a piece of me that you'll never forget?" I answered angrily as I looked deep into his dark black eyes.

I pushed his hand moving the pistol away from my head, as my punch contacted his face. I kicked him on his belly and ran into the other two. One of them came from my back, but I was quick enough to defend my shoulder from breaking. My eyes were running back and forth analyzing the ground to find the pistol. There it is. I walked towards it until one of them came and pushed me into the ground. He was holding my leg, but I managed to kick his dumb face. I ran to get the pistol. The other guy blocked my way, he choke held me from the back. I couldn't breathe suitably. The air inside my lungs was consumed.

I remembered the exact same situation that happened to me during my stay at the shooting camp. During practice, I played against this guy, we practiced together, we knew what each of us lacked. On the day of the match we played against each other, and my moves were perfect until he decided to attack me from the back. That day I had to leave the camp, because of my broken shoulder. He was able to break my shoulder and win the game, but this time the victory is mine. The only thing I saw was that guy's face and I was more determined than I've ever been to win this match. I turned the toe of my right foot outward, preparing to spin on the ball of that foot, as my left knee flexes slightly to a coil for the kick-off.

I pivoted at the hips, swinging my left leg sharply to the right in a half circle. I completed my movement with a backward kick pushing him away from me, I now broke his hold successfully. I ran into the woods as she followed me, so did they. What was notable is that there was only one guy following us. Where are the others? I lost track of him to the darkness, I couldn't see him anymore although he was just behind us. I ran until I saw him standing right in front of me.

"Lyn, catch." She said as she threw me the pistol.

I was so close to catching it, but he ran towards me and kicked me with his elbow. I crawled my way to the pistol. I was able to get it, but he pushed me. I fell on the floor, he squashed my neck so hard that I couldn't feel the oxygen inside my lungs. The pistol was still in my hand, I pointed it towards his face and pulled the trigger.
