Chapter 14

Okay, so Gravity Falls is officially coming to an end and I know that like 99% of the fandom is really upset/angry/ready-to-kill but please don't be! I mean, despite the fact that I've been blasting MCR and rocking back and forth in the darkest corner of my room, I realized that Gravity Falls has had to end eventually *sobs*. Although I am sad about the shows end, I am also super proud of Alex for his success with the show. I'll still be writing, even after the show ends (I'm even considering an upcoming sequel *nudge* *wink*). However, nearing the end of the book, I'll be changing up some things.

Anyways, enjoy!

Y/N's POV

I stood around awkwardly in the foyer of the manor, searching for Mabel, Candy and Grenda. Pacifica allowed me to follow her around until I could find them. She even helped me look for them for a bit, offering me food and such along the way. For once in a long time... She was actually being nice to me. Suddenly, the main doors burst open.

"NORTHWESTS! YOU HAVE SOME EXPLAINING TO DO!" A voice bellowed. Pacifica and I ran up to the entrance, to find Dipper who has stormed angrily into the building.

"Dipper?" I said as Pacifica and I headed towards him.

"Y/N! They've been lying to us the entire time!" Dipper began.

"Dip, what are you talking about?"

Dipper glared at the Northwests and scowled. "All you had to do was let the townsfolk into the party and you would've broken the curse! But you made us do your dirty work instead!"

Pacifica's dad narrowed his eyes at Dipper's accusation. "Listen here, I'm hosting a party for the most powerful people. Do you think they'd come here if they had to interact with your kind?"

"Our kind?!" I was just about to step towards him, when Dipper grabbed my wrist to hold me back from messing up his petty face. I turned to Pacifica. "You knew about this?!"

She opened her mouth to speak, but her expressions said it all. "I was right about you all along. You're just like them." Dipper spat. "Another link in the world's worst chain."

Pacifica looked as if she were on the verge of tears. "I'm s-sorry!" She stuttered "They made me! I - I should've told you-" Suddenly, she was interrupted by the sound of a bell and immediately fell silent.

"Enjoy the party while you can. It's the last time you and your kind will ever be able to." Her dad stuck his nose in the air.

Dipper and I ran towards the mansion as fast as we could. Somehow, the ghost managed to escape the silver mirror and was on its way to revenge. We hastily opened the doors to see a horror laying before us.

Taxidermy forest animals ran about while people were turning to wood. Massive trees began to sprout from the marble floors towards the ceiling. Everyone was screaming, panicking, running for their dear lives. We heard the ghost laugh.

"JUST ONE WAY TO CHANGE YOUR FATE - A NORTHWEST MUST OPEN THE PARTY GATES!"

Dipper and I looked at each other, thinking about the exact same thing: Pacifica.

We ran off, eventually finding her in the dark room, where paintings were stowed away. We begged her to come back and help, but she only sadly looked at the paintings.

"Every bad thing this family's ever done... It's all here. Lying, cheating... And then there's me." She sighed. "I lied to you guys just because I'm too scared to talk back to my stupid parents! You guys were right about me. I am just another link in the worlds worst chain."

"Pacifica..." I sat next to her. "Look, just because you're your parent's daughter, doesn't mean you have to act like them."

"It's not too late." Dipper smiles.

"IT'S TOO LATE!!" The ghost cries. Welp. We ran back into the entrance hall, finding everyone has turned to wood. It was a horrific forest of the upper class. Dipper ran towards the ghost.

"Dipper!" I called after him, but he kept running. He prepared to trap the ghost in a silver platter, but suddenly, he was shot with a ray of blue light and the journal flew out of his hands and he began to turn into wood. My hands flew over my mouth and I stumbled backwards.

"P-Pacifica! You have to do something, please! Only you can stop this!" I begged. She nodded.

"HEY UGLY!" She shouted at the ghost. "You want me to let in the townsfolk? I'll do it! Just change everyone back!"

"YOU WANT TO PROVE YOURSELF? PULL THAT LEVER AND LET THE TOWNS PEOPLE IN!" The ghost taunted. Just as her hand reached for the lever, her parents popped up from a trap door below.

"Pacifica Elise Northwest, stop this instant! We can't let the towns people see us like this! We have a reputation to uphold!" Her father demanded.

"Pacifica! Pull the lever!" I encouraged. Pacifica looked at me, then at her parents. Once again, she reached for the lever.

"You dare disobey us?!" From his jacket, her dad pulled out a small, shiny bell and rang it. I watched as Pacifica's hand trembled.

"Don't listen to them! Just pull the lever!" I yelled once more.

"Is this bell broken?!" Her father scowled. Pacifica slammed her foot onto the ground in anger.

"Our family name is broken!" She exclaims. "And I'm gonna fix it!!" With that, she pulls the lever with all her might. The townsfolk run through the open gates, into the mansion. The mansion returned to it's normal state and the people were changed back! The ghost vanishes, finally able to rest peacefully.

I find Dipper, picking up his journal and run up to him, tackling him in a hug. "You're okay!" I chuckle. He laughs with me. I pull away and look behind me to see Pacifica.

"You did it!" I smile.

"Well... Enjoy it while it lasts. Next year, my parents will probably just lock everyone out again..." She sighs. I look down at the floor, staring at my mud-stained sneakers.

"Hey guys, guess what we're standing on?" Dipper smirks. Pacifica looks at her feet to see we're standing on the silver carpet. I laugh, stomping around while Pacifica laughs. Dipper even takes a few of the drinks and dumps them onto the floor.

"Guys, I'm gonna go find Mabel. I'll be back in a few!" Dipper smiles before running off. I look down at the dress Pacifica lent me. Unfortunately, through all the adventure, the bottom of the beautiful gown was stained with mud and had even been torn a little.

"Oh gosh! Pacifica, I'm really, really sorry-" I begin to say but she cuts me off.

"Hey, don't worry about it. It's just a dress." She smiles. "Look, Y/N. I think I should tell you the truth about why I stopped being friends with you. My parents, they... They cared too much about their reputation and as a result I wasn't allowed to be friends with 'commoners'. I never wanted to stop being friends - really! I only bullied you so my parents would think we wouldn't friends. I should have just stood up to them instead. Y/N... I'm really sorry. I hope we can maybe... Be friends again?" She shrugged.

I smiled at her. "Of course we can be friends."

The next few minutes were spent with catching up, chatting and laughter. "So, you and Dipper, huh?" She smirked.

"W-What about me and Dipper?"

"He's your boyfriend, isn't he?"

I felt my face heat up. "B-Boyfriend? Ahaha, no... We're just really good friends. Boyfriend?! Aha! What's a boyfriend?!" I laughed nervously.

"Y/N, if I know one thing about you, it's that you're a really bad liar. Honey, you're not fooling anyone." She chuckled. "Besides, you guys would be so cute together!"

"S-Shut up!" I giggled.

"Hey, guys!" I heard Dipper say as he returned. "Wow, you guys seem friendly."

Pacifica and I suddenly burst into a fit of laughter, leaving Dipper looking confused. "I was just leaving." Pacifica smirked. "I just leave you two... Alone." She said before running off. Dipper and I stood around awkwardly for a bit.

"Y-You look really pretty..." He murmured.

I smiled. "I - uh. T-Thanks you too. I mean - erm..."

Dipper chuckled. "But, you still can't take compliments."

"Shut up, nerd." I giggled.
