A new beginning Chapter One
Mother always said I was reckless, Kevin and I together exploring the world around us. As kids from the age of six, Me and him would explore the countryside, going in muddy holes, climbing (and sometimes falling!) Trees and playing kiddy games from the moment the sun came up till it went down.
Sometimes we would purposely stay out till it was dark and star gaze and watch the meteorites, till one of our parents came out to find us that was.
Me and Kevin were like siblings, doing everything together and understanding each other without having to say or do anything. But as days turned to months, months turned to years and those years turned us to teenagers we began to have feelings for each other and it was no surprise to Kevin's or my parents when we became boyfriend and girlfriend together. To be honest, I guess they were both relived we were together. We'd known each other from the start and was only interested in each other's feelings.
One day when I was twelve (before we got together) Kevin's dad invited me to go with his family on their new boat for a couple weeks and that was it. I fell in love with boating. The sails puffing themselves out, the boat swaying in time with unheard music and the smell of the sea were all but a few things I loved.
When I turned eighteen and Kevin and I knew all there was to sail and worked as one we were old enough and experienced enough to go on the All Around The World Sail Race, or the AWSR for short, we decided to enter and was accepted into the race.
The plan was that the race took from two years to four years and you was required to go from one port to another around the world and an official would be there to record that you entered the port. Then if you finished, it didn't matter where you placed, as long as you'd gone to each and every port, and in order.
Kevin and I were competing on our boat The Flame she was an amazing boat. Fast, cut through the water cleanly and needed only the slightest touch to turn.
For the first two years of the AWSR we was fine and well in front of schedule that we'd made up in the months towards the race. But then one day, out of nowhere, came one of the biggest storms we'd ever faced. And it wasn't like we was able to see it on the weather prediction either, it was one minute hot with only a few clouds in the sky, then Gail force winds and rain bullets pounding us combined with the tsunami like waves crashing into The Flame and the lightning...... It was too much to take in as I lashed ropes and pulled and strained using all my muscles to help bring the boat safely out of the storm.
That failed because one moment I was on the deck the next I was in the sea with my safety rope dragging me down with the boat that had gone beneath the waves.
Panicking I untied the rope and swam to the surface forcing myself not to open my mouth to breath before that. Those swimming lessons in the lakes paid off, I thought taking huge gulps of air into my lungs taking in my surroundings. Then it hit me. A part of my boat. The name. The Flame A piece for me to hold onto, for me not to drown, to scream for Kevin who I could not see and certainly couldn't hear, till I lost my voice and I was too weak to call anymore.
For days I only distantly remember I drifted in and out of sleep and when I saw land, I thought I'd died and found heaven.
Reaching the shore I managed to drag myself halfway out of the water before collapsing unconscious unable to do anything. I was dehydrated. My lips chafed and sore and the sea water was teasing me. I was weak as well from no food for days and it was no surprise I had an long sleep.
Water trickling into my mouth woke me. Not straight away. But I felt the refreshing coolness and the relief it gave my throat was amazing. I chocked a little on it and the water stopped coming. Then when I opened my mouth for it, eyes still shut, but needing it, it came.
Water was carefully placed around my head and on my arms and I thought I could hear people talking, but I was too tired and fell unconscious again.
Opening my eyes for the first time after several times of waking up from unconsciousness I took in my surroundings. There were vines and trees coming in from the top of the shelter I was in and it seemed like a plane wreck. Plane wreck? I was on a boat the last I remembered. And where the hell was I? How was on land for that matter?
I sat up and held my head in pain as I thought of was going to be sick and felt very dizzy.
There was rustling from the entrance of the plane wreck and I looked and saw a person. A soldier from the looks of things, in black and grey cammo. He had swords and guns and had one in his hands.
The first thing I thought was, I've been captured by rebel soldiers who are going to kill me in front of the world. I scrambled back in fear and then realized when I fell suddenly onto the floor that I wasn't near a wall. I patted my pocket where I always kept my pocket knife and couldn't find it.
Searching around for any weapon I saw a gun and picked it up and stood as bravely as I could pointing the gun at the person.
"Don't come any closer!" I warned the man.
The man looked at me but didn't come closer.
"Where am I?" I asked, the first thing that came into my mind.
"On a island in the middle of nowhere." The man said stepping closer.
"Don't get closer, I will shoot!" I said, partly to myself.
"If you had bullets in it. I would be slightly scared that your pointing towards my feet." The man said to me.
I looked at the gun and sure enough it was pointing at his feet.I put the gun down and looked around. "Where's my pocket knife?"
"Here." The man rummaged through one of his pockets and threw it to me and I caught it.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"Who are you?" The man asked.
"I asked you first."
The man chuckled slightly. "Your in my..... home. So, who are you?"
"I'm.... still not telling you who I am till you tell me who you are." I said.
The man frowned. "Got some spirit in you. Tell you what. Fight me and I'll tell you my name. Or not. Either way, what have you got to lose?"
"How about I fight you, you tell me your name and how to, no, take me back to civilisation. I crave a long hot bath you know." I bartered.
The man looked at me for a minute. "Sounds like a deal. Chose a weapon of your choice and we fight." The man cast a hand over a few boxes.
I walked over to one and opened it up. There was a yellow and black face mask. "That's mine." The man spoke up. "Have you considered swords? I like swords."
I put it back and looked around the box. I chose an long blade after a while and showed it to him.
"Swords. You chose swords. I like swords." The man grinned at me like a little boy.
I felt uneasy. Help I thought.
The man got himself a sword and was looking at it when a person walked in.
I stood there blinking when I realized who he was. Oliver Queen, the play boy millionaire who died with Sara lance and his father.
"Err, who's this?" Oliver asked.
"No idea, she won't tell me her name." The man shrugged.
"Oliver? Oliver Queen?" I asked in disbelief.
"Yeah, that's me." Oliver said.
"But you died in a boating accident. Hell to that, I and Kevin couldn't find you. And now your here, alive, on the same island as me. There's no way off the island is there?" I frowned feeling a sinking feeling as the thoughts came into my brain.
"Well, there is a way. But how did you know what happened? And how how come you looked for me?" Oliver asked.
"Me and Kevin were doing the AWSR at the time and heard the news. We stayed for a month trying to find you before carrying on." I told him.
"Hang on. Where's Kevin?" The first person asked me.
"I don't know. I didn't see him when the ship sank." I said.
"Well, I hate to stop you two ladies chatting, but you and I have an fight to do." The first man said hefting the sword.
"Will she stay if she can fight?" Oliver asked.
"Perhaps. Let's see what she can do. Can't be worse than you." The man shrugged.
*-_-_-_-_-_-_
"I take what I said earlier back." The man said as I lay on the floor clutching my hand.
"She's worse than you. And that is something."
"See, I told you I wasn't a complete idiot then." Oliver said triumphantly.
"But you are one now." The man shot back quickly.
In spit of the pain I chuckled.
"Old grannies." I said getting up. "Arguing at each other all the time."
"Well, how about you give up? Hmm. You keep being thrown down." The man asked me.
"Never! As long as I have something to fight for, I won't stop." If I'd known what those words ment at that time. Perhaps I wouldn't of said them. But then again, I probably would have. It wouldn't of changes anything.

Taking a deep breath I walked up to the front of the huge mansion in front of me. It had been three years since the last time I'd been here and a lot had changed.
I had changed as well. But now I came back to seek my revenge. Oliver Queen had ruined my life, now I have come to ruin his.
