Chapter 22

Charles awoke, another day of boredom. He stood up and began his daily routine. Wash, dress, eat, mission, sleep, repeat. As he exited his room, he noticed his sister and McCree walking down the hall towards the mess hall.

"Morning Charlie." Jennie said walking past. Charles nodded in returned as he walked straight to the command center.

"What do you have?" He asked. Jack looked at him and grunted lightly. "Get something to eat first." He replied. Charles walked to the console to see papers scattered with possible sightings of Widowmaker and Reaper. He grabbed a paper and wrote down coordinates and stuffed them in his pocket before Jack turned.

"Didn't you hear what I said? I said go eat!" Jack barked at him. Charles glared at him before turning and leaving for the mess hall. He walked over and grabbed his breakfast and sat next to his mother and father.

"Good morning Charlie." Julie said with a smile. "Morning mom." Charles replied as he ate his breakfast in silence.

"What's gotten Charlie all bent out of shape?" Genji asked removing his mask. "I guess it's Angela. The got into it yesterday which made her take some time off back in Switzerland." Jennie informed him.

"Ah, I see. Trouble in paradise." Genji said. "Something like that." Charles said standing up and putting his food away. Everyone watched as Charles walked to the entrance and left the mess hall.

"I guess something big happened between them." Fareeha said. Lena frowned, she hated seeing people hurting or sad, not even her nephew.

"I'll go talk to him." Lena said standing up and walking after him.

~Angela's House, Zurich Switzerland~

Angela walked down the sunlight streets of Zurich as is bustled with people and shops. People glanced at her and smiled. She returned the greetings with small waves and smiles. But on the inside, she was scared and saddened. She didn't mean to hurt the Rider's or Charles's feelings for that matter. But now she hated herself for what she did. She returned to her apartment and slid to the ground.

"Oh I'm such a fool." She scolded herself. "Indeed you are, Angela." A voice growled. The doctor glanced up to see Reaper standing over her. Reaper grabbed her throat and slammed her against the door.

"You are going to pay, for what you did." He growled. Angela gasped lightly as she stared in the eyes of the man she tried to save.

"G-Gabe, I'm s-sorry." She pleaded. "Your apologies won't get you anywhere, Doctor." Gabriel growled.

"Enough Reyes, I think you've intimated the Doctor long enough." A voice spoke. Reaper scowled before dropping Angela as she gasped for air. Widowmaker walked over and smirked at Angela.

"I apologize for my friend's rather, rude behavior. But we require your assistance." The assassin said.

"And why would I help you?" Angela asked as Reaper walked over to Widowmaker. "Some of our geeks in the science division have decided to, start up a very old project. And I am to believe you may have also recreated this formula?" Widowmaker asked.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Angela snapped. "Oh I'm pretty sure you know what I am talking about. Fire and Ice." Widowmaker said causing the doctor's eyes to widen.

"Nien! You can go ask Satan for all I care. I am not helping you recreate that monstrosity!" Angela snapped.

"You misunderstood what I was say Cherie. We didn't come to ask for your help, we are forcing you to work." Widowmaker said. The windows opened as armed operatives walked forward and restrained the doctor as she struggled.

"Of course, after you are done with your work, we have allowed Reaper here to dispose of you. I mean, you two do have a history with eachother." Widowmaker said climbing out the window. Reaper glared at Angela before following suit. Angela struggled to free herself, as she did, she knocked down objects.

"Stop yer strugglin' bitch." One operative barked, causing her to flinch. He shoved her out the window as Reaper grabbed her wrist and threw her onto the roof where a waiting ship was ready for them.

"Welcome to your new job, Doctor." Widowmaker said with a smirk. The operatives boarded the waiting ship and took off towards Talon's base.

~Charles~

Charlie walked out of the base and sighed as he sat on the cliff overlooking the ocean. "Something troubles you. Want to talk?" The Rider asked.

"It's just with Angela, I don't know why but she won't talk to me, and I feel as if she's in trouble." Charles replied. The Rider sighed as he knew why Angela was like this.

"That might have to do with me." The Rider spoke up. "What do you mean?" Charles asked as he stood up.

"I may have snapped at her, but it was because she kept looking down on me. She thinks I would betray everyone and go back to my roots when that is not true. I enjoy your company, that I am honest about that, deep down in my non-existing heart. I guess I may have been too harsh with her. For that, I am sorry." The Rider admitted.

"At least you were honest about it. For that, I am grateful." Charles replied. "Well, I better go apologize to her. I think she should be in her house in Zurich." The Rider said. Charles nodded as he took a dropship and loaded the coordinates in for the house. He sighed as the ship took off into the air and watched the clouds go by.

"You, aren't mad at me?" The Rider asked. "A little, but I'm just glad you were honest about it." Charles replied. The ship landed on the lawn as the bay door opened, the sweet breeze of the night air flowed in, almost as if it were calming his nerves and the Riders'. Charles exited the ship and walked to the door.

"Well here goes." He said knocking three times. After a few minutes, there was no answer. "Huh, she would usually answer the door." Charles said.

"Let's check around back." The Rider suggested. Charles walked down the steps and made his to the back of the house to see everything in order except for the window.

"She wouldn't mind, would she?" Charles asked. The Rider gave no input. Charles crawled his way through the window.

"That wasn't so bad." Charles said dusting himself off. "Angela? It's me Charlie. I just came to see if you were alright." He called into the dark and desolate building. Still no reply.

"Perhaps she going to scare you?" The Rider suggested. Charles entered the living room and felt glass crunch underneath him.

"What the?" He wondered as he summoned a ball of fire. The orange ball illuminated the living room to show signs of a struggle that happened.

"Angela!" Charles shouted. "Oh no, who would have? Talon." Charles growled. He turned on his communicator and informed the base.

"Jack, it's Talon, they took Angela!" He said frantically. "Alright, come to base, we'll find her." Jack replied as Charles took off back to the dropship and flew back.

'Be strong Angela, I'm coming.' He thought as his face became wrought with fear. "Don't let fear cloud your vision. We will find her." The Rider said, trying to reassure the frantic man.

"I understand." Charles replied.

~Talon HQ~

"You see, Miss Ziegler, we have the right ingredients, but not the formula. If only you gave us the right sequence, then we won't torture you as badly." A scientist said.

"You...can...go straight to hell!" Angela said, spitting blood at him. She felt Reaper's gloved fist hit her stomach, causing a coughing fit.

"Please Angela, I only want the formula and nothing else. You're a reasonable lady." The scientist replied.

"Oh please, try your best. I'll never talk. You don't scare me!" She shouted, glaring at them. "Maybe we don't, but I'm sure this one will." He said as the door opened to reveal Widowmaker.

"Reaper is intimidating I'll give him that." The assassin said as everyone cleared out. "But I promise you Cherie, I am much worse." She said drawing a knife and inching forward. The cold blade rest on the doctor's cheek. She drew it back fast to create a small slice on her face, blood seeping it's way out.

"Now, be a good Angel and tell the kind scientist what he wants or I might not be as softer." Widowmaker said with a smirk. Angela stared at her and spat blood on her cheek, causing the agent to step back and growl in frustration.

"Well then, I'll need to work out some more kinks." She said walking to the door and shutting. Reaper and Sombra stood by the door until Angela's screams of pain could be heard, almost ear shattering.

"I didn't sign up for this." Sombra said, feeling pity for the doctor. "Feh, whatever. She deserves it, I only wish it were me." Reaper replied. The doctor's screams filled the base, her screams of pain and agony. But she knw she must not allow Talon the serum. For in their hands, they could destroy the world.
