Chapter Eleven
Grace and Ana stay quiet trying to put missing pieces together. They both look up when David walks in. He walks in and hugs Grace. "David?" She says hugging him back.
"I..just needed that. Ana, you should call in sick for work tomorrow unless you want to have Mason no further than two inches from you." He says and both girls look at him confused. "His dream was....he's not gonna be able to have you out of his sight." David says and Ana nods. Told you there was more to the story. Her wolf says. Ana takes a deep breath before responding to her. And if he wants to share then he will share. Ana leaves Grace and David and makes her way to Mason. He's standing up when Ana walks in.
"You should eat something." He says and grabs her arm and then finds her hand. Ana doesn't object and lets him lead her into the kitchen.
"You have to eat too. Your body burned all those calories trying to keep you warm." Ana says pushing a piece of pizza towards him.
"I'm not hungry." He replies. He is sitting with his chair right next to her.
"I won't eat anything else unless you eat this." Ana bargains folding her arms. Mason then feels for the plate and grabs the pizza. Ana smiles and starts to finish her piece.
Once they're done it's around 3:30am. Ana called into work and said she was too sick to some in. Mason doesn't talk much, but is also holding her hand and making sure she's ok. Ana lays against Mason and knows he's not a sleep. "Mason." He turns his head.
"Yeah?" He questions.
"You need to sleep." She says. He shakes his head.
"Everytime I close my eyes I think of...the dream." He says and Ana turns to look directly at him.
"Whatever happened in your dream won't happen. There are six werewolves here. Nothing is going to happen to any of us." Ana says putting a hand on his cheek.
"But what if something does?" He says wrapping his arms around her waist.
"Nothing will and if you stay up you'll be too tired to do anything about it." She says and he puts his head back.
"Why are you so smart?" He says lifting his head back up.
"Just some common sense." She replies before laying on his chest. He laughs and kisses her on the top of her head.

"I know....Nothing. Promise." Ana hears. She turns and feels instantly cold. She slowly opens her eyes to see David leaving. Mason hears Ana's awake and walks over to her. She pulls his arm and he plops into the couch. She places her hands on his stomach under his shirt.
"Jesus, cold." He says as shivers run through his body.
"Shouldn't have moved-moved." Ana says as he pulls the blanket over her. After a while of just laying and warming up Ana lifts her head. "You should help me record a cover. My music teacher wants me to send one in."
"Ok. Sounds fun." He says and then feels the headache. Ana sees his forehead crease. She puts her fingers up to his forehead and starts to massage his head.
Mason's headache decreases drastically as she massages. "Better-better?" She questions.
"Yeah, thanks." He says and stands up. "Let's work on that cover."
They walk to Mason's music room and Ana leaves to grab her laptop. "Ok, so I first need to find a song to sing." She says looking on youtube for a song. "She wants to hear emotion in the song, so I have to find one that connects." She says scanning through her likes. "Ok, Read All About It by: Emeli Sande, How Can it Be by Lauren Daigle, or King by: Lauren Aquilina. Here, I'll play a little of each song."
Mason listens and doesn't know what to chose. "How about you sing the songs and then I'll tell you." He says. Ana nods and gets the karaoke for the first song.
Ana stands up and waits to begin. She moves as she sings with each song, each having a different meaning to her.
After Ana sings all the songs she sits next to him on the bench. "So, which one sounded like...like I had written it?"
"Well the first or last one." He says and Ana nods trying to debate.
"I'll sing King. Think it'll be better-better." Ana sets her laptop up to record.
Ana sings the song twice but doesn't like the outcome. "The music needs to pick up more here." She grumbles listening to the recording.
"Let me play background to your tempo," Mason offers and Ana turns to him. When she wanted his help she just wanted him to help her pick the song and recording, she didn't even think of him playing it for her.
"Really?" She questions. This will also help her grade.
"Yeah, it's not hard." He says a little smile on his face.
"Ok, yeah. You'll have to be in the video. Is that alright?" She asks setting up the laptop.
"Sure." He says and tests out which key he's at. Once he finds the first note he looks up.
"Ready." He nods. "And..start," Ana says.
Ana begins to sing and Mason stays with her. Never too fast or too slow. Once they finish Ana looks up at the camera. "I sang King by: Lauren Aquilina. Mason Hall was my accompanist and this is for Folder Two assignment 42." She says and ends the video.
"That was amazing. That took one try and it's good." Ana says excitedly. She sits down and hugs Mason. He smiles and wraps his arms around her. "Thank you." She says and pulls back a little.
"No problem." He says and then he feels his side hurt. He takes a sharp intake of breath.
"Mason?" Ana asks as she sees Mason grab his side. She puts her hand were his is. "Mason? Let me see if there's something there." Mason moves his hand a little and Ana carefully pulls his shirt up. She sees a big red mark. It continues to grow. "Mason. Did you run into anything?" She asks wondering if it's a bruise or something. He shakes his head. "I'm going to try to touch it ok?"
"No." He grumbles out shaking his head violently. Ana gets up from the bench and then pushes
Mason to lay on the bench. He lays on his back and Ana doesn't know what to do.
"Mason. Let me see if it hurts around the mark." She says and moves his hand. He tries to push her hand away, but he's in too much pain too. Ana rolls his shirt up and takes a closer look. She sees to puncture wounds. "Mason. Where you by a lake or river?" She might know of what caused it. She's seen it before.
"Yeah?" He grunts out.
"Mason I think you were bitten by a snake. It'll be ok. Just take deep breaths." She says and quickly calls David.
"Mason was bitten by a snake. What do I do?" She says rushed.
"Shit. Ok. Make sure he stays calm. If he's not it'll spread quicker." David says. Ana walks back over to Mason. She puts her hand to his head trying to help calm him down.
"It'll be ok." She says. "He's sweating and the bite looks worse." She says quietly.
"Make sure there is no jewellery or anything metal on him." Ana feels his pockets and finds nothing.
"Done."
"Now you said he's laying down?"
"On the bench."
"Ok, you have to slowly get him on the floor and I'm on my way." He says and Ana puts the phone on the piano.
"Ok. Mason we are going to move you to the floor." She says and he groans again. She puts her arms around his chest and slowly tries to lay him on the ground. Once he is Ana grabs the phone. "Ok. What know?" She asks almost in tears.
"Make sure he stays awake. Ana I need you to send me a picture of his bite." He says and Ana nods. She puts the phone close and sends. She notices Mason stop making noise.
"Mason. Mason. You have to stay awake." She says putting the phone against her ear and neck. She puts her hands on his face. He opens his eyes making Ana sigh in relief. "Stay awake for me." She says.
"Ana. I need you to go wash your hands and grab rubbing alcohol along with cotton balls and napkins." Ana quickly does as he says. "Now. I need you to pinch the sides of both punctures. You need to get all the venom out." He says and Ana pales.
"I-i-i can't-"
"Yes you can and you will. Now make your way to his side and put me on speaker." Ana does with shaky hands.
"Ok."
"You're doing good. Now you need to pinch the bite." He says. Ana puts her hands to his sides. Her hands won't stop shaking and her face is wet with tears. She pinches and sees white stuff come out. Mason yells out in pain. Mason tries to push Ana away, still never really pushing hard. "Mason she needs to do this. I know it hurts, but you have to let her finish." David says a little louder.
Mason puts both of his hands together and Ana watches him. "Ana you are doing great. You have to continue." He says. Ana nods her head and with shaky hands starts to pinch. She cries more as she hears her mate yell.
"Ok. Amazing Ana. How you need to clean the wound." He says and she wipes her eyes even though the tears continue to fall. "Mason this is going to hurt, but I need you to push through. I'm almost there." He says. Ana grabs a cotton ball when she sees a snake enter through the doorway. Ana grabs the phone not understanding how a snake got into there house.
"David. It's in the room." She says and freezes. Maybe he didn't get the bite until today and just now started to feel the pain. She doens't know what to do, the only she knows is that the snake needs to stay away from Mason. "Ok Ana stay calm. Don't look at it or challenge it." He says and curses.
"It's getting to close to Mason." She says in a whisper.
"Ana in the corner by the window. Grab one of the fire pokers. Slowly." He adds. Ana turns her head and sees them. She looks back towards the snake. It goes towards the closet. Ana then slowly reaches for a poker. As she grabs one she almost drops it and freezes as the snake turns towards them.
She sees the snake and her wolf takes over. She stands and swings down on the snake.
