He kisses her on the lips. Ana doesn't respond, but it does make her forget about everything else. Mason pulls back and Ana just stands there looking up at him. His face still holds concern and he still has one hand on her cheek. Ana pulls away from him making him feel hurt and her wolf angry. "We need to go." She says walking around him to leave.
Mason stays in the room thinking. His wolf telling him to go, but he stays. How could I have been so stupid? Many thoughts like that start to run through his head.

After the quiet ride back they both unpack everything. Mason doesn't know what to say and Ana keeps replaying the whole thing in her head. She doesn't understand how it made the panic attack stop and not come back. It's never just stopped.
When she goes into the house with the last bag she hears her phone ring. She answers. "Hello?" She says still distracted.
"Ana, will it be ok if you work late tomorrow? I'm sorry, I just had to get the client in." Her boss says and she snaps back to being focused.
"Um, sure. It's alright." She says.
"Thanks, your the best." He says and hangs up.
"Who was that?" Mason asks, just out of curiosity.
"My boss asked if I could work late." She says and then David comes into the living room.
"Why are you guys back so late?" He questions still practically asleep.
"Her guardian wasn't very friendly and Ana had to do a lot of paperwork," Mason replies.
"Oh, um, when do you leave for work?" Ana asks knowing there won't be a bus around for her to ride. The house is pretty much in the woods.
"Six, why?"
"Could you drive me? I have to be at work for 5:45." She says hoping he'll be fine with it.
"Sure. I'm going back to bed. Night." He says before turning around.
Mason and Ana stand in the living room. He stands towards her while she looks everywhere, but at him. "Ana," He says and she looks up at him. "I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable or anything. I just didn't know how to calm you down. I tried other things, but-"
"I know and it's fine, really." She says and he's confused. He doesn't understand that if everything is fine, why she isn't talking to him. She sees his confused face and takes a seat. Only twice. "I don't understand how that made it go away. It was a distraction, yes, but normally after a distraction, it comes back. I've never had it just leave." She says looking up at him. He takes a seat next to her.
"Werewolves, don't have these conditions because our body fights them. Maybe us having our mate bond helps your wolf gene." He says not knowing how else to explain it. Ana stares at him as he looks ahead. "Why are you staring?" He asks turning his head.
"How'd you-"
"I can just feel it and when I asked you gave it away." He says flashing her a smile. She lets out an airy laugh.
"Let's go organize my stuff-stuff." She says still smiling. He groans but gets up and walks behind her. When they get into his room Ana tries the light, but it doesn't turn on. "You're light bulb went out-out."
"Don't need one." He says and she shakes her head.
"Yeah, but I do." She says watching him walk back out of the room. He walks to a closet and feels the top shelf.
Once he gets back into the room he hands her the bulb. She gets on his bed and unscrews the other bulb before putting the new one in. She gets off the bed and puts the dead bulb in the trash before opening his closet.
"Your things are very organized-organized." She says surprised.
"Yeah, that's so I don't look like a dork. I know where everything is and what is what." He says making her smile again. She opens the other side and sees it's empty.

Hearing Ana cough makes Mason's head pop up. He hears her continue to cough and kneels next to her. He can tell she's sitting on the floor. Her whole body shakes and Mason rubs her back. Once she's done she stands back up. "Sorry, didn't mean to wake you."
"That doesn't matter. Are you ok?" He asks concern written on his face again.
"Yeah, I get coughing fits occasionally." She replies like it's nothing.
"Is there a way to prevent them?"
"No, they just come and go. It's really not that big of a deal." She says glancing at his clock. No point in trying to sleep because it reads 4:45am.
