Chapter Three
"You're never going to believe me." They hear David yell from the front door. Ana looks over at Mason. He stays looking forward at the door. Before they reach the door, Ana smells a girl. She has an idea what happened. "Ok, Grace this is my brother Mason," Mason raises his hand. "Mason, this is my mate, Grace. Grace this his mate, Ana. Ana, Grace."
"Um, hi." Ana replies and waves.
"Hi, how are you?" She says in a hyper voice.
"Doing good, what about you-you?" Ana replies standing up.
"Great. You're really pretty. Wish I was a blonde." Grace says not mentioning anything about her repeat of words. David then starts to compliment her. Ana walks over and sits next to Mason on the bench.
"Didn't expect this." He says and Ana nods staring at the two. David starts to drag Grace, she yells a 'Nice to meet you.', before disappearing.
"Hey, um, could we go to my place. I need to talk to Josephine and get the rest of my things-things?" She asks and Adam nods.
"I'll ask if you can drive David's car." He says and stands up. He hears their laughter and knocks on the doorframe. "Can we borrow your keys?" He asks. David digs in his pocket before handing them to his brother. "Thanks." He says before leaving them in peace.
Mason walks back with the keys. He hands them to Ana. "Can you drive?" Mason questions, just thinking that it might be hard because of the compulsive issue.
"Yeah, I just put music on and try to ignore the turns, or stops, and the stop n' go lights." She replies and starts to walk to the front door.
Once she sits in the car, she has to open and close the door four times. She puts the key in four times before starting the car. Mason sits in the passenger seat just listening to Ana.
Ana turns music on and starts to drive.
When they make it to the home, it's already late. Ana walks in and sees Mrs.Kramer. "There you are. You are a pain in my ass, you know that." She says raising her voice. Mason doesn't like the tone and steps closer to Ana.
"Well, you don't have to deal with me anymore. I'm moving out." She says and starts up the stairs.
"Where do you plan on going?" She asks in a rude tone.
"With him." She says and Mrs.Kramer looks him up and down. Mason and his wolf really aren't liking her.
"Didn't think you were one of those girls." She mumbles. Ana hears it but chooses to ignore it. Mason, on the other hand, can't.
"And what's that supposed to mean?" He questions and they all stop walking.
"Did you already get her pregnant? Ana is this where you always go? To-" Before she can continue, Mason pushes her into the railing. "How dare you, you-"
"Just get the papers I need to fill out and we'll leave," Ana says stepping between them. Mrs.Kramer scuffs and mumbles as she makes her way down the stairs.
"What the heck Mason?" Ana says whipping around to face Adam.
"She was being a bit-"
"Don't use that word." She scolds.
"Biscuit, she didn't have a right to accuse you of anything." He says still angry.
"That doesn't mean you shove her," Ana says before huffing. "Come on." She says and starts up the stairs again.
Ana opens the door four times before entering the room. Josephine was doing her nails. "Ana, where have you been and who's that?" She asks lowering her voice. Mason still heard it.
"Um he's...a..um a friend. I'm moving away, so I came to pack." Ana says before grabbing her suitcase, only two times.
"Lucky you're away from this hell hole." She says and continues to do her nails.

It takes a while for Ana to pack because she has to refold and re-put things in, but Mason just sits and talks with both of them. He asked if he could help, but Ana denied. He knows she's not trying to be distant, but it makes it feel like that.
"Well, have fun," Josephine says as they came back up to say goodbye before seeing Mrs.Kramer.
"I'll try," Ana says and starts to walk down the stairs before Mason can Josephine stops him.
"Don't judge her and don't you dare push her into something she doesn't want to do. She isn't a normal woman and if you try anything she has friends with friends." She warns and Mason is taken back. He didn't think Josephine was protective of Ana.
"I'm the last person you have to worry about." He responds before turning around and walking up to Ana.
They walk quietly to Mrs.Kramer's room. Once they get to her office door Ana stops and turns abruptly to Mason. He didn't catch the sudden turn and they collided together. He grabs her arms to steady her and himself. "Sorry. Wasn't thinking." She mumbles to him. Before he can say anything she starts to talk again. "Now, you keep your mouth shut and just let me get done with this. Ok?" She says warningly.
"Fine. I'll try." He says and she huffs. She pushes the door open and takes a seat.
"You're not 18, yet so I can't have you fill these out," Mrs.Kramer says looking bored at Ana.
"We know you want me to go and I don't want to be here. You give me the papers and then turn them in on my birthday. There won't be any checks on me, I never talk to the people so they won't think anything of it. Understand-understand?" She asks taking charge, which kinda surprises Mason. He kept quiet but turns his head more towards her.
"Yes, I understand. What do you think I'm an idiot?" Mrs.Kramer replies and Mason smiles a little. Both women catch it.
"Would you like to say something?" He hears the old lady ask.
"I can't. I was told shut my mouth." He says and she narrows her eyes at him. He can't see it, but continues to smile knowing she didn't like the comment.
"Please just give me the papers and we'll be gone." Ana pleads. The woman takes the papers out and hands them to her.
"Have fun," Kramer says smiling. Ana stares at the stack. "I'll be back, just need some coffee. It's going to be a long night." She replies still smiling.
Once she leaves Ana grabs a few papers. "She could have done this." Ana groans. Mason hears shuffling with the papers and makes himself more comfortable.
"How much is there?" He questions. Ana grabs his hands and puts one on the top and one on the table. He's surprised she did that making him miss what she had said. "What?" He asks.
"Get the point?" She says once again. Mason runs the hand from the top to the table and he doesn't believe how much there is. "She's being a...biscuit and making me redo the paperwork."
"Biscuit?" Mason questions.
"No need for swearing." She responds before going into the work.
♪ ♮ ♫ ♭
"Is she seriously sleeping?" Mason asks Ana. He can hear her snoring and it's really annoying him.
"Yup, sure is-is." Ana replies and yawns.
"Can I throw something at her to wake up?" He asks hopefully.
"No-no." She replies monotoned.
"Can I yell? It'll scare the crap out of her."
"No-no." She replies the same. He huffs and leans against the chair.
"Can I help with anything?" He asks moving his head towards her.
She thinks for a moment but then shakes her head. "Not unless you know my past and can read gibberish." She says putting her hands on her face. She's getting frustrated by the questions they ask.
"I'd like to know your past." He says and sure turns her head at him.
"Yeah, maybe another time." She says and starts to write things down again.
"How long has it been since to ate?" Mason questions hearing her heartbeat is quicker than normal.
"Um..When we ate at your place. Why?" She asks confused.
"Don't you have a condition for not eating enough?" He asks concerned.
"Yeah, but I'll just finish these papers. I'll be fine." She says, but he doesn't believe her. He listens to her write and can hear the shaking in her hand. Her heartbeat hasn't slowed either.
"You're lying. Where is the kitchen?" He says standing.
"I'm fine-"
"Just tell me. I also want something." He says lying.
"It's down this hall and to the right. The lights are out so-, nevermind." She stops talking and he nods before walking out of the room. He runs his hand on the wall and then it's gone. He makes a right turn and feels around for the cabinets. Once he finds them he opens and feels around for bags. He hopes he's grabbing chips or something. Then he finds the fridge and takes two bottles out.
He makes his way back to the plain office. "Hope this is edible." He says holding the bags out.
"Takis are most definitely edible, thanks." She says grabbing the bag.
"No problem. Assuming you like Takis." He says and she laughs.
"Yeah, they're a little spicy, but I love them. Here try one." She says. He opens his hand and feels her place one in it.
He puts it in his mouth and his eyes open wide. This makes Ana burst into a fit of laughter. He starts to feel around for the water bottle he grabbed. Ana laughs and opens before handing it to him. He takes a few big gulps before speaking. "Just a little spicy my...butt." He finishes remembering her early comment.
She claims her laughing surprised she didn't wake the old hag. "They are just a little. Want another one?" She asks smiling.
"Haha, I'll pass," Mason says taking another drink. His wolf is going crazy wanting to hear her laugh again. Mason once again tells him to hush up.
"Last paper and we're free-free." He hears her say. She eats while finishing the last paper. She then neatly puts the papers in front of the sleeping lady. "There all done and I got work in a few hours. Wonderful." She says stretching. She then realizes that she only gave one Taki away. She still has some left, but he doesn't want one and she doesn't want to press him.
Mason notices Anas heart quicken and she starts to breathe rapidly. "Ana, what's wrong?" He asks leaning over to her. She puts the bag down and puts her hands in her hair pulling it. She's trying to stop it. "Ana, talk to me," Mason says putting his hands on her chair.
"Share...only...one-one. That's bad. It's bad. That could harm someone. I did-did it." She says and Masons confused until he remembers the stupid Taki.
"Ana, give me one. It's fine." He says trying to get her attention. She keeps mumbling and starts to knock on the desk. She winces with each knock her hand still not healed from how often she does it. "Ana. Look at me. Give me one. It'll be alright." He says knowing he can't just grab one. She has to hand him one again.
"I messed up. I-I should-"
"Ana it's fine. Just hand me one. It'll make it all better." He says grabbing her and turning her towards him.
"It won't work. I messed it up-up." She continues to say. He doesn't know how to help her and his wolf isn't helping at the moment. Then something comes to his mind. He knows it's risky with her state, but doesn't know what else to do. He then tries it.
