Chapter eight

"How. Many. More. Stairs!" Raven moaned in between breaths as she wheezily followed behind Harry, Hermione and Ron. She had been forced to put her hair into a makeshift bun to stop her neck from over-heating, and although it helped a bit, it didn't stop her from moaning about the excessive amount of stairs they had to climb. She wasn't the only one who felt like this, most of the others were too, it was more stairs then they climbed in a week at Hogwarts. They had finally made it to the top box, where their seats were.
"Aw Raven, are you tired?" Fred asked teasingly as they entered the box. She nodded pathetically.
"Yes!" She declared with a random bit of energy she hadn't had moments ago. Fred and George exchanged a smirk.
"Just shows how unfit you are, doesn't it?" George added, causing the girl to scowl at the both and then (To surprise her friends) she suddenly pouted.
"How dare you!" She yelled, still looking irreversibly upset. And then she let out a sigh, and added in a slightly quieter tone, "But, yeah."
The three friends laughed about this, before taking their seats and Raven found herself sat in between Hermione and Ginny.
"Figured it out yet?" Ginny asked eagerly, Raven shook her head.
"No! I haven't, will you please just tell me!" She begged, annoyed at the fact that she couldn't figure out what they were trying to tell her, they merely grinned at her.
"We'll tell you later, if you don't figure it out before then." Hermione said smugly, knowing that the girl probably wouldn't figure it out. Raven sighed and grumbled, but agreed to it, knowing it was the only way to find out what they meant. Hermione smiled and picked up her programme.
"It says it starts with a 'display from the teams' own countries'." she read, frowning as she wondered what the 'display' was.
"That's always worth the watch." Mr Weasley informed them, causing Raven to look at the man in confusion.
"Why?" She questioned.
"Well, they usually bring along some sort of creature native to their country. They will more often then not put on some sort of show, which is good to watch." The man explained patiently. Raven nodded her head in understanding and cast her eyes out to the pitch, where many adverts were flashing up on boards on the opposite stands.
"Do all these brands exist?" She asked her question to no one in particular, not really expecting an answer. She got one anyway.
"Yes, but you can only get them in the wizarding world though." Hermione told her, raven sighed.
"Oh, I thought Fred and George were joking." She said, causing Hermione to shake her head.
"They definitely exist." She said. Raven nodded and stared out at the quidditch pitch again. It wasn't particularly interesting, but she was looking at it anyway. The lines suddenly blurred.
Confused, she stared at them, trying to figure out what they were saying, they were forming only a few, simple words.
'He is rising'
she stared at it and finally realised what it meant, the words, her dream, they were all connected. A shudder fled down her spine and she would have moved, ran even, but something was keeping her there, something she couldn't explain.
"Raven!" George's voice broke her out of her panic. She blinked twice and then nodded.
"I'm fine." She told him unconvincingly, she looked like she had seen a ghost.
"Are you sure?" George didn't seem to believe her. She nodded and even managed a smile.
"Absolutely!" She told him, at her smile he seemed to believe her, and went back to his conversation with his brother. Raven sighed, it was just a figment of her imagination, wasn't it? She had almost convinced herself of this, until she looked behind her to see a mask like the one she'd seen in his dream. At a second glance, all she saw was Lucius Malfoy. She glanced back at the pitch to find out that there wasn't anything there either, was she going crazy? Was it true? Was the warning she had received a few months ago true? The warning she had ignored, the warning that she had thrust into the back of her mind and forgotten about, was it true? She was starting to believe so, after all the person who told her about it wasn't one to make things up. He was Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore after all. Was what she saw not just a coincidence, could there be truth in her dreams? Or was it just and illusion. She didn't want to think about it any longer, and quickly focused on something, the thing she had chosen to be her focus point, was an advert for Bertie Botts every flavour beans.
whilst focusing on the list of flavours in the advert, Raven found that she felt calmer and all the questions she had been asking herself were slowly dissipating, meaning she would be able to enjoy the match as planned and wouldn't worry about everything that was worrying her. There would be plenty of time for worrying later.
She was still scared by what she had seen, but her fear was soon over-taken with excitement as Ludo Bagman cleared his throat and started his commentary. She looked expectantly at the pitch as he spoke, taking in the last bit of calm the pitch would see until the end of the match. Everyone was quiet, until something could be seen, slowly walking onto the pitch. The somethings (There seemed to be a lot of them) got quite a reaction from the crowd, but Raven couldn't figure out what they were, until Mr Weasley told her. The somethings, which were actually a group of extraordinarily beautiful women, were called Veela.
