Chapter twenty

"Raven! Can we talk?" George chased the girl down the corridor, she stopped and waited for him to reach her.
"I guess we should, shouldn't we?" She questioned. He nodded and they walked down the corridor together, talking as they went.
"We need to fix this." George began, causing the girl to nod.
"I know, George I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that. I don't want to ruin our friendship." She sighed as she finally let him know how she was feeling about their situation.
"I shouldn't have done it either Raven, we should just... Why don't we pretend it didn't happen?" George suggested. She raised and eyebrow as if she didn't like the suggestion, but then she nodded.
"OK, that seems like a good idea." Raven nodded. George grinned and hugged the girl, lifting her off of her feet. "Let's go get food." He told her. She nodded and then frowned.
"George?"
"Yeah?"
"Will you put me down please?"
George laughed and gently set the girl down. "Sorry." He blushed slightly. She sighed and linked arms with him, pulling him down the corridor.
"I thought you said we were going to get food?" She asked as the two made their way into the great hall. They were slightly late, but then so was Dumbledore who entered a second behind them.
Strangely, no one seemed to notice the two sixth years as they made their way to their table, everyone was watching Dumbledore, who was strolling casually up towards the teachers table.
When he reached the end of the room, he turned to face the students who were watching him in intense confusion.
"I think you're all curious to know how to enter the tournament are you not?" Dumbledore was looking at them all thoughtfully. There was a murmur of agreement from the crowd.
Raven caught Mad-eye Moody's good eye and looked away, shuddering. There was something not right about that man, that she knew for a fact. But when she tried to figure out what it was, she could only ever think of two words, crouch and Jr. They didn't mean anything to her, she didn't understand why she thought of them every time she tried to find out what she felt was wrong with their defence against the dark arts teacher.
She was thrown out of her thoughts when she heard everyone around her gasp. A large, important looking cup was sat looking proud beside Dumbledore.
"Seriously? You might as well pull names out of the sorting hat!" Raven heard herself exclaim.
"That's where you're wrong Miss McCloud." Dumbledore said smiling at the girl, she frowned back at the headmaster.
"You have no filter, do you?" Fred asked her. She shook her head.
"Nope."
"Each student wishing to participate will write their name and school onto a piece of parchment, and then put it into the flame. I have put an age line around the goblet, to stop underage students from entering." Dumbledore explained. "You have until Thursday to enter."
With that the feast began. Raven ate a roast potato thoughtfully.
"When's Thursday?" She asked.
"In four days, why?" Lee answered.
"I was just wondering, I'm not stupid enough to try and enter." She froze at the look on Fred and George's faces. "You two are gonna try and enter aren't you?" She sighed.
"Don't worry Raven, we have it all under control." Fred patted her head comfortingly.
"Lee, we need better friends." Raven stated. Lee nodded his agreement.
"We really do."

"Is this the real life?
Is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landslide,
No escape from reality." Lee had to run to keep up with Raven, who was skipping down the corridor and singing at the top of her lungs.
"Raven, can you slow down a bit?" Lee asked as he desperately tried to catch up with his friend. The dark-haired girl ended up walking straight into a tall boy from Beauxbatons.
"Careful there Raven." Mercury put his hands on her shoulders to steady her.
"Whoops, sorry Mer, I didn't see you there." She laughed, he shook his head at her.
"Thanks for stopping her Mercury." Lee laughed and put a hand on Raven's shoulder. "Try not to walk into people Raven."
"Sorry Lee, I'll look next time." She apologised.
"Raven, where are you two headed?" Mercury asked as he walked down the corridor with the two Hogwarts students.
"I can't remember, Lee where am I going?" Raven asked, digging around in her bag for her time table.
"You have herbology, I have ancient runes." Lee explained. Raven nodded.
"Oh, see you later then." Raven ran into the grounds and towards the greenhouses, almost running into Lexa as she did so.
"Are you ok there Raven?" The Slytherin asked the girl as they entered the greenhouse.
"Yep! I just forgot I had a lesson." Raven laughed at herself.
"We'd better get on with the work then." Lexa flashed the Gryffindor a rare smile, causing Raven to smile back.
"I guess so."
