Dick Grayson x Reader

So, I've been on a Dick Grayson kick lately... I love him as a character, he's my favorite character in the whole DC Universe. So, I'll probably write a lot of him... Sorry not sorry.

But uh... Here's what I came up with this time... It goes everywhere, I'm sorry. I just couldn't find a good end for it.

Keys:
Y/F/N: your first name
Y/M/N: your middle name
Y/L/N: your last name

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

"Ughhhhhh life sucks." You whined, plopping down next to your best friend Dick outside during lunch.

"Awh, what's got wittle Y/N all upset?" He smirked, talking with a baby voice.

"First off, I'm taller than you. Second off, I'm older than you-" You told him.

"Only by three months." He cut you off.

"Oh whatever, Grayson." You smiled, rolling your eyes. "And for your information, I hate my literature class right now." You said, laying across the bench you both sat on and putting your head in his lap.

"Why? What's going on in Lit?" He asked, combing his hands through your hair. He knows you love when he does this; it calms you down immediately.

"Analyzing poetry. It sucks, and I don't understand anything. We went through like five poems today and I didn't understand what any of them were saying." You complained.

"Hey, hey... Calm down. You'll get it eventually."

- 1 MONTH LATER -

"Dickie Bird!" You exclaimed, dropping your books by his bedroom door and jumping on his bed, which he was laying in. He groaned as you landed literally on top of him. You rolled off of him and laid next to him, your head propped up on your hand.

"You tryin' to kill me, Y/L/N?" He groaned out, holding his stomach.

"I think someone would be very upset if I did that." You smirked. "And so would his Puddin'." You attempted to imitate Harley Quinn, but it didn't really work out.

"Really, that's your Harley impression? It's like you haven't heard her at all!" He laughed, grabbing your hips and tugging you under him, his fingers attacking your sides.

"Ahhhhahahaha! Dick, stAHPP!!!" You exclaimed, laughing while trying to get him off of you.

"Say 'Richard Grayson, you are so sexy and the best Robin ever!'" He laughed.

"Not on your life, kid! Hahahahah!" You laughed as he continued to tickle you.

"Then, it looks like I'm not stopping!" He smirked.

"Fine, fine! I give!" You yelled, making him stop. You caught your breath before speaking. "Richard Grayson," you panted, grabbing him and pushing him off of you, and onto the ground. "You are such a kid!" You yelled, jumping on him again. You both rolled around on the ground, wrestling for dominance. Eventually, you both ended up lying next to each other on the ground, laughing hysterically. Soon enough, the only thing heard was the sound of your breaths, panting from laughing so much.

"C'mon, we have homework to do." Dick said, standing up and looking at you.

"Whyyyyy? Can't we just do this all day?" You whined, not wanting to get up.

"What, lay on the floor all day? Don't think so, Princess. Get up." He said.

"Nooooo...."

"Don't make me tickle you again." He said, smirking. You shot up into a sitting position.

"I'm up! I'm up!" You exclaimed. He chuckled, holding his hand out to help you up. You took his hand and stood up, walking over and grabbing your book bag.

"C'mon, living room." He told you, looping you arm with his, taking your bag from you, and escorting you down to the living room of the Manor. Once down there, you plopped on the ground in front of the couch, leaning back against it.

"Math first?" You asked him, making him nod. "Can you get my book out of my bag?" He nodded again, opening up your bag and digging through it to get your math book.

"Hey, why do you still carry this around? I thought your Lit class finished poetry, like, two weeks ago." He asked, grabbing your poetry book out of your bag. You sat up, holding your hand out to take it from him. He kept the book however.

"Oh! I actually really got into this poetry stuff. You know, it's like you said: I got it eventually." You told him as he sat next to you, flipping through the book.

"Why is this one highlighted?" He questioned, making your eyes widen. You knew exactly which poem he was reading. You tried to get the book from him, but he kept reading. "Answer my question."

"It's nothing- I just-"

"If I can stop one Heart from breaking
I shall not live in vain
If I can ease one Life the Aching
Or cool one Pain..." He read.

"Or help one fainting Robin
Unto his Nest again
I shall not live in Vain." You finished, mumbling the Robin part and saying it as fast as possible.

"And what? What does that say right there?" He teased, holding the book up where you had highlighted the word 'Robin' in red.

"Okay, so I like that poem! It's no big deal!" You exclaimed, grabbing the book from him. He laughed as you stood up and marched off to the bathroom.

"Oh, c'mon, Y/N!" He said from outside the door that you had locked. You sat on the bathroom counter, looking in the mirror completely embarrassed. He was never supposed to find that. But you guessed it was good that he did, since you wouldn't be around him for much longer anyways.

"Y/N, c'mon! I think it's cute!" Dick said, banging on the door. You put your head in your hands.

"You must think I'm an idiot. I-it's not like that, Dick, I promise. It's just- you're my best friend and seeing the word Robin made me think of you and-" and I'm gonna miss you so much. You thought, but didn't vocalize it.

"I understand that. You're not an idiot." His voice said from right beside you, scaring the hell out of you. You looked at him, and he held his arms open for you. You jumped off the counter and into his arms. You really needed this.

"C'mon, we don't have to have this homework done until Monday, tomorrow is Saturday. Let's watch a movie." He said, leading you back out to the living room. He put on Finding Nemo and you both watch it until you head the light snoring coming from beside you. You looked up at Dick, as you were cuddling into his side, and sighed. Time to go. You slowly got out of his grasp and grabbed your bag. You threw a blanket over him and brushed his hair back slightly.

"Goodbye, my Little Bird." You whispered, putting a kiss on his temple. You quietly made your way to the front door.

"I don't believe Master Dick would approve of you being out alone at this hour in Gotham, Miss." You turned and saw Alfred standing beside you.

"I'm just going home Alfred. I'll be fine." You told him, opening the door and walking out. You made it to the gate of the Manor before you were stopped by a man in black.

"You know, Alfred was right. He would never forgive himself if he knew you walked home alone and got hurt." The deep voice said. You sighed, looking up at the man dressed like a bat, the man you looked up to as a father figure.

"Bruce, I'll be fine." You told him, making him shake his head.

"C'mon." He said, looping your arm with his and leading you to the bat mobile.

"You really don't have to do this. I'd think The Dark Knight would have something better to do than bring a 14 year old girl home because 'Gotham is scary'." You told him.

"It's a slow night. And Y/N, you know how bad Gotham is, especially at night." He told you, keeping his eyes on the road.

Yeah, you thought. But I'm still gonna miss it so much.

"You know I can handle myself. I thought I would have proven that to you by now." You told him.

"I know that you can handle yourself, Y/N. But that's as Black Tiger, not as your civilian self. You know you can't give yourself away." He said, making you sigh.

"Yeah. I know, Bats." You said. "I still hate that Dick doesn't know that I'm Black Tiger."

"He also doesn't know that you're leaving tomorrow." Bruce told you, making your eyes widen.

"How did you find out? And don't pull that 'I'm Batman' crap with me." You asked.

"Y/N, who do you think made sure you got taken out of your father's 'care'?" He said, stopping the car on the side of the road. "You weren't going to, so I did."

"Bruce..." You said, looking up at him with tears in your eyes.

"I wasn't going to let you get hurt by him anymore."  He said, hugging you. "I would've got to him myself, but I knew you wouldn't let me..."

"Thank you, Bruce." You told him. But now I have to leave.

"I tried to adopt you, Y/N. I tried so hard. But, your aunt lives in Australia. They told me that they wouldn't let me adopt you when you still had a family member that could take care of you. I'm sorry you have to leave."

"Yeah, well, my life's just full of disappointment." You told him. "What are you gonna say about me not being on the Team anymore?"

"What do you want me to tell them?" He asked, starting the car up again.

"Why not give the truth a chance?" You said, smiling sadly.

"Tell them everything?" He asked.

"No, please don't! Just... That I have to go live with my aunt in Australia and can't be on the team anymore."

"You know, we have zeta tubes for a reason." He told you.

"I realize that, but... It'll just be easier to..."

"I understand. We're here." He said. You turned and looked out the window, noticing that yeah, you are at your apartment building. You jumped out of the Bat mobile and grabbed your bag, noticing Bruce jump out as well.

"I shouldn't ask.." You said, looking up at him.

"What?"

"Can I come on patrol with you?" You asked, making him sigh.

"Don't you have to get ready to leave?" He asked.

"All of my stuff is packed, and the rest was shipped over." You told him.

"You should still sleep." He told you.

"I have a five hour plane ride to Dallas and a 16 hour flight from there to Sydney. I have plenty of time to sleep." You argued. "Come on, Bruce. As a birthday present?" You said, since it was after midnight, it was your birthday. Looking over to the city, you smirked as you saw the Bat symbol high in the sky. "Either you let me come or I follow you anyway." He looked down at you for a few seconds before groaning.

"Fine."

You smiled with excitement as you held your arms out. Slowly, your clothes changed and you were in your Black Tiger suit, your grey utility belt around your waist and your Eskrima sticks on your back. You were more Batman's protege than anything, but you didn't actually have a mentor.

"I will never understand how you do that. Get in." Batman said from the bat mobile. You jumped in and he took off.

"Zatanna is my cousin, you really shouldn't be surprised that I use magic to change into my uniform." You smirked at him.

-4 years later-

You smiled as you remember that last night in Gotham before you moved away. You and Batman had stopped two armed robberies, three attempted rapes, and discovered where Joker's new hideout was located. Of course, he wouldn't let you confront the Joker, that was for him to take care of.

You looked around your room at the Mountain, sighing. You had moved back to America four months ago and rejoined the team shortly after that. Living with your aunt was lovely, but you weren't happy. Even she could see that. So, once you were old enough, she gave you the access to the bank account that held all of the money your father had gotten from drug dealing before he was taken away. The police never took any of the money away from you, which you though was stupid. But, you had assumed it was because a certain billionaire was always looking after you, even when you weren't even with him. You have an apartment, but also a room at the Mountain.

It's that fateful day once again, the anniversary of the day you were born. Yes, it's your birthday. To be more specific, it's your eighteenth birthday. And the only thing you want, is for it to be over. You've spent the entire day huddled up in this room, hoping to avoid anything bad happening. Let's just say, you birthday is not a good day for you.

The knocking on your door startled you for a second, but you didn't get up to answer it.

"Tiger, it's me. You okay in there? You haven't been out all day." The voice of Nightwing called out from the other side of the door. Oh, how you missed that voice while you were gone.

"I'm fine, Nightwing. Just... Busy." You lied. You hate lying to him.

Dick still doesn't know that you are Black Tiger. You made sure that your real identity stayed clear of the records. You hate that he doesn't know, because you've known about him being Robin, and now Nightwing, since you were 10 years old.

"Alright... Well, can you take a break?" He asked.

"Uh... Sure, I guess." You said. "Give me a minute." You told him, jumping out of bed and running around your room, looking for something to throw on seeing as you still had pajamas on. You found a pair of denim shorts and a black shirt. You also grabbed a black jacket and your combat boots. With a snap of your finger, the clothes were on you. You had your mask on, as you always did, your black and white hair framing your face.

"Hey." You said, opening the door. There stood Dick in a pair of black jeans with a blue shirt and black jacket on. He had sunglasses on, as he did when he didn't have his mask on.

"C'mon. I need to show you something." He said, holding his hand out for you to take. You reluctantly took it, and he began leading you to the living room. When you got there, the lights were off.

"What?" You muttered, before the lights came on and everyone jumped out.

"Surprise!" They all yelled. Music started playing and everyone was excited. You looked at all of them wide eyed.

"How-how did you know that today's my birthday?" You stuttered out.

"It's was in the files. There's not a lot on you, but that was there." Dick said from beside you. You looked at him, shocked. "Do you like it?" He asked.

"I... Gotta go." You said, turning away from everyone and sprinting back to your room. You leaned against your door once you locked it, sliding down to the ground.

"Tiger! What's wrong?" Nightwing asked from outside your door.

'I just don't like birthdays, R.' You said via mink link with him.

'What? How-' He questioned in his mind.

'Didn't know I could do this, did you Dick?' You said.

'I-no. How-'

'How do I know your name? I've always known. I know I wasn't here when you announced your identity to the team, but I knew then. I knew before I joined the team, but you never knew who I am. You still don't. I hate that, R.' You said.

'Why do you keep calling me R?' Dick asked, sitting against your door just like you were on the other side.

'I guess I still see you as a little Robin.' You told him.

'I moved on from being Robin a long time ago, Tiger.' He said.

'You're still a little Dickie Bird.' You said, getting up from the door and moving to lay in your bed. You just wanted this day to be over.

'I'm taller than you.' He responded.

'I'm older than you.' You countered.

'Only by three months.' He smirked, before his eyes widened. 'Wait...' He quickly stood up and looked at the door. You sighed, knowing he had figured you out.

'My favorite poem:
If I can stop one Heart from breaking
I shall not live in vain
If I can ease one Life the Aching
Or cool one Pain.' You responded to his unasked question.

"Or help one fainting Robin
Unto his Nest again
I shall not live in Vain." He said out loud. He didn't know it, but he was trembling. He clung to the door, banging on it, begging you to let him in.

'Dick, please just let me be.' You used the mind link to say.

'No! Y/N, this is more important than anything else!' He thought, continuing to bang on the door.

You didn't say anything, you didn't move either. You just stayed laying in bed with your hands over your eyes. Eventually the banging stopped and you sighed. You laid in silence for a few minutes, before a bang came from your vent.

"Damnit, Grayson." You said, not moving. "I told you to-" You were cut off by a weight on top of you. Your arms were moved above your head and you knew Dick was on top of you, but you didn't open your eyes.

"Look at me." He said softly, making you open your E/C eyes and look into his pretty blue ones.

"Ffo htiw eht ksam." You said, and your mask came off, taking your black and white hair with it. The hair comes with the disguise, so when you take your mask off, your hair turns back to its original color.

"It is you." He said. That made you shut your eyes and turn your face away from him.

"Yeah, nothing special." You muttered.

"Don't do that." He said, moving his hand and pulling your face back in front of his gently. He kept his hand on your cheek, making you melt inside.

"Dick..." You mumbled. He let his weight drop and put his arms around you in a hug. You moved your arms around his neck.

'He's crushing me.' You thought, not intending to say anything. You didn't realize that you thought in the mind link you set up.

'Oops.' He said, rolling over so you are on top of him. You got off of him and sat in front of him as he sat up, avoiding eye contact with him.

"Hey..." He said, causing you to look at him. "What the hell, Y/N? I fall asleep with you right next to me and wake up the next day to find out you've left he city, the country?" He sighed. "Why did you leave Gotham?"

"Dick, I... I didn't want to leave, trust me." You said. "I guess I should start from the beginning... My father was a drug dealer, and it wasn't a good place for me to be. I wasn't even gonna tell anyone, cause I wanted to stay with you." You said, making him grab your hand in his.

"You shouldn't stay in a bad situation because of me." He told you.

"I knew you would say that. That's why I didn't tell you. But... Bruce knew. I didn't know that he did until the night I before I left. He's the one who had my father taken away. He said... He wanted to adopt me, but he couldn't because my aunt offered to take me in. She lives just outside of Sydney, so I had to move there. I figured, at the time, that it would just be easier..."

"To not say goodbye." Dick finished, giving your hand a light squeeze. Tears filled your eyes, but you didn't let them fall.

"I was wrong. I was so wrong." You said, meeting his eyes again, "I'm so sorry, Dick." You blinked and a tear streamed down your face. Dick wiped it away with his thumb.

"Hey, hey... Everything is fine. Stay whelmed." He said, making you laugh through your tears.

"You and your butchering the English language, I swear." You chuckled, squeezing his hand.

"So, why did you run out earlier?" He asked.

"You know I never liked celebrating my birthday. But I guess I never told you why." You said, and he just stared at you. "Nine years ago today, my mother passed away from cancer. Six years ago today, my father hit me for the first time. Four years ago today, I was taken away from my best friend. You can't blame me if I don't see this as a day to celebrate."

"I see it as a day to celebrate. All past things aside, today is the day my favorite person in the world was born." Dick said.

"It's the anniversary of that day." You said.

"C'mon, everyone is out there waiting for you. Let's party." He said.

"They don't even know the real me, Dick. I'm just Black Tiger to them." You told him.

"Most of them don't know my real name either. Let's show them." He said. He stood up and pulled you up by your hands, looping his arm with yours and walking out of your room towards the living room once again. You stopped once you got there, not wanting to enter the room and be judged by your friends. "It'll be fine."

"Okay." You breathed out. He opened the door and everyone looked at the two of you.

"Tiger?" Jaime questioned. You lowered your gaze to the ground.

"Hey everyone." You spoke, waving a hand shyly. Everyone just continued to stare at you.

'They're all staring at me. I should've just stayed in my room.' You told Dick via the mind link.

'You're not going back to your room.' He answered you.

'They think I look like a freak.' You said.

'You don't.' He thought, turning you to face him. 'You're beautiful.'

"Are you two like having a conversation with your eyes or something?" A voice brought you out of your mind link with Dick. You turned and saw Bart standing there. "Hey, Tiger, looking good without the mask." He complimented.

"Uh, thanks, Bart." You said, and he sped off.

'See?' Dick thought, smirking.

'Bart will say anything. You know how he is.' You responded, dropping your gaze once again.

"Can I steal her for a sec? Thanks!" Wally's voice was behind you. He spoke to Dick, who didn't get to respond before Wally sped off with you.

You looked up at Conner, Wally, M'gann, Artemis, and Kaldur, freaking out inside.

"Hey Tiger." Artemis said.

"So, this is what you look like without the mask." Conner commented, making you smile shyly.

'I'm acting like a fool in front of them!' You thought to Dick.

'Calm down, I'm right here.' He answered you, and you felt his arm go around your shoulders.

"You look very lovely, Tiger." M'gann said.

"Yeah, why didn't you tell us you're a babe?" Wally added. Dick reached over and smacked him. "What?! I'm just telling the truth!" The speedster defended.

"You do look very nice, Tiger." Kaldur told you.

"Uh, Y/N. My real name is Y/N. Y/N Y/L/N." You announced to them, making dick squeeze your shoulder in approval.

"Y/N. I like it. It suits you." Wally said, making you smile.

"Y/N Y/L/N? You went to my school." Artemis said in shock.

"So did he!" You defended, pointing to Dick.

"I know. He's shown me the picture he took on my first day." She said, nudging Dick.

"I remember that day." You smiled.

'Hey, hear what song is playing?' Dick asked. He decided he liked this mind link because it was just between the two of you.

You turned your head slightly and heard the song. I Mean It by G-Easy. And your favorite part was coming up.

"Listen, I'm telling you, it's my world! I does what I wish to!" You sang along, all of your friends watching you. "If you're mad, well too bad! Sounds like a personal issue!" You continued, giving Dick the finger. He laughed. "I walk in, they all stare like 'who the f*** is this dude-"

"Woah, calm down." Dick laughed, dropping his arm to your waist.

"You should know to never tell a woman to calm down. Especially when her song is on!" You told him.

-

Upon Dick's wishes, you stayed and celebrated your birthday with your friends. You were chatting with Cassie when you saw a dark figure move out of the corner of your eye. Immediately you excused yourself from her and sprinted to the group of the original Leaguers.

"Bats!" You smiled.

"Y/N." He said, holding his arm out for you. You put on arm under his cape, in a side hug. Everyone else in the group looked at you.

"Hey guys. Thanks for being here." You smiled.

"Anything for you kid, you're like a sister to us." Barry told you.

"Flash is right." Clark added with a smile.

You got into a conversation with them before you heard the sound of music playing through the speakers and began to sing along.

"I love this song!" You said. "I'm only one call away. I'll be there to save the day." You sang, nudging Clark lightly as you sang the next part. "Superman got nothing on me" You smirked as he rolled his eyes at you, while the other Leaguers chuckled. "I'm only one call away."

"Wanna dance?" A voice asked from behind you, and you turned to your best friend. Dick had his hand held out to you, silently asking you to take it.

"Yes." You smiled, placing your hand in his. He pulled you away from the Leaguers and over to a place where no one really was. You put your arms around his shoulders as he put his around your waist. You both swayed around to the music, not saying anything.

"No matter where you go, know you're not alone. I'm only one call away. I'll be there to save the day. Superman got nothing on me. I'm only one call away." Dick sang to you.

"You and Bruce, I swear." You smiled.

"What?" Dick smirked.

"You both have amazing voices, but you never sing." You told him. You moved closer to him and put your head against his chest as you kept dancing. You sighed.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"Nothing." You told him. He held you tight.

"You see, I know you're lying." He said, making you look up at him. You sighed, not wanting to answer him, but doing so anyway.

"It's just... Something you said earlier. Not a big deal." You admit. You felt him tense up. "It's nothing bad, Dick." You added, calming his nerves.

"What is it? What did I say?" Dick asked.

"It's petty. No one needs to hear that." You told him.

'Well here, it's just the two of us.' He told you in the mind link.

'Dick, please just leave it alone...' You responded.

'Y/N, it's just me.' He said, holding you tightly.

'Exactly! It's you! You're my best friend!' You told him, pushing away from him slightly, looking into his eyes. "I shouldn't be weak in front of you! But lately, that's all I've been!" You yelled, making everyone stare at you. You turned and looked around, not liking the looks people were giving you: looks of sympathy. You moved away from Dick and stood on a chair.

"Thanks for throwing this party for me, everyone, but I have to go see my mother now." You announced. Everyone continued to stare, but you ignored them and walked to the zeta tube.

No one attempted to stop you.

-

You walked out of the tube in Gotham and slowly made your way to the flower shop. After buying some daisies, your mother's favorite, and made your way to the cemetery. You sat at her grave for about 45 minutes, updating her on everything that has happened since the last time you visited.  Upon leaving, you looked down the path that held two oh so familiar grave stones.

"You're son's a piece of work, but I'm sure you guys know that." You said, sitting down in front of the stones., your knees held up to your chest. "Hey, Mr. and Mrs. Grayson... Remember me? It's Y/N... Dick finally found out that I'm Black Tiger. Took him long enough..." You chuckled.

"You two would be so proud of what Dick has accomplished... and who he's become..." You smiled to yourself. "He's truly... amazing. He's an amazing hero, and an amazing person. Bruce did a good job with him after you guys." You heard the rumble of thunder and the light rain drops on your skin, but didn't make any plan to move.

"He's saved me multiple times, not just physically. Even when I was gone, it was seeing him on the TV or in videos online that got me through the days. I was miserable, even though I had no reason to be. But, seeing him made me happy." The rain was slowly getting heavier, but you still didn't move.

"I'm in love with him."

You sat and stared at the two stones for 10 minutes, realizing what you had said: what you had always denied when you were younger.

'No, Babs, Dick and I are just friends. We don't like each other like that, we never will.'

'Sure, Y/N. Whatever you say.' She responded, smirking.

You were brought back from your memory, tears had welled up in your eyes. You let them fall this time; they mixed with the rain drops that littered your face.

You started sobbing. You sobbed for everything and everyone. You sobbed for Dick's parents, for your mom, for your life. You sobbed because of your unhappiness, because of your father, and because you could.

The only people that have ever seen you cry are your mother, Bruce, Alfred, and Dick. You never let Barbara see you cry. You never let anyone on the team either. It's a weakness, and everyone would see it as just that.

You heard the quiet footsteps behind you and quickly wiped your eyes, not that it mattered. The rain still pounded hard on you, your entire face was wet, so it doesn't matter if you're crying.

"You shouldn't be out here, you're gonna get sick." You heard the voice of your best friend from behind you, but you didn't move.

You didn't move until you felt something being put over you, making the rain not hit you as hard. You turned and looked up at Dick, dressed in his Nightwing suit. He had put one of Bruce's capes over you; you assumed he took it from the batcave.

"Nightwing..." You spoke. He knelt down and embraced you in his arms.

"I've got you." He said. He moved the cape to cover you as he picked you up bridal style, quickly hurrying to the nearest zeta tube.

You couldn't help it, he was so warm compared to your other surroundings, and he had always made you feel safe. You passed out in his arms.

-

You woke up to the feeling of fingers running through your hair. It's a familiar feeling that you had missed so much while you were gone. You slowly opened your eyes and looked up to Dick's face. He hadn't changed out of his uniform, but his mask was off of his face.

"Hey." You said.

"Hey." He responded. You looked around, noticing that you're in his room at the Manor. You heard that the rain was still pounding down.

"How did you know where I would be?" You asked him.

"I... Uh..." He stuttered. He never stutters.

"You followed me." You said. "How-how much did you hear?" You asked him.

"Well..." It was then that you rolled off of the bed, hoping to put some space between the two of you. That didn't work out for you, as the second you set foot on the floor, you tripped and rolled your ankle.

"Y/N!" Dick exclaimed, jumping off of the bed to get to you, but you moved farther away from him.

"I'm sorry! I'm so sorry Dick! You weren't supposed to find out!" You yelled.

"I wasn't supposed to find out? You don't want me to know how you feel about me?" Dick asked. "Your feelings aren't something to be sorry for."

"They are. I shouldn't feel this way, not towards you." You told him.

"Why the hell not?" He questioned sternly. When you didn't say anything, he went on. "Y/N, you know you're my best friend, my favorite person-"

"Don't say that!" You exclaimed, holding your head in your hands as you gave in to the pain of your ankle, dropping to the ground and leaning against the wall.

"What? That... Is that what I said earlier that made you so upset? That you're my favorite person?" He asked.

'I don't understand how you could say that about me. I'm so messed up, inside and out. I'm a superhero who can't even save myself. I cause so much pain and confusion to everyone around me. I shouldn't be seen as great in anyone's eyes, cause I'm not.' You thought in your mind link. You couldn't speak it. If you did, you would break down. You crossed your arms over your knees and laid your head on them.

You didn't see him move closer to you because your head was down, but he ended up right next to you.

"You save peoples' lives everyday. You don't bring pain to them." He said, making you look at him.

"Dick.." You tried to stop him, tell him he wasn't going to change your mind, but he wasn't having it.

"No, Y/N. Listen to me." He said, grabbing your hands. "I've known you since we were nine years old, I know who you are. I know that you're the funniest person I've ever met. I know that you have a love-hate relationship with poetry, and when you get nervous you play with your fingers." He said, squeezing your hands. "You're messed up inside. So am I, so is Bruce. Most of us are, and we can't save ourselves. It's alright. Superhero is just another way of saying, 'I've been ruined inside.'" He added, pulling you closer to him and putting his arms around you. "Let me be your superhero."

"You heard what I said about you in the cemetery. You know you already are." You told him. He sighed and held you closer, if that was possible.

'I love you, too, Y/N.' You heard his voice in your head.

"W-what?" You stuttered, pulling away from him slightly.

"I love you. I, Richard John Grayson, am in love with you, Y/F/N Y/M/N Y/L/N. And I have been for a long time." He said, making you melt inside.

"Dick..."

"C'mere." He pulled you close again, and you squeezed his torso tightly, nuzzling your face in his chest. You felt a kiss on the top of your head, and smiled.

You also felt a tickle in your throat, causing you to back away from him and turn away from him.

"What's wrong?" He asked concerned, getting the 'hold up a sec' finger from you. You sneezed. It was loud. Then you sneezed two more times.

"Sorry." You told him.

"I'm not saying I told you so, but look who's sick." He said smugly, putting his arms around you from behind and plopping his head on your shoulder.

"I should get home then, since I'm sick." You told him. He shook his head, you felt it on your shoulder.

"It's still pouring down raining. You're staying here. Lay in my bed, I'll go make you some soup." He told you, letting go of you. You sneezed again and then had a coughing fit while walking over to his bed.

"Okay, so maybe not. I'll ask Alfred to make you some soup, I'm staying here with you." He told you, lifting the blankets for you to get in and walking around to the other side to get in next to you.

"You'll get sick." You told him.

"I don't care." He smirked. "I've gotta take care of my girlfriend."

"Girlfriend?" You asked.

"If you'll have me." He smiled, making you return the grin.

"Of course, Mr. Grayson." You smiled.

Shit ending, I know. I tried to come up with something, but I couldn't.

But let me know what you think.
