-Chapter Twelve-
I woke up the next morning to Cassidy shaking me gently.
"Hey, Louisa and I are off to work okay?", she said almost questioning if she should leave.
"Hm-hm", I mumbled through my pillow opening my eyes to stare up at her.
She grew concerned, "You don't look so good", she confessed.
"I swallowed my gum yesterday", I grumbled.
Cassidy laughed, "I keep telling you not to chew that stuff" she said.
"But I like it", I huffed.
"You like coffee too, and I tell you to quit that too", she said.
I smiled, "And I keep telling you to stop putting Louisa on edge about being late", I said.
Cassidy jumped, "Shoot!", she exclaimed.
"Bye Kathy! Do you want us to bring you something?", she called.
"No! All good! Bye!", I said.
I hit my head back on my pillow groaning. Stomach ache. Great....on my day off. I huffed getting up and ruffled my blonde hair heading into the kitchen. It smelled like waffles. I laughed seeing what was waiting. Louisa always put in so much effort. The strawberries made a little heart, along with a dab wiped cream on top.
"She's not going to let my love life go", I laughed.
Not to mention Louisa was good at anything in the kitchen. Cooking, baking, and cleaning. She always cleaned up after herself. The cook cooks, but the good cook cleans. That's what she says.
And the waffles were good. Fresh and still warm. Sure I had a stomach ache but, man was it worth it. I cleaned up after myself and got changed. Sure I could've stayed in my pijama's all day. But Louisa left a list of chores.
1. Clean the bathroom
2. Pull the weeds in the flower bed out back
3. Vacuum
4. Heat up the left over rice and pre-prepped tacos which are in the fridge around 6:30.
I opened the fridge. She beat me to it! She cooked before I could even think about what I was going to make for dinner. Not that I have a problem with it. I like tacos. I love her cooking. But she always does it! No and's if's or but's about it! I raised my head groaning. I rarely got to cook. I swear Louisa!
Chores would only take a few hours and then I'd have my free time. Why couldn't I cook? But nope she beat me. Not to mention every other day of the week too. There were stacks of containers in the fridge filled with food and written on them were the days of the week.
At least she forgot about my lunch! Yes! Wait....we don't have anything in the pantry left likely for lunch.
I looked at the list.
5. Go shopping for groceries, list is up front
I sighed looking at my watch. I guess I'd get cleaning the bathroom out of the way first.
