A couple weeks passed, and Ward seemed to really improve. There was just one problem: the guards standing by the door.

"Okay Ward, now raise that fire ball up to the ceiling, but don't let it touch the ceiling. And increase its seize," Skye ordered.
Ward, sweating and breathing hard, raised his shaking hand upwards. The fire ball shifted uneasily in the air. He glanced at the guards by the door who were staring at them. They are watching me........ He continued to be distracted, losing sight of the fire ball. He snapped back into reality and tried to focus on the ball. But he kept shaking and sweating. Skye easily read that he was uncomfortable.
"Stop! Stop," Skye ordered and shook her head.
Ward sighed, relieved yet frustrated. He lowered his hand, making the fire ball fall and crash into the ground, creating smoke. Skye sighed and started coughing, waving her hand in the air to clear the smoke.
"Ward what is wrong?!" She asked and walked over to him. "We've been working on this trick for almost a week now and you still haven't gotten it! What's bothering you?!"
Ward stepped closer to Skye so the guards could barely hear him. They stared at him suspiciously.
"It's those guards," Ward said and stared at them. "I can't focus when they're around! It's like they're judging me."
"Who cares what people think!" Skye exclaimed. "That's never stopped you before, obviously," she said and glared at him, remembering everything he had done in the past.
"I don't know," Ward sighed and looked down at his precious trainer. "I just can't focus."
Skye rubbed her forehead. "Seriously?!"
Ward nodded. If I can just get them to leave, then I can be alone with Skye.
Skye looked at him and folded her arms. "Are you sure that's the only reason you want them to leave?"
Ward nodded again. "Yes. If they leave then I will be able to focus again. And that's the only reason," Ward lied.
Skye sighed. "I'll think about it."
Then she left with the guards.

"WHAT?!" Coulson exclaimed as Skye told him what Ward wanted. "Daisy, we aren't taking in requests for him! We aren't a hotel! And besides, can't you see right through this?! He just wants to be alone with you! He's still Hydra remember?!"
"I don't know if that's true," Skye replied quietly.
Coulson looked at her. "What?"
"He seems so interested in his powers now, that he doesn't really care about Hydra anymore. He just wants to learn how to use his powers-"
"So he can go back to Hydra with his new powers and come kill us," Coulson finished. "Daisy, I'm not letting you be alone with him."
Skye sighed. "He's really coming along. And I hate to say this, but I think those guards are really distracting him. Just think about it okay?"
Then she left the room.

"Can I ask you a question?" Skye asked and looked at Ward.
They were both sitting at the table in the training room.
"I don't think I have a choice to answer that," Ward replied.
"Are you still Hydra?" Skye asked. "Like if we set you free, would you run back to Hydra and try and kill us?"
Ward looked at her for a long time. Then he leaned in so he was closer to her. "I would never kill you Skye."
He wanted to kiss her so badly. He was so close to just pulling her towards him and kissing her. But the guards were right there and would shoot him. He had to hold himself back.
"What about the others?" Skye asked.
"Well they tried to kill me," Ward answered. "Even after I helped them try to find you they tried to kill me. Hunter went after me."
"BECAUSE YOU TORTURED BOBBI!" Skye yelled, losing it.
Ward stared at her with a confused look on his face. "What?"
Skye glared at him and stood up, her chair flying back behind her. "You know! With the needles digging into her fingers?!"
Ward kept looking at her with the confused look. "What are you talking about?"
Skye looked at him, starting to get confused as well. "You don't remember?!" She looked at him for a long time to see if he was playing her. But he wasn't. "You really don't remember," Skye said, realizing. "But how can you not remember?! You fought her with Kara and then broke her knee! Then you tried to kill Hunter!"
"Kara?" Ward asked, trying to remember. "Wait I tried to kill Hunter and Bobbi?! I would never! What are you talking about?!"
Skye looked at him, very confused. "I'll be back," she finally said and left.

"He doesn't remember anything?!" Hunter exclaimed and looked at Skye.
Hunter, Bobbi, Coulson, and Skye were all siting in Coulson's office.
"How can he not remember?!" Bobbi asked. "I mean who can't remember that?!"
"Are you sure he wasn't playing you?" Coulson asked and looked at Skye.
Skye nodded. "I'm sure. He really couldn't remember."
"THATS IMPOSSIBLE!" Hunter yelled. "HE'S PLAYING YOU! YOURE JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO REALIZE!"
"HUNTER ENOUGH!" Coulson yelled. "Go cool off."
Hunter sighed and stormed out of the room. Bobbi followed him.
Coulson looked at Skye. "What do you want to do?"
"I want to go check that old building out," Skye replied. "The one that Bobbi got tortured in. Maybe we'll find something."
Coulson nodded. "Okay. I don't have time to right now but we will. Give me a couple days and we will, I promise. In the mean time, go talk to Ward, make sure he's telling the truth."
Skye nodded. "Yes sir."
Ward made a circle of fire around himself. He tried to focus but knew the guards were there, watching him. If I can't get those guards to go away I may never be able to be alone with Skye! I've got to do something! He shook his hand around, making the fire grow dangerously large.
"Ward," Skye warned. "Watch what you're doing!
Ward pretended to lose control of his fire and made the flames grow tall and large. He made them toss around in the air, getting awfully close to the guards.
"WARD!" Skye yelled. "FOCUS! MAKE THEM DISAPPEAR!"
Ward sighed and turned his wrists. The fire slowly shrunk down and disappeared.
Skye sighed. "What was that about?!"
"I just can't focus!" Ward exclaimed. "I'm getting no where! It's those guards!"
The guards glared at him. Skye sighed.
"Hey," Ward said and looked down at her. "Does everyone think that I tried to kill Bobbi and Hunter?"
Skye looked up at him. "Of course! Because you did try to kill them and almost succeeded!"
"But I don't remember doing it!" Ward exclaimed innocently. "I really don't! Please Skye," he said and took her hands. "You have to belief me." He looked down at her with puppy dog, yet handsome eyes. Skye groaned and pulled away from him, ripping her hands from his. She turned around so her back was facing him, as she buried her face in her hands.
"Ugh! I don't know what to do!" She exclaimed. "We are going to go check out the building that you killed Kara and tortured Bobbi in. And we'll see if we can find anything."
"Who's Kara?" Ward asked.
Skye turned around and looked at him, shocked. "You don't know who Kara is?!"
Ward shook his head.
"You know," Skye said. "You're old girlfriend?! The one that you killed because May tricked you into believing that Kara was May?"
"Wait I tried to kill May too?!" Ward exclaimed. "Wow. I really have become a horrible person."
Ward stood there thinking for a second. Then he gasped. "Oh I think I know who Kara is! She was Agent 33 right? The one who got brainwashed? And then her face was all messed up because May electrocuted her. I remember now."
Skye sighed. "You're helpless. Kara was you're girlfriend."
"What?!" Ward exclaimed. "No no no no no no no. I would never date anyone except for you."
Skye looked down awkwardly.
"I had my heart set on you remember?!" Ward asked. "All those times I told you I loved you in the basement! I wouldn't just fall for someone else! Even after you shot me I wouldn't have." Ward looked down at Skye.
She bit her lip, thinking. He does have a point.
"Skye," Ward begged and looked down at her. "You have to get proof that I didn't do all
that stuff."
Skye turned around and went to the door with the guards. "I'm gonna figure this out," she said before leaving.
