5 years before the curse

Natalia's POV

"Natalia!" Said Jared. "Natalia wake up!" I sat up in my makeshift bed. "It's Bo Peep." He said. "She's on her way here." I jumped up. "Already?" I said. "We're almost out of money from Mother and Father!" Our parents, who ever they were, left us some money, but it's almost out. "We have enough to pay her, but it's barely enough."

There was a loud knock on the door. "Open up brats." Bo Peep yelled. Jared opened the door while I changed my clothing. "Hello ma'am." I heard Jared say. "Where's your little menace of a sister?" She asked.

"Coming!" I yelled. I came out from behind the curtain. "Hello ma'am" I said. "How much are you wanting?" "20 silver pieces." Said Bo Peep. My eyes almost popped out of my sockets. "That's double what you charged last week." Said Jared. "And it's double what you'll pay this week." She said.

"Give us one more day." I said. "We'll have the money by then." Bo looked us over. "Your lucky I'm in a charitable mood." She said. "I'll give you until sunset." Jared was about to protest, but I stopped him. "Thank you ma'am." I said.

Once Bo Peep left, Jared sat down in a chair. "Where are we going to get 20 silver pieces by sunset?" He said. "I-I don't know." I admitted.

We sat in silence for a moment. "There aren't many thieves around here." Said Jared. I looked at him in shock. "What are you saying?" I said. Jared looked at me. "I'm saying if we don't do something, we'll be slaves to Bo Peep forever."

"Jared! We can't become thieves!" I said. "We're only 12 years old!" "Do have a better solution?" Said Jared. I opened my mouth, but no words came out. I didn't have a better idea. "It won't be permanent." He said. "We'll make a promise." He said. "That when Snow White takes her proper place on the throne, we'll stop stealing. We'll go back to a normal life."

I stared at him. There really was no other way. "Fine." I said.

Present Day

Natalia's POV

I stared up at the now moving clock tower. When it started moving, something hit me. Like I shouldn't be with Eugene. I didn't know why the clock tower suddenly started moving. All I knew is that things were changing around here.
