Ryan's P.O.V:

/ / / /

As we started the walk back to the guys, I made a split second decision to grab Amelia's hand and grip it tightly as if I were some kind of desperate fan girl. I watched her intently to gauge her reaction but it never changed. She wore a blank expression that I seemed to be receiving more and more those days. She suddenly turned her had to look at me, as if she felt my eyes on her but I didn't turn away, I just continued to stare with confusion plastered on my face better than the plaster on the wall at home. She started to talk but nothing that she said registered in my brain and all I could see were her lips moving and her eyes staring into mine.

"What?" I asked suddenly and she rolled her eyes at me with a small smirk.

"Why do you keep looking at me like that? Do you like what you see?"

"No reason, and never." I muttered back bluntly and her eyebrows furrowed.

"There's something wrong, you can tell me." She said plainly. But the way she said those words made everything jumble up inside my brain and all I could do was look. Look at her. And look and look and look. But after a while of just looking I realised that she wouldn't drop the matter. That was just the kind of person Amelia was. She would shut you out of her life, so that she could help you with yours first. And so I decided to tell her. To tell her what I was feeling, why I felt that way and about all the ways she was constantly in my life without her even being physically there. I decided to use the balls I had and tell her the truth, all of it. Never, did I ever lie about the way I felt about someone. I didn't care what they'd say back, I just told them. But since I'd met Amelia it became different. With her nothing was normal. With her, everything just turns to mush and messes my head and heart around.

"Why are you still holding my hand?"I blurted. That wasn't what I was supposed to say, that was far from it but before I had a chance to rectify my cowardly mistake she spoke.

"I don't know, it feels nice I guess." She mumbled and I let a smirk take over my lips. I dropped the matter quicker then I thought I would. It obviously just wasn't the time to tell her.

"So you like it there, good girl?" I asked her cheekily and she glared at me.

"You feel the same way about it, "bad boy". So don't go bumping your gums before I make sure that's all you have left." She threatened with quotation marks and I laughed at her statement. Chances are she wouldn't stand a chance against me. But I could tell you that, without any chance, it would never come to it.

"Oh-" I chuckled. "If that's what you want to believe good girl."

"I'm not a good girl. A hot girl or bad girl possibly. But never good." She said and I rolled my eyes at her seriousness.

"If you're a hot girl, i'm a hotter boy."

"Sure you may be hot, Richards, but there are hotter guys out there." She smirked and my face fell into a glare. Why did she always have to bring other boys into our conversations? Whenever she so much as spoke about being with or even talking to another boy that she might have found attractive all I saw was red. Hot red anger. And yet none of it was ever aimed at her.

"But babe, you'd rather me and you know it." I winked. I was still tense and I knew she realised but chose to ignore it.

"Hmm, I think it's the other way around, babe." She replied and because of the way she called me babe my heart seemed to soar and my stomach felt as if it was a drum, being hit hard. Why? Because every single word of her sentence was true. I would always want her over anybody else. No matter the circumstance. I chose to ignore her, because if I'd have spoken I would have made a fool out of myself and I knew she'd never let me live it down.

As soon as we hit the doors to Mc-Donald's we immediate let go of each other's hands. I was hit with a sense of coldness from letting go of her skin but I ignored it. I sighed to myself quietly. I was getting more attached day by day. We headed up the stairs and to the table where the guys were still sat. They watched our every move, as if waiting for an explosion to happen. I sat back in my original seat whereas Amelia slid in next to Tommy and slung her arm around his shoulder.

As much as I knew she meant nothing by it and Tommy would never try anything with her I couldn't help the way my eyes glared where their skin met. I guess it was caution. I could never be sure if she felt the same way, and even if she did, there was no way of claiming her to be mine without a title of girlfriend. But I wasn't sure if i'd ever be ready for that, even if it was with Amelia.

"So who's in hospital and why aren't you in Jail?" Jimmy asked me once we were all settled again. Amelia snorted and I glared at her.

"What's so amusing?"

"The though of you doing something bad enough to go to Jail."

"Ryan's the first one i'd expect if I were called to bail someone out of Jail." Derek defended me and I grinned at him.

"No you wouldn't, you'd expect me. Ryan isn't 'hard' enough for that as you guys say." Amelia said and put quotations around 'hard'.

"And yet you're as hard as a sponge but none of us are complaining." I insulted as a joke and everyone Oo'd whilst I rolled my eyes, Amelia laughed and started to play with Izzie. That was another thing I liked about her. She knew when I was joking.

"Are you sure you'll be okay?" I asked Aaron once again and he rolled his eyes.

"I'll be fine now leave." He ordered Amelia and I.

"Okay okay! Just call if you need anything!" Amelia exclaimed and Aaron rolled his eyes.

"I can handle half an hour, now go! I don't want you here any longer!"

"Fine! Keep your hair on jeez!" Amelia said and raised her hands in surrender. Aaron didn't bother answering and simply pushed us out of his door and slammed it shut. Amelia shivered as we hit the cold, night air and I smirked.

"I told you to bring a jacket."

"And I told you you weren't my dad." She replied as we headed for my car. I bit my lip to stop myself from laughing. She noticed and gave me a blank stare. "Don't you dare turn that dirty Richards."

"You can't say something like that and not expect me to think about it in a dirty way. I'm a teenage guy for Christ's sake." I said and she rolled her eyes.

"Whatever just unlock the car."

Aaron had kicked us out due to the fact that Abby was now aloud to come home. We offered to stay with Izzie whilst he went to get her but he shook his head and told us that he didn't want 'tea-cup Rylia's' all over the house. And so, we were leaving back to our own houses. It would feel so weird to have no other responsibility other than ourselves anymore.

I fetched my keys and unlocked the car. We climbed in and just as I was about to start the engine Amelia started to talk.

"Ryan?"

"Yeah?"

"I'm taking you somewhere, switch seats." She ordered and I shook my head. She was absolutely bonkers if she thought i'd let her ever drive a car whilst I was present. The last time she drove would forever be etched into my memory. "I'm not going to kill us."

"That's what you said last time." I mumbled under my breath and she huffed.

"Hey! I heard that!" She shouted.

"Hay is for horses." I muttered as I remembered the saying my Mum always used to say, well, the whole time she had time for me anyway. I smiled sadly to myself absentmindedly as I had flashbacks of times with my Mum.

"What're you thinking about?" Amelia asked and snapped me out of my daydreaming.

"Oh. Nothing."

Luckily, she let it drop.

"You can tell me anything you know. We might have our differences but we are both just as mature when it comes to our minds and the way we think because of what we have been through. We can help each other."She said quietly after a few moments in silence.

It was times like these when I realised just how much I wanted Amelia in my life forever. It was also times like these when I simply wanted to kiss the daylights out of her. Somehow, she always knew the right thing to say at the right moment. She never sounded like a 16 year old girl. She always sounded older and much wiser then her days. But that was one of the million things that made Amelia her. And whenever she said things like that, I realised just how proud and thankful I was to know her.

I jumped out of the car, walked around to the passenger's side and opened the door. She just looked at me blankly.

"Move over then."

"Are you serious?" She asked excitedly and I nodded.

"Totally."

"I love you."

I froze at her words, as did she when she was halfway across getting to the driver's side, hovering over the gear stick.

"Nice view."I said and decided to carry on as normal, as if she hadn't just said the words I wished had a double meaning but knew didn't. She sat down in the driver's seat comfortable before she retaliated sarcastically.

"I do try my best to please your eyes."

"And i'm forever grateful."

After around half an hour of driving, pointless chatter and ignoring the elephant in the room - or should I say car - we arrived at our destination. It was a place designed as a square, with shops all around the outside of the square and a car park in the middle. There were no cars in the large car park and Amelia stopped us in front of the swimming pool.

"What are we doing here?" I asked.

"You'll see." She said and left the car. I followed her and we ended up at the back of the building. It was tall and wide but very boring, it simply had a few windows and brick walls. We could see the back entrance door but a fence stopped us form getting there. Amelia laughed suddenly.

"Aw, they thought this would stop me."

"They?"

"I'll explain later." She said and jumped to try and reach the top of the fence. She missed by a few inches and I bit my lip to stop myself from laughing.

"Here." I said and walked closer to her. I put my hands together and gestured for her to use me as a lift. She grinned at me and put her foot in my hands. She held onto my shoulders and I lifter her, once she was high enough to reach the top of the fence she grabbed it and hoisted herself up before she jumped down.

"It's your turn now." She smirked at me. "And you have no help." I laughed at her before I jumped. I grabbed the top of the fence and easily pulled myself up and over it before I jumped to the ground flawlessly. I wiped my hands together and smirked at her.

"You were saying?" I asked and she stood for a moment, stunned. Her eyes traveled my body a few times before they rested on my arms. "Are you done checking me out yet?" I asked cockily and she looked away and cleared her throat. Her face reddened slightly and I smirked. She headed for the door and I followed her. She rattled the lock on the door and I saw a smirk grace her face.

"The same as always." She mumbled and I stared at her as she grabbed a hair grip from her hair which was in a type of messy bun and started to pick the lock. I watched and wondered why she brought me here.

I had a feeling she came here often, but why?

"And that's how you pick a lock." She said triumphantly as the door swung open. She entered and I followed her. We went through multiple rooms but I didn't take note of what was in each one, or how many there were. Before I knew it we were at the pool. It was large, it was a square pool and got deeper the further away from the doors you got.

"Amelia, why did you bring me to a pool?" I asked tentatively.

"Sh." She turned around and put her finger on my lips. I stared down at her and let out a breath. "Relax and swim." She muttered and before I could register what was happening she had taken her top off and jumped in the water. I didn't even have time to stare. She re-surfaced from the water a few seconds later and I stared at her. "What are you waiting for?" She asked and I gulped. "Are you going to join me?" She added. A glint ran through her eyes that i'd never seen before, it was of excitement, like a child on Christmas morning. I felt my head get hot at the thought of admitting to Amelia why I wouldn't get in the pool.

"I, uh. I can't swim." I muttered. I was never taught, to some people it was a natural instinct, others needed to be taught. Unfortunately I never was. Every time I entered water that came above shoulder level I freaked. Amelia's jaw dropped at my statement.

"Really?"

"Yeah." I mumbled and looked at my feet. I didn't get embarrassed easily but it was something i'd never told anyone before. She swam to the side of the pool and pulled herself out of the water. The droplets glistened down her body perfectly as she stood up in front of me and shook herself off. Her hair fell down from its bun and the hairband fell to the floor as she sprayed me with the thing I liked to call a death trap and life-saver. As the hairband fell my eyes followed and once it hit the floor my eyes traveled up her body slowly. I wish i'd never looked. She was perfect.

"Well i'll have to teach you then, huh." She mumbled and my eyes snapped towards hers. I froze when she spoke. Only she would think about doing such an absurd thing whilst we were trespassing.

Only her.

"Right, take your shirt off then." She ordered and my eyebrows rose.

"Take my shirt off? Well if you say so-"

"So you can swim you dickhead." She laughed and I stopped halfway through taking my shirt off. Before I could pull it back down she grabbed the ends of it and yanked it over my head. "Was that really so hard?" She asked sarcastically and I gulped when I looked at her. I grabbed her by the waist and held her so that she was dangling over the edge of the pool.

"Don't you dare." She said seriously and I smirked at her before letting go of her for a split second. She screamed but I caught her before she was anywhere near the water.

"Don't be such a wuss." I teased her innocently with a smirk on my face. She glared at me and I knew she was close to having a rampage.

"Look Ryan-" And so it started. "-I can swim, but you don't know how well I can swim so if you had pushed me in I could have drowned. Sure I jumped in earlier but that was the shallow end-" That was shallow? Holy shi- "-But that is the deep end and if I drowned you couldn't jump in and save me so i'd die and no one but you would know! No one! I could have-"

I never let her finish her sentence. I kissed her, hard and she immediately melted into me. Our lips moved in time and my hands tightened on her waist whilst hers wrapped around my neck. My tongue swiped her lip when we were interrupted by an ear piercing screech.

"Shit." She pulled away and whispered. She grabbed her top from the ground along with mine. She chucked mine at me before starting to put hers on but it was too late. So late that I didn't even bother.

"Shit indeed." I muttered when I spotted the two Police Officers enter the room.

"Well well well, if it isn't Amelia Russell and Ryan Richards. I was wondering when your paths would cross."

"You know her?"

"You know him?" Both Amelia and I said at the same time. PC MC Ovis chuckled and shook his head at us.

"Of course, you're the two trouble makers of the town! Who doesn't know you?" Ovis asked and we didn't answer.

"Now, no time for introductions. Ryan, where's the squad. Amelia, what have we told you about coming here?" PC Morris asked and I rolled my eyes at him. He was always the strict one.

"Amelia is my squad. The rest are at home." I answered and both Police Officers nodded at me before they turned to Amelia.

"What are you doing here Amelia? You know the rules." Ovis asked and Amelia's face went red.

"I, Uh. Well I. Um. " I looked at Amelia in worry. She never got flustered. I grabbed her hand discreetly and squeezed it. "I wanted to show Ryan." She finished and squeezed my hand back. The officers' eyes looked at our hands but didn't comment. They simply looked at each other.

"Show me what?"

"I'll explain later." She whispered and I nodded. PC Morris got two pairs of handcuffs out and arrested both of us without saying a word.

"Where's the speech?" I asked cockily.

"You've both heard it enough times that you probably know it better than both of us." Ovis said and I smirked.

"I now-"

"Shut up Ryan." MC Morris said and grabbed my arms as he lead me out. Ovis followed with Amelia.

I turned backwards and caught eyes with Amelia. I winked at her and she shook her head at me with a smile.
