Chapter 8
Rex pulled the door shut and sat on the floor. Ahsoka sat across from him.
"Tell me about this nightmare of yours." she said.
"We were in a command ship. A hooded thing came down from the ceiling, shot you, and disappeared. You wouldn't let me go get help. You...you died." Rex said. A single tear fell from his eye and he wiped it away.
"Well, I'm fine." Ahsoka said. Rex nodded.
Ahsoka smiled. "You big baby. You know how many nightmares I had about you dying during the war?"
Rex shook his head. "No," he whispered, his mouth dry.
"Thirty-seven. Exactly. I counted." Ahsoka said.
"WHAT?! You should have told someone...you should have told me." Rex said.
"I know that. Hang on a sec."
Ahsoka pulled a backpack out from under her bed and started rummaging through it. Finally she pulled out a box of peanut butter cookies-Rex's favorite.
She put the box on the floor and sat next to him.
They ate cookies in silence for a while. The Ahsoka threw her arms around Rex's neck.
"Uh, 'Soka? What are you doing?" Rex asked.
"Giving you a hug, genius."
