Chapter Eighteen
The party went well, and everyone went to bed for the night. The members of the squad walked to their respective rooms and area, and Fae joined her brother, sister, and Mauve.
Eon gazed at her with pride. "Now, do you think you have what it takes to learn tackle? Mastering Bite is a huge step, however. If you're ever faced in a battle with a ghost type or in any sort of danger, you at least have Bite. However, you still have a fighting type disadvantage."
Fae nodded. She knew that having a huge fighting type weakness was bad. Neither normal moves or dark moves would be as effective against a fighting type if she were to face one.
How would I learn a Psychic type move, though? Fae wondered. She wasn't even certain she could learn anything for that weakness. Maybe I'll just have to evolve into Espeon or Sylveon in order to have the advantage. She pondered. Or have Shadow Ball.
Her brother helped her get through the mob of Starters, opening the door to the office of the shiny Charizard Paarthurnax. He was in there sorting through papers and grumbling to himself about something. Was there something bothering him? Was it villains?
"Fae has successfully mastered Bite," Eon informed the distracted leader. The distracted Pokémon was still mumbling incoherently as he looked at Eon before breaking his frown into a grin. "That's wonderful," he seemingly grumbled. "But I'm busy. You can come back later. Glad to hear you're training's going well, but I have other priorities at the moment. My apologies."
Paarthurnax flicked a clawed paw their way before going back to his work, his tail swishing back and forth as he tried to work. Wonder what he's working on, Fae wondered as Eon dipped his head.
"Of course, Paarthurnax. We'll leave you to your work." Eon responded. He flicked his tail towards the door. "Come on, guys. Let's leave him to his work. We can celebrate Fae's major accomplishments together." Eon flicked Fae's face with his tail as the five Pokémon one by one walked out the door.
"So, Fae, what would you like to do to celebrate? We could go get Pokepuffs over at the cafe." Fergus suggested, flicking his purple split tail tip in excitement.
Neri rolled her eyes, smiling at her boyfriend's excitable tone. "If Fae wants to go somewhere to get desert we can, however, it's up to her not you." Neri broke the news. Fergus' tail dropped.
"Aww," he whined slightly. "I wanted Pokepuffs."
He turned towards Fae. "Come on, Fae! Give in! I want to eat pokepuffs!" He exclaimed with fake tears. The pressure was on with Fergus.
"Uhm," Fae began, feeling the wheelchaired Espeon pad closer to her with pleading eyes. The pressure to decide felt really extreme. Was it really necessary for Fergus to make this harder for her? She wanted to eat something sweet, she knew that much—however she wasn't sure what they should get to celebrate. Her mother usually decided this stuff for her.
Fae shook her head. Her mother wasn't here. She was dead! She would have to decide for herself what she was going to do.
"I think we should get something else, sorry, Fergus. I do think desert sounds great, but I don't really want Pokepuffs at this time. Perhaps some ice cream?" Fae suggested. Fergus seemed slightly disappointed, but smiled softly anyways.
"Of course, Fae. We can get ice cream! As long as it's sweet!" The Espeon exclaimed before the street lights turned on. It was night time and the sky had turned dark around the time that Fae and Hericius went inside to start partying. "Come on guys!" Fergus exclaimed as he and Mauve raced over to an ice cream shop nearby. It was rubbed by a Vanilluxe.
Eon began to follow them, but paused and closed his eyes. It was a weird thing for Fae to see. Her brother just up and stopped. His rings glowed pink briefly and it seemed the pink glow could be seen from within his eye lids. His body seemingly shook for a brief moment before he opened his eyes, looking at Fae with a sort of fierce determination.
"Ah, I see how it is." He remarked, talking to no one in particular. "I'll play along to your little games."
His eyes met Fae's. The pink glow was still there. Fae searched his eyes, trying to find out why he had stopped. The only thing she could see in his eyes was a matching set of scars.
Eon shook his head. "What was that?" Fae asked him. The Umbreon ignored her as he happily followed the other three Eeveelutions. Fae watched as he bounded after him. He still had this grim aura to him. Which brought questions to Fae's mind.
What happened? Why did his rings and eyes glow a light pink? It was like he saw something no one else could see. Fae shook her head. She shouldn't think of it further. Eon ignored it, and so should she. She took a step forward.
Suddenly, a Pokémon blocked her from going to the ice cream shop. It was a Gothita. She could barely make out the outline of the Gothita. Was something wrong?
"Hello?" She questioned. "Is something wrong?" The Gothita smirked. "Not anymore," she responded with a giggle as Fae saw the Gothita's eyes creepily glowing a purple color before Fae realized she couldn't move. But why would she move? Despite the danger she was in, Fae felt peaceful and quite calm.
A sudden command felt it's way through her mind. She didn't want to disobey it she realized.
Go to sleep.
She felt tiredness creeping up her and felt her eye lids heavily fall closed. She could feel her body move around suddenly and she collapsed into slumber.
Voices. She could hear such loud voices. Screams of disapproval and screams of accomplishment. Fae groaned, trying to rub her eyes. Sleep was still evident in her eyes as she tried to rub it away. But her paws never reached her face.
She jolted up with a start, realizing her paws were tied behind her back and she was not in Poketown. She couldn't even recognize where she was. Panic struck her as she struggled within the ropes that bound her.
Shouts made her halt her struggles. Her ears perked as she listened, wondering what was going on.
"Viola! I told you to put someone to sleep, not kidnap Eon's sister!" A Darkrai shouted at the Gothita from earlier. The Gothita seemed peeved by this. The Darkrai was strange, he had gray eyes and seemed to have a scar going over both his eyes.
He must have been attacked by a strong Pokémon, Fae hypothesized. She was still feeling awfully calm for being in such a situation. It took so much to force herself to realize the true danger she was in. What kind of attack was that? She wondered. I can't believe I let my guard down.
"Well, you have an opportunity presented to yourself, Mr. Skliros. I kidnapped his sister, and now you can do what you originally wanted to do with the Umbreon you so desperately want to rid of. Once he comes over, you cut off his head or something. Have a tea party. I don't care! I just was showing you my loyalty." The supposed Viola explained.
What?! They want to do what to Eon?! Why?! He's so nice?!
Fae was angry at them. How dare they talk about murdering her brother! Wait, they wanted her as bait! She knew she should have thought more of seeing such a Darkrai. She remembered those scars on the other one's face.
This must be the same one.
Fae looked around her. There wasn't just the Darkrai and Gothita. There was also a Mewtwo—this intimated her—and a black Greninja around the area. There might have been more, but Fae could only see these ones. The Mewtwo held some papers in his alien-like hands.
The Mewtwo huffed as the two argued about what happened. "Can't get any research done with such incompetence." He remarked with a shake of his head. He then stood up from where he was seated.
Obviously, she was in some sort of safe house. It wasn't a cave like she thought.
The Mewtwo's glance turned to her. "Oh, you're awake." The Mewtwo remarked calmly, as if he knew she was awake the whole time. "Where am I?" She asked him in confusion and fear. The Mewtwo snorted. "You can thank Viola for that. For now, I suppose you're in our house. Our safe house." The Mewtwo informed her.
She glared at him. "That doesn't answer my question. Why am I here?" She asked him immediately after. The Mewtwo rolled his eyes. "Ask Viola that. She's the one who brought you here. I was just here to witness the show." He commented, lashing his tail. "Anyways, I suppose you're stuck with us until we can bludgeon your brother."
The Mewtwo's smirk grew wide as Fae screamed loudly. "Sheesh. So loud." He commented with a mischievous grin. "Anyways, I've got an important mission, bye."
Then the Mewtwo disappeared and the Darkrai and the Gothita turned to her. "Well, fuck a Muk. She's awake." The Darkrai groaned as he rubbed his face.
