Chapter Nineteen
The Darkrai circled around Fae, his expressionless face gazing at her with slight curiosity. "You're a shiny," he noted thoughtfully, a ragged clothed paw on his face. His face contorted into a smile. "We could use you." He stated.
Huh?!
Fae began to panic. "Use me?! What the heck are you talking about?!" She exclaimed as she struggled a bit.
The Darkrai chortled at her reaction. "Cute," he remarked before he grabbed her by the ropes that bound her. "You seem innocent. Let me just simplify this for your small, dead brain: I want your brother dead. You see, your brother is not who you think he is."
Fae growled at him. "Eon is my brother!" She shouted. "He's willing to help me get an adventure." The Darkrai chuckled. "From what I've seen, you act like a newborn. You don't even know how to use many moves and you just mastered a few." He commentated.
This Pokémon was stalking her? Not only that, but he kidnapped her over a feud he had with her brother. Fae was furious. They shouldn't have involved her. She wanted nothing to do with this sort of fight—but it feels like no matter how hard she tries to convince herself Fae would always get involved with fights she felt weren't hers.
But were they really just Eon's? He might have his own problems, but Fae was his sister. Fae shook her head. Getting angry wouldn't help in this situation.
The Darkrai rolled his eyes. "Raw anger I see. You don't even know my side of the story, Vee. What? Just because I'm the opposition doesn't mean I'm the bad guy. Wait a minute—of course I'm the bad guy! That's all us Dark types are, huh? Well, besides your brother of course. He must be so, so noble!" He mocked.
Fae tried to keep her temper in check.
"Who are you?" She asked him in restrain. She watched him float about. The Darkrai continued to float about for a moment. He seemed to consider whether or not it was safe to give Fae his name.
Finally he said, "Skliros. Listen, Vee—" "Fae," the shiny Eevee interrupted the older. "Listen, Fae, your brother and I have some beef. I really don't have much against you, but you're close to him." He then mumbled, "It's not like I have a choice anyways. Thanks, Mrs. Quick thinker, Viola."
It seemed like he didn't want to involve Fae—which she was at least glad he was not as willing to kidnap her as she thought. His demeanor seemed unlike the kidnapping type, however he seemed to be willing to change plans if opportunity struck.
"Well, anyways, you'll be here to stay. Just relax. I don't have any really big plans for you anyways." Skliros informed her, earning an complaint from the Gothita—Viola—who kidnapped her. Skliros flashed a glare at her. "For now, you can sit back and relax. However, I am to need you to keep all this hidden. Trust me, your brother is hiding something from you. You might as well hide this from him." The Darkrai informed her.
Well, that is what she does best is it? Hide everything bad from herself.
The Darkrai's blind gazed turned on her. "Well, don't you have anything to say?" He asked her calmly. He fumbled around for something before a shiny Greninja snuck over and handed him his top hat.
"Ah, yes, there it is. Thank you, Rau." He thanked briefly before putting it on. The so-called-Rau kept her head down as she skunk back into the shadows. This made Fae wonder why a starter would join these guys. She seemed to not belong.
Fae tried to think of something to say. What could she say to her creepy kidnapper anyways? Perhaps there was still some good in him? He didn't seem interested in killing her at least—unlike the other bad guys she was confident she ran into.
"I'm not sure if I have anything to say to be honest. I am pretty upset you kidnapped me. Can't you easily fix this by making up with my brother?" She asked. It was innocently, and very confusedly. "Hmm?" She asked, trying to indicate she was curious about this. She wanted an answer.
The Darkrai flinched. "It's not that simple, V—Fae." He answered. He seemed slightly angry about her confusion. This only made her more confused. How come it couldn't be so simple to forgive and forget?
"But why isn't it so simple for you to put behind what my brother did to you?" She asked him. He chuckled. "You see, it's not easy to forgive the one who blinded you." He revealed.
Fae gasped. Her brother did that? How could someone as friendly and nice as Eon do something so evil to anyone? Even if he was a Darkrai, that didn't mean he should be blinded for being powerful.
"He blinded you?" She asked in shock. The Darkrai nodded his head, smirking for whatever reason.
But wait, it isn't that simple is it? She wondered. It didn't sound like Eon to brutally maime someone. There had to be more to this story. I shouldn't get mad this quickly. Surely there cooked be a forgiveness hug or something. Skliros might just be too angry at this. Like me.
If there was one thing she knew about her brother it was he was no cruel pokemon. He wasn't a killer.
"It couldn't have been simple." She remarked. "Of course not. He was jealous of me." The Darkrai lied.
He was jealous? Eon never acted jealous. Sure, guilty, but never anything to that degree. Is this Darkrai creating lies? Why?
"Maybe I should ask Eon." She mumbled before he—Skliros—floated down to the ground to sit. Skliros seemed to hear her. He didn't seem upset by her comment. "Sure. You can hear what he has to say, but don't you think it's still pretty bad to blind someone?" The Darkrai asked her softly.
It did seem wrong, but maybe it was also his fault. This Darkrai was badmouthing her brother. She probably shouldn't listen to him.
"It's pretty bad to blind someone, but it's also bad to lie." She remarked. The Darkrai shifted slightly. Emotionlessly, still, he reached a rag doll paw into his hat. He pulled out a tea set.
"Do I seem like a liar?" He asked her. A little bit. She thought. But I won't say that out loud. He seems...friendly.
"I mean, I wouldn't know if you're lying or not, but I know my brother would tell me otherwise. It's up to me to decide whether or not my brother hurt you on purpose. I don't believe he would do it as such. Maybe to protect someone." She remarked.
The Darkrai chuckled. His blind eyes flashed with knowing. "Protection? Yes. I'm sure he enjoyed protecting those petty squad members from me. All for what, some dumb prophecy?" Skliros was frustrated with this fact.
Prophecy?! What? What is this gentlemanly Pokémon talking about?! He seemed reasonable up to this point too. What a shame. He seems insane. My brother doesn't have that kind of Power. He sure does have some sort of unworldly power, but he never told me about anything that sounded like he could have such powers. Plus what Pokémon would be that powerful anyways? There's got to be a bull somehow.
"He's a prophet?" Fae questioned him. The Darkrai didn't say anything. "Well, sort of. He can predict the future. Something about protecting—" "He was protecting Arceus from you. You're the one who Tudi warned me about aren't you?" Fae asked.
She felt surprisingly calm for meeting such a dangerous Pokémon. She must be fearless.
The Darkrai didn't say anything. He stood up and emotionlessly approached the Mewtwo from earlier. "Is Eon on his way?" He asked the Mewtwo. The Mewtwo looked like he didn't want to be here. He responded anyways. "No, not from what I know."
The Darkrai seemed to be in thought. "We'll keep waiting." He remarked before a loud battle cry sounded out.
A purple blur came floating around in a blue aqua jet, knocking over Kiumbe who just groaned in annoyance. "Come on! I don't like battling losers." He snapped, using Thunderbolt to knock back the Vaporeon.
Eon padded out of the darkness with slight disappoint. "That's sad of you to come to this, Skliros. You're blind, you cannot see. You cannot see what pain you're bringing yourself, I, Fae. Why'd you bring my sister into this?" Eon asked him calmly, yet he seemed slightly upset.
Skliros turned his head towards the amateur who brought Fae here. Said amateur—viola—tried to shrink her little Gothita head.
Skliros turned his head back towards Eon. "It's not just you and your Eeveelution family, isn't it? Who else did you bring?" The Darkrai asked with a slight annoyed tone.
"You know," Eon snorted. "Just a whole army. Not that I didn't need it. Just thought it would be funny. Wanna know how I found you?"
