Chapter Thirty-Five

Fae's Quick Attack knocked Viola backwards, bringing back Luxray and Corvus' senses before Viola's eyes glowed once more. It was time to finish this.

Fae noticed her brother had disappeared, but continued to focus her attention on the Luxray's glowing eyes as he tried to defeat her once going back to his controlled state.

Corvus and Luxray both growled and Luxray immediately used Thunderbolt. The Thunderbolt was a bright purple in color. It was hideous and it's glow almost blinded Fae. She had to physically close her eyes and reached out, trying to feel her way around the battlefield.

She wasn't sure whether or not she was dodging attacks or if the Luxray had blinded everyone on the battlefield. However, a loud, "Gah," could be heard and Fae heard the sound of a body crashing into what sounded like someone tripped over something metallic. Maybe trashcans?

Fae slowly opens her eyes to see Neri belly-down on a trash can. However, she also saw the ground move just below her.

Curious, Fae followed the strange indents in the ground. They had made their way towards Luxray, and then out popped Eon. Luxray had his back towards Fae as he was trying to figure out where he was himself, blinking furiously in anger.

He was growling slightly as he pawed at his face.

His eyes suddenly shot open, and he let out a cry of pain as Eon pulled two of his paws into the hole. Eon then dug back under the ground, pulling the Luxray along with him.

The Luxray roared, squirming quite a bit. This stalled Eon's secondary Dig, and caused him to have quite the struggle with the Luxray.

I have to distract him!

Fae used Bite on Luxray's forepaws. They were sticking out like a sore thumb, and just wishing for Fae's big choppers that appeared out of thin air.

Fae had never understood her Bite attack. She never used her actual fangs. Instead, using fangs that seemed to be attached to either a ghost or just her move usage.

Luxray cried out, finally getting the brains to use an electric move. He used Spark. The move hit Fae, and she wailed loudly as she jumped backwards.

The pain she felt when being struck with the move was almost unbearable. Her fur smelt burned and her body was far more heated now than it has been before being shocked.

Fae gasped as the Luxray sparked some more. The Luxray fired a Thunderbolt at her. She screamed, and she heard the desperate grunts of Eon as he pulled the Luxray down some more.

The Luxray panicked and struggled some more, trying to walk as he was being pulled. It didn't work. Eon was just pulling even harder somehow. He was moving back slowly under the ground. The markings and digging animation showed Fae where Eon was.

The Luxray's paws flailed about in the air until he was pulled under the earth with Eon. Only his head remained.

The battle continued without him, thankfully.

Corvus continued on with his attacks. His eyes were on Fae the entire time. He viciously tried to maime Neri's face without using a move. Neri managed to pull away as he leaped at her face.

Corvus growled as he landed. He kicked up more dust as he started to charge up a Swift attack.

By this point, Eon had managed to defeat the Luxray by his lonesome. He had his scruff in his jaws. He seemed to be pulling the older Pokémon out of the grave-like hole Eon had pulled him through. His eyes were back to their original color, as red as a perfect apple.

They, however, were swirled with black lines as he had fainted. Poor Luxray. He was just trying to help this town it seemed. Fae didn't understand why, but he had been helping.

Was Luxray just misunderstood? Well, he is a Pokémon who has been caught by a human. They just obey their masters even if they don't like or understand what they're doing.

Fae shivered. Some Pokémon might not even know their deeds are seen as evil until much later.

Fae put the topic aside in her mind as she turned to Corvus. Finally it was just the two of them. Just Corvus and Viola. Fae was hoping she could at least convince Corvus this was all just a plan to get her brother.

Why else would they control one of her new friends? Fae jumped into action as the little Eevee used Shadow Ball on Mauve.

"Mauve, lookout!" She exclaimed as she reached a paw out. If she was trying to stop the attack with a psychic power that didn't exist, she was not going to stop it.

The purple shiny's ears twitched and Mauve managed to dodge away. If she had moved the other way, then she would've been hit. She wasn't, but Fae knew if she moved the other way she could've been hit hard.

"Thanks Fae!" Mauve exclaimed before using Ice Beam on the Eevee. Corvus in his controlled state just stared at the oncoming attack.

Did he not think she would be able to hit him with such an accuracy based attack? She was blind, but she could still hear approximately where the enemies were.

Unluckily for him, he was wrong about blind Pokémon in his controlled state. He got a face full of ice, and screamed as the attack sent him flying into the sky. His limbs flailed about as he attempted to find ground that didn't come.

He hit the tree, groaning in pain. His controller was still fighting, attempting to take down Neri with the same psychic attacks that were controlling Corvus. She obviously didn't know her type advantages as well as she seemed to. Or maybe she thought using Hypnosis on a Dark Type would allow her to control them?

Either way, Neri obviously couldn't be status afflicted for some reason. If she had powers at this point it wouldn't be a surprise. Fae and Eon both had powers. If she couldn't be afflicted by the status conditions that was better than if she was sleeping or controlled.

However, Fae didn't know if controlling someone had to do with making them fall asleep with Hypnosis first.

She ignored that and went back to battling with Corvus. "Why can't you just love me?!" He wailed.

Fae almost shivered. It was bad enough when he followed her around like a lost Skitty, but it was another thing now when Viola made him all creepy-like.

Fae was fortunate he was more understanding than those types of males. That's why she liked him. He was more curt and nice. He didn't exactly put himself as on to her as the ones in the stories her mother told her.

Then again her mother didn't want her to go outside. But that was then and this is now.

Fae figured saying nothing to him in his controlled state was better.

Well, it's now or never. I would like to have my friend back thank you very much. Fae thought as she used Bite on Corvus.

Corvus cried out in pain.

Fae had to remind herself that while this was Corvus' body, she was doing this for him to wake up. He needed to wake up. He needed to be stopped. His body was causing so much damage.

Who knew such a small Eevee could cause such destruction? If Fae knew how much destruction she could have done she probably could have saved her mother. But she didn't.

But she had a chance now with Corvus. She could beat this Darkrai. She could save this Luxray, who was not only under the orders of a Pokémon Trainer-and-Scientist but under control of a different source now too.

She could save anyone she put her mind too. And she planned on it that way.

Fae used Tackle on Corvus, feeling extra powerful when she smashed into him. The younger male skittered this time, his body starting to become bartered and bruised.

Fae stared at him with zeal. She was ready to defeat him once and for all. This battle wasn't exactly a war, but it was enough to convince Fae she needed to do something.

She heard a cry nearby as Kiumbe fled. He had been battling Zen and Lazarus this whole time. The two roared loudly as they immediately finished off Skliros' hp with their combined special moves.

They had won.

Fae didn't let herself celebrate too soon, allowing herself time to use Bite again. This time, Neri and Eon joined her. Together, the three finished off Corvus who hit a tree and fainted.

Fae let out a cry of victory. They had did it. Then Fae turned around and flinched. The town was destroyed.

What now?

A sickly green Braixen approached them and the mass of bodies, dead and alive. "Were you the ones who put a stop to that dreadful Corvus and his minions?" He asked.

Neri nodded in confusion. "Yeah, but you see Corvus wasn't exactly in control of his body." Neri tried to defend with a look at Fae who just dilated her eyes in focus.

"I see, well then, follow me." He instructed with a dip of his head, a light of peacefulness within his gaze was evident.

Fae really hoped they did enough to convince them this Eevee Tribe could be friends with them.
