Chapter Twenty-Four
This was the second time Fae had been kidnapped, and both times the Pokémon didn't seem evil. These guys even less than Skliros. She watched as the Fuecoco now known as Timsah fumbled with a bag.
The bandits had already raided the bags they had. They had been very disappointed with Fae's bag, which had been filled up with pretty rocks and the note that Hericius had given her to remember the address of the HQ. They were also disappointed with Eon's bag, which had his sunglasses in them.
It seems they weren't looking for things to sell, rather things to eat or possibly the money that they took out of Fergus and Neri's bags. Either way, they haven't done much since then. They had been feeding the captives, which couldn't be helping them as bandits since they themselves were obviously poor and starving.
Somehow, though, they managed.
Fae learned since then the little Totodile who was called Kawai had a huge crush on his boss. Which would explain why he let her hit him—or perhaps that didn't explain anything. He wouldn't stop blabbing to Fae about it. Fae wished he would stop. There was only so much of his talking she could handle. She could understand why the other bandits got pissed off at the little guy. He could be a little much.
Fae wondered what was in Timsah's bag this time. It seemed to be filled with something. The Fuecoco opened the bag and spilled the contents with irritation at how hard she had to shake it in order to get all the contents out. She sure was a hasty female.
Fae and her family had tried to escape several times. Nothing really seemed to work. It was usually Denali who saw them and alerted Timsah before any of them could escape. The string shots that bound them weren't the most toughest thing to get out of, however they made them slow. That was what got them caught.
Fae didn't understand why these Pokémon kept them. They were kidnapped, sure, but why keep them if they had what was in their bags? It didn't make any sense. And of course, none of the Pokémon in her family had any solid plans.
At this rate, Fae would be satisfied with the Luxray coming to her rescue. At least someone would be doing something around here.
The Totodile nearby was pacing back and forth for whatever reason. "Uhm, Ma'am?" He began, lifting a finger. He gulped. The Fuecoco sighed and spun around in slight annoyance. "What is it, Kawai?" She huffed, putting her paws on her waist. "I might have been seen by someone..." he vaguely stated as his glance turned towards the ground.
Outraged, the Fuecoco screamed at him, and punched him. Kawai yelped as he fell backwards. "Sorry! I didn't mean to be seen! Wanna know what's even worse?" He asked, digging his own grave even further.
The Fuecoco snarled at him. "What...did...you...do?!" She roared as she punched the ground near him. She surely had anger issues. A hasty Pokémon to begin with, and a Pokémon with anger issues. Not a good combo.
"I'm sorry! She followed me!" The Totodile wailed as he burst into tears.
Timsah groaned.
"Who followed you? A member of the Eevee Squad? Starter? Who?" Timsah demanded as fire developed inside her maw.
The smaller Totodile started to shiver. "It—it was a really pretty fellow, might I tell you!" He started with a wail.
Okay, how many girls does this dude develop a crush on without much thought? Fae wondered. She had learned that her sister was dating Fergus and that romance existed thanks to Hericius.
She didn't even know what kind of Golem she was living on until then. Her own parents were married, yet she didn't understand relationships. Then again, she didn't think much of them anyways. She wasn't really interested in dating, nor had she seen the appeal in dating a guy anyways.
Back on track, Kawai started doing some sort of jumping Jack ritual or something. He waved his paws in the air. "She asked me if I knew a Fuecoco by your name, and I thought maybe she was some sort of admirer of you like I was." He continued.
Fae knew where this one was going. He obviously said—
"And you said yes, didn't you?" Timsah groaned in exasperation. Was this not the first time the little Totodile's done something like this? Then again, if Fae could spy something like this a mile away, then it was likely it was a cliche for this little guy to tell the truth. He made an awful villain. Fae got that note off right away. And this solidified it more than anything.
Kawai nodded his head with tears in his eyes.
How could any creature get tricked into such a life like this? Was it the desperation for food? Or the crush?
"Ugh! You're way more trouble than your worth! Can you do anything right?!" Timsah groaned.
"Well," an unfamiliarly high voice behind Kawai began. "He's obviously not a good liar, but he is good at the truth and showing me where my next bounty is!"
A Scorbunny jumped from behind a bush, paws on her hips as she tried to balance herself heroically. "Ugh, who invited the ugly bunny?" Timsah groaned as she fired off a Smokescreen at the Scorbunny. The Scorbunny unskillfully dodges the attack, tripping over her own feet somehow.
She seemed like a pathetic hero, but a heroes a hero, Fae assumed.
"Ugly?! You're the one who's fucking talking shorty! Who created you? Giratina?" The Scorbunny sassed.
"Oh, I bet you think that one was clever. It isn't." Timsah responded with a Tackle. The Scorbunny didn't manage to get out of the way in time, and got sent back.
The female glances over at the captives, her eyes widening. "Oh! I didn't notice you had visitors. What hospitality. Keeping such cute Pokémon captive like this? What a host!" The Scorbunny exclaimed sarcastically.
The Scorbunny barely dodges the oncoming Ember as she quickly uses an Ember of her own to break Eon free from the strings that bound him.
Eon stretches.
"Thanks!" He quickly says before facing the Gen nine starter with a slightly upset look. "No problem. Unfortunately, I didn't come here to rescue you, just catch someone that has a bounty. But hey, at least you're rescued. I don't know how long you've been here." The Scorbunny remarks awkwardly.
The two then face Timsah, who glances over towards Cotyledon for assistance. The Leavanny had been working on something, but quickly got up to assist.
Did this Fuecoco not know about type advantages? She could have easily asked Kawai or Denali who both had the type advantage. Fae was certain the four times weakness to fire types would definitely bring down Cotyledon. The bug-and-grass type still stood strong as he prepared himself for this fight.
The Scorbunny took them both seriously despite the obvious type advantage. "Hey, Umbreon. What is your name?" The Scorbunny asked. "Eon. Are we going to rescue my family?" Eon asked, concern in his gaze as he looked at Neri and Fae before turning to the fire type besides him.
"In a minute, Umbre. What moves do you know?"
"Dig, Quick Attack, Double Team, Dark Pulse, and Shadow Claw." The dark type informed her in a whisper so that Timsah didn't hear.
Louder, Eon asks, "Hey, what about you? What's you're name?" Fae didn't really think now was a good time for introductions, but the Scorbunny responded to Eon anyways. "Me? Oh, I'm just a Bounty Hunter by the name of Terbium. Now, let's take down this criminal!" The Scorbunny cheered as she easily took down Cotyledon with a Flameflower, Quick Attack combo.
The leavanny screamed as he fainted, groaning in pain.
"Ugh. Useless! He was useless to me anyways," Timsah growled as she ran at Terbium in a Tackle. Terbium got tackled down by Kawai, who seemed confused at what to do here.
The tackle attack missed, and Timsah screeched at Kawai. "What are you doing?! Kill her! Hurt her! Just stop helping her!" Timsah roared as she used Smokescreen to cover the battlefield as Eon began pawing at the ground in a dig, and sunk beneath the earth.
Kawai glanced around confused, glancing at Terbium for support. Terbium's eyes widened as she instructed him on what she thought he should do.
"You should help us!"
The Totodile was confused. This prompted Terbium to continue. "She's been abusing you. I can see the marks. You won't go to jail either way, but I can offer you a new home. She's a jerk. I'll help you survive rather than...whatever she does. Please. You're super effective against her. Please help."
Kawai decided to do the right thing. He used Water gun at the same time Eon came up from the dig, and Timsah screamed.
Fae assumed he helped mainly because he liked Terbium. It was a weird thing to see. A strangely innocent Totodile willing to help someone just because he thought she was cute—or maybe this was more common than Fae thought.
Timsah fainted with betrayal on her face, and Terbium walked over with a set of hand cuffs. Kawai followed her with doe eyes.
What an oddball.

Author's Note: Well I created a simp.
Anyways let me know your thoughts on this weird chapter. It was okay for me. Not the best chapter obviously. Then again this story isn't the best story I have. Lol.
Thanks for reading!
