Chapter 4
*G's POV*
I sat awkwardly across from Tori. There wasn't much to do honestly. She was washing the pie sheet and plates while I lounged in one of her armchairs with a cigarette in hand.
"It's so nice to see you finally, G," she said, not turning from her work. I let out a puff of smoke and turned to look at her.
"Yeah, same here Tori."
"Has anything gotten better for you and your little brother?"
There was a long pause before she entered. I just looked at her with a plain expressin, her eyes seemed to go cloudy in remembrance. The goat women knelt to my side and gripped my hand caringly.
"I understand, my child. I am terribly sorry for all you have endured..."
I shrugged and let out another puff.
"They're hot on mah tail, but I won't let them get any closer." Which was true. No way was I letting them get any closer me or my brother. Not after all this time has passed.
A door down the hall opened and I stood up almost instantly. Frisk stepped into the living room, fully dressed in Tori's extra clothing. A white dress with a blue sash, cut out see through, laced sides. A pair a black laced shoes and a silver cloak wrapped her body as a golden flower crown lined her head. I think back to seeing it before, but shake it off.
Dang, she looked good for once!
She smiled shyly, cheeks a light pink as she began swaying her dress. "Does it look okay?"
I just shrugged and grunted, earning an elbow to the ribs from Tori. I looked down to see her angry glare she had casted me form quickly to a sweet smile.
"Absolutely beautiful, my child." she chirped genuinely.
Frisk blushed even more as I rolled my 'eyes' and turned on my heel. Honestly, I don't care. I'm just here to get her out of my hair..........If I had any that is.
Toriel cleared her throat behind me, causing me to look over my shoulder at the ladies. "G, I can't keep her here, as you are aware. She needs to find her Guardian." I looked from Tori to Frisk, who was browsing the books off a nearby bookshelf.
"And you expect me to help her?" I guessed. She simply nodded. I groaned, speaking a bit louder. "I'm not her parent nor do I share a soul with her, how am I supposed to find her Guardian?"
"Guardian?" Frisk chimed in, being noisy. Tori and I turned to see her looking at us curiously, eyes big like a kid's. "What's a Guardian?"
We all stayed silent for a second while we pondered what to say. Personally, I didn't wanna explain anything, so naturally, I turn back to Tori and eye her, telepathically telling her to take charge. Cause ya know, I'm not good at explaining shit.
Toriel sighed and motioned for her to come forward. Frisk hesitantly moved forward as Tori took my spot in the armchair. I rolled my 'eyes' and walked to the other side of the room to listen. After that whole soul fiasco in the Ruins, I didn't wanna be anywhere near this kid.
"My child, do you wish to hear the story of Guardians?" Tori asked. It took a few moments before Frisk nodded and sat down.
"Very well," Toriel started. "Long before we were banished down here, Monsters and Humans ruled the Surface.
We all lived in peace under the laws we ordered. A gene in a Monster and Human bound us together. Those who were bonded with a Monster were called a Vigilant and those bonded with a Human were called a Guardian."
"So, a Monster would protect some random Human in the world?" Frisk asked, cocking an eyebrow.
I sighed. "Yeah, that's right." She looks over at me but averts her eyes quickly.
She continued asking questions. "How did they know? Could they have several?"
Tori laughed. "Slow down, my child! They knew deep down in their soul, that and that their soul wouldn't let the others go. As for multiple Humans, no, The Guardians had one Vigilant their whole lives, if they fail and The Vigilant dies, then they live on."
I remained silent, smoking in the corner as they talked. It's not like I needed a refresher, I've seen Guardians and Vigilants work before. "Have either of you had a Vigilant?" Frisk asked. I looked up to see her gazing back and forth between me and Tori.
"Nope, not yet and hopefully not anytime soon." I snarled. She tilted her head in confusion.
"Why not?"
"2 things. 1) None of ya' business 2) None of ya' damn business."
She scoffed at me, leaning back and letting out a long sigh in defeat. "Do I have a Guardian?"
Toriel nodded. "Of course, my child! Any human with a soul and trait are considered a Vigilant. That being said, must find them, or rather, you two must." Tori glances my way with a pleading smile.
My sockets widened as I stepped forward in protest. "UH...I'M NOT HELPIN' A HUMAN! NOT AFTER THE LAST TIME!"
Frisk jumped in shock at my outburst, hands balled up into fists in her lap, clutching her dress and rumpling it. Her eyes were wide and her lips tightened to a thin line. I felt a sense of satisfaction in seeing her tense up, but I was still pissed.
Tori stood up, stepping towards me. She pats my shoulder and smiles sadly. "I know you don't want to child..."
I still can't believe she hasn't stopped calling me that, even after everything. But, she is far too kind for me to be mad at her for it, so I let it be.
"Please G, just find her Guardian and they'll take her to the Capital. That's all you need to do." I sighed and nodded reluctantly.
Tori stepped back as I turned back to Frisk with a glare. This brat is sooo lucky that the goat mom was there. I chuckle lowly "Looks like ya' stuck with me for a bit, Dollface."
She rolled her eyes, stood up, and walked down the hall.
I hate ya' too, babe. Hate ya' too.
