Chapter 9

*Third Person POV*

"In memory of Frisk Evans, she left a testament for us to read," the Priest said. Mr and Mrs Evans sat quietly in the pews, awaiting the end of the funeral. Assuming she had died after falling into Mt Ebott, a funeral took place a week later.

No tears were shed for Frisk.

The Priest cleared his throat and put on his reading glasses as he read the note left in her bedroom.

"I never had a good life. Sure, the first 7 years weren't bad, but I knew people secretly hated me. At first glance, I was perfect. Perfect parents, perfect house, perfect personality, nice clothing. Anyone who assumed this was wrong.

You see, I was bullied. Everyday I'd come home in tears with bruises along my body. My eyes. My red eyes. They were the cause of this. I pretended to be blind and kept my eyes closed in order to help, which in turn did.

The day my 4th Grade class had been exposed to my soul changed my life. In short, it sucked. I'd wake up, gloomily get ready, receive disappointed glances from my parents as I ate breakfast, and then head to school. Everyday was the same. Constant snickers and glares from teenagers brought my self esteem down. After school, I'd walk home. No one was man enough to stand in my way. Instead, they'd taunt from afar as I slumped home.

One night, I got into bed and tried to sleep. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't sleep. I quietly slipped out of bed to possibly get some water silently. Instead, I got an ongoing conversation.

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Mom asked.

"We have to put her up now or no one would adopt her."

My whole world shattered. I ran into the bathroom, scissors in hand. As tears streamed down my face, I chopped off my long hair to an uneven shoulder length.

I now write this. I'm packing up the essentials and leaving for a better life. To Mom and Dad, good luck without me.

I thought I loved you."

-Frisk

Everyone's eyes averted to Frisk's parents.

Frisk had gotten what she wanted. Her idiotic parents to finally be exposed for who they really were. Demons in her life

*Frisk's POV*

A nightmare sent me into a panicked sweat. I woke to see G nowhere in sight. My eyes widened and I shot up quickly. My lightheaded gaze shot in every direction as I tried to figure out where the hell that skeleton went.

I timidly stood up, still searching. "G?! Where the hell are you?!" I yelled.

No response.

My heart raced as I picked up the cloaks, wrapping my silver one around me and holding G's white and yellow one. I pulled up my hood and started walking.

A distant female laugh turned my attention towards it. Nothing. Another chuckle arose behind me. I turned again. Nothing. I was starting to become more and more afraid of what was stalking me, so I started picking up my pace.

"G! You better not be messing with me!" I yelled again, chuckles growing louder.

"Oh Frisky, my dear," A female voice called out. "He doesn't care."

I turned to see nothing. Another laugh.

"Over here, stupid!" She called from above. I looked up to see a brunette human girl, her red eyes glowing.

My breath took a hitch as she dropped to the ground, landing gracefully beside me. She stood about 2 inches taller than me. Her dress was exactly like mine other than it being black and red. She wore a tattered red scarf around her neck and a golden necklace, black boots making her look even more emo.

"Hello, Frisky," She smiled.

I shuddered at her feminine yet deep, echoing voice. "Don't call me that."

She made a pouting face. "Aww, why not? I mean, you and G seem to be getting along VERY well."

I rolled my eyes as she cackled.

"Trust me, I see it all. He looks at you differently than most."

I looked back up at her, my eyebrow raised. "What do you mean?"

She laughed again. "Sorry, my dark lips are sealed!"

I sighed, closing my eyes to gain focus. "Who the hell are you anyway?"

She perked up, smiling evilly. "Oh, right. I am Chara, the demon that comes when you call their name."

She took a step closer, too close for comfort. "And I can't wait to be your best friend."

Her face distorted, black ooze dripping out of her eyes. I screamed and took off running. That demon child won't take me today! OH HELL NO. I just dealt with a phycotic flower, no way in hell am I dealing with this!!

I ran through the rows of trees, her cackles following behind me. I turned back to see if she was there and ran into something, falling down with it.

"What the hell?!" A deep, familiar voice yelled. I looked up to be met with the face of a skeletal savior. I sobbed as I wrapped my arms around his neck tightly, crying into his shoulder.

Her cackles wouldn't stop.

"Woah, what's wrong?" G asked, obviously worried due to my shaking form on top of him.

"Say anything about me, and you're DEAD."

I looked up, lip quivering and tears falling quickly down my pale face. "N-nightmare. I woke to see you gone and I swore someone was watching me. Sorry."

His sockets narrowed in disbelief, but he shrugged. "S'okay," he sighed, pushing me off of him. "No one's out here, promise."

I nodded, catching my breath. I threw him his cloak which he put on before continuing to lead me to his home.

More silence.

"Well, this is awkward." Chara said, her 'breath' going down my neck.

"Shut up," I mumbled. G turned around, a pissed expression on his face.

"Excuse me?"

My eyes widened. "No, no! I was talking to myself. Stupid nightmare keeps popping into my head."

He stared at me for a second before sighing and turning back around. "We are just about there. Jus' around the corner here."

I perked up, running to catch up with G. As we turned the corner, a bridge over a large canyon intimidated me.

G had to take my hand in his in order to lead me across. I don't deal with this crap, heights aren't my thing. Nope, nope, I hated it.

I sighed in relief as we touched land again. I was so busy celebrating that I didn't notice we had made it.

"Brother? Is that you?" A proper sounding voice called out. We both looked over as the sound of armor echoed towards us.

A skeleton that resembled G in looks and even height walked over, his bright orange iris eyes full of hope. "It is you!" He laughed.

He ran over, his shining white armor glistening and his red cloak flying behind him. Rather than hugging G like we both thought, he full on slapped him. Surprisingly, G didn't smack back, he just stood there in shock. Damn, wish I had that kind of nerve.

"WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?! I WAS WORRIED SICK ABOUT YOU!"

He sounded a lot like G honestly. In the way he spoke I mean, their pitches were completely different. G's was deep and raspy, like a demon lurking in the dark. This skeleton had a slightly higher pitched voice than G and spoke like you'd imagine a total genius would.

G chuckled. "Wow, so that's how ya' greet ya' big bro?"

The skeleton rolled his eyes. "It would have been kinder if you had at least left a note!"

I was trying so hard to keep my laughter contained, but a giggle let loose. They both turned to me, G out of anger and the other out of curiosity.

He ran over, kneeling in front of me. I was preparing to be attacked and didn't notice him hold out his hand. I opened one of my eyes, seeing him with a raised brow bone.

"Do humans not accept simple friendly gestures such as this?" He asked with a laugh.

I calmed down and took his hand cautiously. He smiled, giving me a nod.

"Hello human! My name is Papyrus, the Co-leader of the Royal Guard! Who might you be?"

I was shocked. He really was quite mature. I smiled back, shaking his hand. "Frisk, it's a pleasure to meet you, Papyrus!"

He chuckled melodically. I liked the sound. "As it is to meet you, dear Frisk!" He stood up again, releasing my hand. G walked back over, standing beside his little brother.

"Well Frisk, I welcome you to our quaint hometown!" His hand gestured to the buildings behind him. I rounded the giant skeletons and let my eyes widen as I saw what he meant.

A little medieval town was only meters away. Lights hung up through the trees, creating a beautifully lit canopy. The buildings were completely made of stone and wood. Shops, an Inn, a bar of sorts called Grillby's, a Library called Librarby for some reason, and several small homes lined the center which was filled with merchant stands.

It was gorgeous.

G noticed my awed expression and chuckled, taking my side again.

"Welcome to Snowdin, Dollface."
