Chapter 17
Here it is, chapter 17! Hope you enjoy it!
To those who ask about doing art, that's a NO! No offense, but I'm being cautious in case of scammers, and I don't want to share my info with others so, you know.
The next morning, Flasheart came into the barn, fiddled a bit with the equipment, unsure what to do that morning, and looked at the pot they'd planted the seed in. Looking downwards it, he looked closely at the soil and saw a tiny bit of root barely just emerging from the centre of the soil. He widened his eyes and mouth at the surprising and unexpected results. "Over the next few days, that root grew upwards. And after a week, a flower had emerged." Flasheart, with Jessica on his right stood still in awe at the flower with yellow petals that was before them. "Ever seen a flower life this before?" He asked Jessica. "Never. And I'm not a botanist." Jessica answered as she shook her head. Flasheart shrugged before he stepped over to the pot, carried it over the table, placed it on the top by the machine, and after quickly adjusting the scanners, he scanned it. "Hmm. Interesting." He spoke as he looked at the results on the computer. "What about it?" Jessica asked, on his rear left. "Seems like there's something within the flow- I mean, the petals. I think." Flasheart answered, though the tone of his voice showed he was just as confused and anxious as she was.
Then he suddenly sprang up on his feet, Jessica stepping back in surprise as he went over to the other side of the room where Jessica had more of her spare equipment. He looked around it and quickly found what he was looking for: a syringe (he held it in his left hand). He went back over to the plant, kept the plunger into the middle, held the needle by lowest petal facing fin, stuck it into the leaf, barely a few inches into the petal, and suddenly, a yellow liquid began flowing out through the needle into the barrel, which soon filled up, so he moved the plunger fully back, letting the rest of the barrel fill. Once the barrel was full, he removed the needle from the petal and held the barrel up at eye-level, staring at it. "What is it?" Jessica asked from where she stood. Flasheart didn't reply, kept starting at the needle as if it were a priceless diamond. "Could it help my dad?" Jessica asked again, a bit more stern and louder. "Honestly? I don't know. I don't even know what we're dealing with here." Flasheart said back. "What is it?" Jessica asked calmly but tense. "Seems to be... some kind of juice." Flasheart answered. He then moved to the table, injected the juice into a spare Petri dish and put it into the black machine, placed the dish into the machine and scanned it.

"So, what was that stuff?" The PM asked as he took a sip of coffee. "Well, to explain it, I must start with me. Basically, a Werens cells are different from a Humans. We can produce, through evolution, antibodies that heal diseased cells. Over time, we developed this ability. Meaning we don't get cancer. But on their own, those cells cannot simply be transferred to a Human. They're incompatible with Human physiology. But it seems the juice is a sort of combination between those cells, with the human DNA of Steven. Thus, being Human compatible. And that's when it dawned on me." Flasheart explained, all eyes currently on the hologram in suspense.
Past
Flasheart dashed into the farmhouse, carrying the computer in his hands. Jessica came in behind him, carrying a scanner in both hands and two wires. They both came upon Steven, who was sitting on the sofa in the lounge, looking rather pale. Jessica sat down on his right, placed the wires on Steven's right forearm. Flasheart knelt down before Steven and the table, set up on it the computer and connected it to the scanner. He ran a scan of Steven and detected the tumour. He nodded before he got up on his feet, ran out the front door, ran back in with syringe In his left hand. He then tapped the barrel to let out the air. Jessica got up and Flasheart sat where she had been, injecting the juice into Steven's right arm, who winced slightly. "Sorry." Flasheart said as he removed the syringe, having emptied the barrel. He went back out the door to dispose of the used syringe as Jessica stood still, her hands on her arms, a pleading and tearful look on her face. Flasheart came back into the room, knelt before the computer and type in the command to scan. As the scanner did its work, he looked leftwards and upwards at Jessica with a solemn look on his face. "After all the hard work, this might be our only shot." Flasheart said cautiously at her, as they both hoped for a good outcome. Jessica looked down at the ground in worry a moment before the computer beeped the result. Flasheart looked back at the screen, and he let out an exhale as his eyes stared at the screen. Jessica looked down at him, stepped over to his left, knelt downwards and leaned forwards to see the screen. It was filled with a box saying in the middle "NO TUMOUR DETECTED". Silence filled the room for a moment before Flasheart pointed his muzzle downwards, then let out triumphant yell. Jessica's eyes and mouth widened before she then stood up, Flasheart doing the same, both turning to look at each other, put their arms and each others shoulders before they then hugged, as Jessica had explained it to him, and cheered.

"No way!" Sara exclaimed, everyone in the room except Flasheart in a state of shock and surprise. "It worked?" The President asked Flasheart, who grinned. "It worked." He answered. "How?" The President asked him. "It definitely is Human compatible. Apparently, it identified the tumour, the diseased as something wrong in the body, spreaded throughout his body, through every cell in an instant, attacking the tumour, the diseased cells... and destroyed it." Flasheart explained, speaking slowly and awe-struck. "It cured him?" The PM asked, as if to get the message across entirely. "It cured him. Cured it. Wait a minute..." He said as his eyes widened as he realised something. Then he looked rightwards to look at the plant they had brought with him, the same one he'd grown all that time ago. "That's the plant, isn't it?" Freddy asked, looking leftwards at it. "Do you have some syringes lying about?" He asked to no one in particular. A minute later, one of the police officers came in with a first aid kit and provided him with two empty syringes. Flasheart took them over to the right hand end of the table, placed them on the end and grabbed the black case with the plant in it with both hands, and put it in the table. He took the bottom of the glass with both hands, turned it rightwards, the glass moving, the sound of air hissing coming from it, then he lifted the glass case up from the plant, placing it on the table next to it. He then took one of the syringes in his right hand, removed the cover off the needle, and put it into the nearest top petal, filled up the barrel, removed the needle, tapped it, and then came over to Paul, his right hand twitching. "Parkinson's Disease." Sara explained. "The brain cells that make dopamine, which helps the brain control movement, to disappear." Paul added as Flasheart injected it into his right arm. "Maybe..." Flasheart muttered hopefully as he injected it all in and removed the needle, placed the syringe into a yellow disposal bin on the table the officer had just gotten him. All eyes were then on Paul, whose hand continued twitching for a few more seconds, until, suddenly, it stopped. All eyes in the room widened in surprise, Paul's breath shuddering in shock. "Those brain cells are now being regenerated." Flasheart explained with a smile.
Flasheart then got moved back over to the plant, took the second syringe, put it into a top petal, filled it up with juice, tapped it, and went over to Jai, and injected it, into his left arm. All eyes were now on Jai, whose silently sat still for a few seconds, which felt like minutes, as he then suddenly winced and groaned, leaning his head forwards for a few seconds. The groaning stopped and straightened his body. He glanced down at his left hand, which hanging limp on the wheelchair rests. They look looked at it, motionless for a few seconds, and then suddenly, movement! His fingers slowly pulled back, very slowly forming a flimsy fist. Then he moved his arm upwards a smidge, all eyes now wide in awe. A few minutes later, Jai had lifted his left arm up into a right angle, actually managing to put a smile on his face. Flasheart walked over to Jai's right, stepped past him, stood on his rear right and held his left arm/hand out, a proud smile on his face. "Behold, Humanity! The cure to end all cures!" Flasheart exclaimed proudly. "Can we mass produce it?" The PM asked, excitedly. "No, I it can only come from the plant. It cannot be replicated or produced from mixing chemicals or in a factory." Flasheart answered. "Can more plants be grown? Can we grow it on Earth?" The President asked, impatiently. "I think so." Flasheart grinned.
And that's chapter 17 done! Hope you enjoyed it!
The part where Flasheart uses the juice to cure disease from a flower was kind of inspired by the Netflix series "Sweet Tooth".
