Chapter 2

"Ash?"

(Ash's POV, earlier that evening)

We were sitting around the fire. The air felt warm and I would be just fine sitting there all evening. Gary tapped my arm. With a bit of effort a stopped staring at the flames, and turned around. "Task our kiss?"he asked, I rolled my eyes. This was Gary's own version of truth or dare, and I tried to avoid playing it as much as I could. So fair I had only played it twice, and never lost. But now that he had already asked me "task our kiss", I couldn't go back. Not unless I wanted him to call me torchic all summer.

"Bring it on." I said. He just gave me a wicked smile.

"Here's you task." he said. "Break into the girls shack and bring me..." He tapped on the rock next to him and looked like he was trying to find the perfect way to torture me. "Leaf's lipstick. Or else you have to kiss, Misty." I turned green, and tried not to collapse. He knew I could never do that. Even though Misty seemed a great person, I couldn't just kiss her. I had never kissed anybody (aside from the kisses on you cheek from your relatives).

"I'll do it!"I said. Gary looked at me like he was just stung by a Beedrill.

"You are?" He asked and gave me a surprised smile. "Okay," he offered his hand. "Deal."

I tried to walk away from the fire without anyone noticing. Which was hard enough because I had no experience sneaking around. When I was almost out of sight, Pickachu decided to annoy, and screamed as loud as it could, "PIKACHU!" I wanted to facepalm. Luckily nobody noticed, and I continued walking. When I finally arrived, I opened the door. No one had locked it. That made my job a lot easier. I entered the girls shack, and turned the light on. It looked the same on the inside as the boy shack. I walked carefully around the big mossy-green couch, and looked around the room. A few bags stood in the corner and some next to the door. But witch one was Leaf's? Then the door opened. I wanted to hide but froze as someone came in.

"Ash." A girls' voice said surprised. I turned around and looked right in the aquamarine eyes of Misty. I wanted to dig a hole and die.

"Misty." I said, trying not to sound like I was just caught snooping around the girl shack.

"Wrong shack." she said a little angry. I slowly walked backwards, trying to think of something to tell her. Something else then the truth. I opened my mouth, but nothing came out. "Get out." she said, and I didn't dare look her in the eyes. I walked past her, then I remembered that if I didn't get that lipstick I would have to kiss her. I didn't dare to imagine what she would think of me, so I turned around.

"Misty..." I started but stopped when I saw her face. If I would say something now she would make my life a living hell. Even pickachu hid under my cap. So I walked away, there was nothing Gary could do to me that was more terrifying then she was right now. I almost ran the intire way to the boy shack. Hid under my blanket and skipped dinner if I had to I would hide under the sheets forever. I couldn't face Misty, not now at least.

(Leaf's POV)

When Misty returned she didn't say a word she gave us the promised blankets and looked angry at the flames. I realy didn't want to know what happened but I had a pretty strong hunch who was behind it. So I asked the rest to excuse me and walked up to Gary. The boys sat down in a cirkel a few feet from the fire. They became silent as I walked up to them. Gary had his back toward me and didn't notice that I was standing behind him. The rest of the boys just tried not to make eye contact with me. I tapped Gary on the shoulder

"A word now." Gary looked at me with an annoying look on his face. And stood up way to smooth to followed me in to the forest. When I stoped he almost bumped in to me.

"Misty is upset why?" I demanded. Gary chuwed on his lip and I wished I never asked.

"I kinda asked ash to steal your lipstick." he said like it was nothing at all. I hit him in the face.

"Okay I deserved that." he said. That only made me angrier but when I wanted to turn around and walk away he grabbed my arm. I wanted to scream at him but he put his hand before my mouth. When he removed it he laid his finger on his lips and pointed at something moving next to the tree.

"Just a Pokémon." I said to myself, but Gary shook his head, and pointed again. Someone wearing a dark cape with a hood stood in the fog, with its back turned to us. I couldn't see if the figure was male or female. Then it turned around, and I swore I saw its eyes looking right trough me. Gary pushed me to the ground. The hooded figure walked slowly up to the place we were hiding. I desperately tried to get my breathing steady. It was only inches away from us. I squeezed my eyes together to not have to see it. I felt Gary's grip tightening on me, like he would try to shield me if it would attack.

Nothing happened. After a few minutes we dared looking again. There was nothing to see. Like it hadn't been there at all, then I stood up and looked at Gary. I wanted to be angry at him for grabbing me, but when I saw his face I closed my mouth. We walked back without saying a word. Both wondering if it had just been our imagination.

When dinner was served, I couldn't eat. I kept looking at the forest. 'The person we'd seen hadn't been evil.' I thought if it wished us harm it wouldn't have disappeared like that.

"You alright?" May asked with a full mouth. Dawn looked at her angrily, May didn't seem to notice.

"Fine." I said, a little too loud. I wished I could take it back. May looked so hurt by my words, but I couldn't tell them what I saw. Especially because I had been alone in the woods with Gary. I could already see Dawn's brow rising. So I apologized and said it was because of the hunger. But when I lay in my bed, that night, I couldn't sleep. And it wasn't because of the creepy figure in the woods. The look in Gary's eyes was the thing I couldn't get out of my head.

(Gary's POV)

When we returned to camp. I still hadn't stopped shaking. The thing in the woods had looked me straight in the eyes. A glowing dark green. Then I had pushed Leaf to the ground. I didn't know why I'd bothered protecting her, she hated me, and she had been very rude to me. I had seen prettier girls trying to get my attention. But I cared, I knew I did.

Drew had flipped his hair, and said I looked like I'd seen a ghost. The only question was, had I?

When we needed to go sleep, I sneaked out of the room. I could get in trouble for it, but I just didn't care. I walked on the rock side of an abnormally large lake when I saw the person again. Standing in front of the lake. It took its hood off. Long brown hair, a girl. In the reflection of the water I saw two lights. Her eyes they were brown. I started panting. This wasn't the same person as before I tried to slip away, but as soon as I turned around I saw it. The person in a black cape with a hood, and paint on the face. It looked me right in the eyes. I was so close I could hear it breathe. Those eyes, green glowing. It pointed a hand at me. And I saw a blue light covering my whole sight.

"Amnesia." a woman's voice said. Then everything turned black.

(Time skip)

The next morning when I woke up, I felt weird. Like I hid my head on a rock. I walked to the bathroom. We had to share with all the boys, it was realy crowded in there. Ash was brushing his teeth, and almost swallowed his toothbrush when he saw me coming in. I smiled, I hadn't forgotten his task.

"So, Ketchum, you failed, huh?" I asked Ash didn't reply. I gave him a wicked smile, but he didn't look me in the eyes. For a moment I thought he just didn't saw me, but then he turned around to face me.

"Double or nothing! I dare you to beat me in a boat race." he said. I could just refuse, but he looked at me desperately. He really didn't want to do this.

I didn't know if this was because he didn't like her or because he did. "Okay I except." I said and started getting ready for the day. When we came outside for breakfast, Laurel was already waiting for us. She smiled and gave us all a piece of paper with the color red our blue. I got a red card.

"We don't have enough materials to make you all go canoeing at the same time, so team red will go now, and team blue in an hour. Enjoy your breakfast everyone." She disappeared to her office. The curtains were closed since we first arrived.

We followed the cook named Brock to the dining room. Two long tables in the canteen, there was a lot of food on the table. Barry almost ran me over as he started eating everything on the table. When we all started eating, someone tapped my shoulder. I turned around it was the girl, Leaf.

"Can I speak to you for a second?" she asked. She sounded serious.

"Sure." I said, and walked after her.

She turned around. "Shouldn't we say something about the thing we saw last night?" she asked, and looked me worried in the eyes.

I blinked. "I don't know what your talking about." I said. She looked at me in surprise.

"You know that person in the woods."

"There was no one ther except us." I said, and walked past her. She just walked away with a hurt look on her face. That made me turn around.

"Hey Leaf, I heard weirder stories to get my attention." I shouldn't have said that.

"Self centered idiot!" She yelled at me. And disappeared into the woods.

(Drew's POV)

After our breakfast break from hell team red went down to the lake. I caught myself looking at May more often then I would admit. There were five canoes waiting for us. We all grabbed a life jacket, and looked with who we were sharing a boat. Paul's name was next to mine. Could've been worse.

Gary and Ash where both already practicing for their race in a minute. I pitied their partners. I grabbed a peddle and helped Paul get our boat in the water as well. When I looked up, my eyes met with May's. She looked away as quickly as possible. I smiled in myself. So she did notice me?

When all canoes where in the water, I looked around at team red. The canoe that was the closest to the shore was that of May and Dawn. They seemed to have dropped their peddles already, and now drifted helplessly around in circles. Then there was the canoe next to us with Misty and Leaf, who were getting the hang of it. There was our canoe of course, and Ash and Serena and Garry and Iris were way before us. They where already going to the small river that was flowing into the forest.

Then our canoe started moving fast. I had to grab on to the side of it not to fall overboard. I looked at Paul. He was rowing the thing on his own. "Need any help?" I asked him.

"The sooner we get there, the sooner we can go back." he growled. This was the most he had ever spoken to me, and I decided I wasn't going to ask for more. I grabbed my peddle and started peddling.

Well that was the second chapter already. What do you all think? Who are the mysterious cloaked women? I know it's not really hard to figure out, but I just liked writing this chapter so much that I don't care, so...

If you liked it please vote or just comment.
