The Day Of The Funeral...

Looking at my family and friends sit with me, we watched as the preacher came to the front of the front and everyone got up and waited for instructions. Just looking at my father in the casket from the front, brings bittersweet moments and memories from the time my mom funeral. His other family also came to pay they respect, but I can tell they don't want to be here, but I don't give a fuck about that- they are the least important thing right now. Adonis family came for support and that really felt good to that even those outside my family, I have those who care for me. Even Amiyah,  Jerome and Sonny came to give support. Getting up the preacher start to speak.

"Hello everyone, we are here todya for the homecoming of Charles Nicholas-White Smith, where a great man who had his up and downs in his life, but today isn't about the bad or good, today we are here to lay a man to rest. He was a good father, husband, son and friends those who are and were in his life. It is sad to see him go, but God was calling him home and now he will be together with his true love Mary Leslie Smith-Brown. Everyone bow your head while we say a prayer for Charles" bowing his head everyone bow their heads

"Hello everyone, I want to stand here today and see everyone today celebrate my son homecoming. Yes, me and him haven't talk like we supposed to but I can say I loved him so much even after his bad choices in his life. But today we are here to celebrate the good memories. I remember when he was young child, and he wanted to tell me about his first girlfriend crush. He was a bit shy because he never really understood it, so when I explained to him when he finally told me his crush, I told him that he likes her and his first words was "Eww mommy, girls got cooties!!!" and he ran to the bathroom got butt naked and ran in the tub yelling my name " Mommy come wash the cooties off me!". From that day forward he was the light in my eyes. When he met Shayla for prom, Donte's mother, for prom, I knew they was destined for each other because I knew her mom, Betty, because well we was bestfriends. Son, I love you so much, your gone but not forgotten . Leave a sit for me baby" going down he steps and kissed his forehead and went to sit back down with her husband, who held her while sobbing in his shoulder,I hope me and Adonis be like this one day, together and old.

"Thank you Sherrell, and I'm glad to be here with you on this day and good to see you again, I wish under different circumstances, but everyone lets celebrate this time we have with him, so  Ms. Smith please come and do your thing for everyone." coming back the down the stairs and while Ms. Smith came up and we started the program.

Walking to the hole where they are going to be putting my father at, I looked and seen his ex wife was looking a bit bothered and I can tell she didn't want to be here, and her kids are the same because they was on their phone. The other daughter is with me after the service ended we talked and got to know each other while the rest got into their cars to go to the graveyard. Making  to the burial ground, everyone put a rose on his casket and while they was doing that we heard a huff from his ex wife which I was close to snapping, but I kept my cool. The pastor came up and one of the ushers had dirt  in her palm, giving it to him.

"We are here to lay God's child into the earth for his spirit to be with his wife Shayla, as they lay together. Earth to earth, Dust to dust, ashes to ashes. Let these words calm the spirits to have calming and final peace." with everyone bowing their head, everyone began to leave only for his ex wife to stop me and the daughter Aaliyah while we was leaving, which in my head I don't want nothing to do  with right now. They are the last  people I want to talk to right now, and knowing me I will snap because of just seeing her here.

"Donte is it? Well as you may know you have two sisters and brother, nd I would like to say its nice to have yo-" stopping her mid-sentence from what she about to say out her mouth.

"One lady, you not my momma because I don't want nothing to do with you or them motherfuckers either. Two, you have three daughters but you excluded Aaliyah because she wouldn't take your shit or do what you wanted. I rather be family with Aaliyah than be with a sneaky, conniving, little bitch of a family like you and the rest. You should've stayed where you was because you caused my family marriage, but at the end they are buried together, next to each other while you still lonely and alone. Leave me, Aaliyah and my family alone." lapping e in the face, she huffed off while pulling the other kids away into their broke down car.

"You didn't have to do that Donte, I'm she did that" putting her head which put it back up and hugged her.

"Its okay, and its my job as a brother to have your back. They treated your wrong, and now you got me. I'm always go have your back, no matter what. Come on, my grandma having a cookout for the ceremony, we can get to know each other more" putting my arm around her shoulder and walked to the car
